It's kinda funny seeing the massive disagreements on the state of the game from here/reddit compared to places like Somethingawful who are on the Derek Smart bandwagon to hilarious proportions. I don't think I saw a single thing said on the SA thread about the presentation that wasn't negative and while some of the complaints are valid (I find the referral system very silly and the unlimited Idris sale a cash-in) there seems to be a lot of unjustified hatred being aimed at CIG which I don't understand. I admittedly haven't followed this game much for the past 2 years (I didn't even know Wingman had left for about 5 months after it happened). The Starmap looks pretty cool (something that people on SA kept calling terrible for reasons that I don't get). I'm still of the opinion this game is suffering from feature creep and that the FPS portion remains the weakest looking part and bringing down the space sim portion of the package but the game looks like it was worth the small amount of money I pledged 3 years ago to this day.

i been part of the gamergate clusterfuck and i dont see why anyone listens to derek smart when it comes to this game.

The starmap is swanky, polished, smooth, good looking, really clean, and feels good to use. I am genuinely impressed by it because I have never used [I]any[/I] of those adjectives to describe something that's come out of CIG. I don't read the subreddit much anymore because it's reached subreddit critical mass. It's very difficult to find anything worth talking about on there anymore, and there's a bit too much fellatio going on for my tastes these days. It's a real shame because it used to be fantastic and my example of a subreddit run right, but really it was just in the part of a subreddit's lifecycle where it was best.

Goonerathi = DS fleshdoll. Also, with people hating on the presentation, either they were so gullible in DS's stream or weren't going to budge. On the neutral (I don't know anything about SC), I thought it did a good job in presenting, (minus on bit), and that would had made people better understand the project and how things are revealed. Jesus, the nvidia control panel thought it would be a good idea to run Star Citizen off of my integrated graphics when I've got a perfectly good dedicated one. Single digit FPS leads to bad times.

Man if the Sabre came with the full game I'd totally buy it. As it stands, I'd have to melt my super hornet package for something that doesn't even come with the full game. :saddowns:

The moderation out there is garbage and apparently held several votes over whether to ban DS related newspostings, got pretty heavily weighted "BAN IT" responses, and came to the conclusion it's totally welcome to keep getting posted. I found a pretty hilarious DS alt (named "Not Derek Smart") that had been posting direct links to DS's blog and anti-SC articles citing his blog for two straight months without getting nipped

The Sabre looks great, both inside and out. I can't wait to see it ingame. The fixed hardpoints worry me, but hopefully the flight won't be so twitchy by the time it gets ingame. I ask the question, as I am not sure how many Starfarers we have... nor do I know how updated the information in the catalogue would be. I'm guess people have melted ships over the last week or so given the events and such, so it's probably outdated to that extent.

From the sound of things the final stretch before release will basically be just opening up jump points one by one as the systems are completed. Just imagine the clusterfuck of everyone bumrushing new systems, it's be heckers
