Hey guys, I've had a problem that no patch has seemed to fix. My game simply won't play. I get a leading screen, it takes a fuck ton of ram, but doesn't do anything else. I've let it sit for hours, and still nothing. Tried redownloading, did nothing. Any ideas?

I had the same issue when I used an autoexec config to modify the game's maximum framerate.
I haven't done anything to it. I only played it shortly after I bought it about 6 months ago, and went to go check it out today and bam, nothing. How would I know my antivirus is blocking it? Because windows 10, I'm only using the built-in AV.

The current version is 1.2, with planetside. If you're loading the client you had installed from the last time you bought it, uninstall that shit, including the launcher, entirely. Save your keybinds and USER/screenshots folder if you care about those, of course (keybinding export only really matters if you're a stick/full HOTAS user), and then uninstall and delete the whole Star Citizen folder. Then download the new launcher here and do a fresh install.

The Vault update of the week is the trove of Endeavor WIP pre-concepts that were shown at Dragon*Con. The one with the ring around it that we saw is the latest WIP, but early iterations had rings then they took them out and now it's back, and the design is still not final. Sandi shared a pic on FB of Chris having a meeting with I guess the designers/artist/whoever about the Endeavor: [t]https://i.imgur.com/eum8rUJ.jpg[/t] From the gallery, it looks like the ring could be more for deploying science pods in almost a rack-loading system more than the typical "odd-numbered gravity ring" configuration CIG is known for. FPS status post due later today as usual. A minor patch, 1.2.1, has pushed to PTU, and mostly contains fixes and ArcCorp quality of life updates (like respawning if you end up falling out of the map). Also, there's a new version of the launcher that fixes some crashes, temporarily disables the music to fix Windows 10 issues, and actually adds initial P2P functionality -- which means that, contrary to what I'd assumed, the massive speed increases in the new launcher are not due to P2P, but likely more something like downloading multiple files in parallel from different CDN nodes. The community hub is slated to roll out to everyone today, pending resolving three blockers that should be resolved today. The Issue Council should be slated to launch next week. Those fold out sciency pods look pretty silly IMO... The first design looks better than the rest.

I know ArcCorp is meant to be fairly dirty and industrial but in the statue(?) comparison the after pic looks so depressive and dark. Unless they changed the static world time (we are getting day night cycles, right?). In the Customs check comparison, it's like they took a massive step back. the untinted "Welcome/Vessel Info" display looks much better tinted/with a dark room behind. The font is less legible than the original choice and how on earth did they also manage to miss spell "Length" as was originally spelled correctly with "Lenght" :v:
The Community Hub is live for Concierge and Subscribers as a more limited (but more than the 2,000 PTU-wave-1 testers) rollout before going fully live. Later today, we'll be rolling the Hub out to all Subscribers and Concierge members. They might want to tone down the Hooligan system a little bit. Make you only lose your balance and ragdoll if the other player is considerably heavier (i.e. wearing super heavy armor to your light) or carrying very heavy equipment, otherwise simply be staggered. And even when knocked down, you wouldn't go flying like you were hit by a truck.
did I miss something, when did they say you can knock down players? I thought the video was just ragdoll testing

Next patch they removed collisions completely from the game, and to this day mechs just clip through each.

watched Star Trek Into Darkness and Harlock: Space Pirate last night and feel unreasonably pumped go watch Harlock, it's pretty sharp. Based off an old 70's anime so some tropes/style bleed through but it reminds me a lot of Project Sylpheed's universe

Star citizen needs space flags off pirate ships for people wanting the opposite to stealth, intimidation.

It's not some great movie you should put on your bucket list but it's worth watching.

It has just the right flavor of ridiculous huge spaceship battles I've come to love. Like I said, I got some serious Sylpheed vibes, especially with (minor spoilers) the fuckhuge doomsday laser stuff and the whole 'not caring if their own fleet is in the way' that comes with it. I can't find any videos that confirm my memory but I think it was also a xenosaga game where I loved the giant ship tech and those huge beam cannons with the cool curved firing arcs oh another thing I loved from harlock was their shield defelctors. It wasn't just classic energy bubble deflectors, but huge coils that would attract laser fire and whip it off in some other direction [t]http://i.imgur.com/QInq9cO.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/MqkC9Ue.jpg[/t]

I didn't know shotguns had rifled barrels.
I didn't know shotguns had rifled barrels.
Yep, lots do. Most come standard with a smoothbore barrel, but the vast majority of modern shotguns can swap barrels for the purposes of firing rifled slugs. Also, are you sure thats a shotgun and not like, a grenade launcher or something? That looks like a fucking HUGE bore for a shotgun.
It's great to see little details like that but I hope to god they have properly implemented LODs when the game comes out proper. You're never gonna actually see the rifled barrel unless you're fucking around with friends, pointing the guns in each other's faces.
