- ArcCorp, Area 18 is expanding! The new Galleria area is currently under construction, but available for exploration.
- Falling out of the terrain will now kill players, and revive them in the Area 18 Medical Unit.
Nice, looking forward to this when I get home.
I think people view stretch goals differently. You clearly view it as they can extended the project indefinitely. Others view it a bit more like homework and extra credit. You only do the extra credit if you have time after you finished the core assignment. You can't go up to the teacher after the due date and say wait hold on I'm making it better. Then keep doing that.
except this is more like the teacher saying "well since situation's changed i'm gonna tweak the due date but you have to do more"
Aww, hell yes, 1.3. I can't wait to get into the new area.

How's this working out for Elite: Dangerous? Because it's what they did (admittedly they didn't get the bounty of funding that SC did, so they had to).
Would you have had them do that while sitting on triple their projected budget? The project would then require a fuckton of refactoring to add all of the extra stuff into the live build, with a bunch of adjustments to the economy every time something new was added, like mining.
That's not why I asked for a refund. I said that because of the point that CIG needs my money to fund their development (which they frankly don't).
I stated in my email that they have demonstrated poor project planning and the delays and lack of a definite release date have gone against the project I pledged the money to in the first place and others have gotten refunds for having similar views. The fact that the small amount of money I have in the project (compared to others) can be more useful to me in buying things that actually exist and improve my life just makes it worth asking for a refund, not the reason I am requesting it.
The original TOS stated that if the game was not released a year after projected (originally Nov 2014) then refunds would be offered and financial documents disclosed by CIG and it is looking like a full release is still years away. I don't feel bad about asking for a refund, the scope and vision of the game has completely changed since I pledged and it isn't what I signed up for.
When that TOS was written it was for a much smaller game, not what it is now. Of course the additions were going to change how long it was going to take to make it, the estimated kickstarter release date was originally just for part of SQ42 and didn't take into account anything other than that. The scope has changed but the vision hasn't, the core of the game is the same as it's always been.
Delays don't necessarily mean poor project planning, they've said why things have been delayed and continued to show progress. It's not like there's no good reason for it.

The original pitch was a far smaller game with the intention of getting the money to be able to build the game up after that was released. Getting more money just allowed them to build the game they wanted right from the start. They aren't extra things they just decided to shove in somewhere just because they could, they were things Chris wanted in the game all along.
I wonder how fast shit is going to come out as the base of the PU (alpha 2.0) is out
I'm not sure why we have to rehash this kickstarter argument constantly. The original Kickstarter would have only provided the first episode of SQ42 by the due date. I mean if that's all you wanted I can imagine being a bit pissed but I think the vast majority of us who bought in back then wanted Star Citizen. I couldn't care less for SQ42 and that hasn't changed a bit.
As for refunds... if people really want to try and get them, it's their money so I'm not about to get all indignant about it. But I would suggest they reconsider and maybe just let the game speak for itself, especially considering how close we are to getting something real.

I don't care all that much about the PU as long as the single player is good, which is the reason I backed it.
Though now I don't feel that the PU will be finished until 2022 by the pace they are publicly going. I would like an up to date status on all the ships and I could only find the one on google from July to make better judgement. It would be also nice to see a spreadsheet on all the major models and maps then just the ship status, can just go through and change the secret names to planet 63 ect.
Also for the funnies, look back at the parody video I posted.
what on earth is the screenshot key in the PTU, F10-12 are mobi/contacts/chat, and F9 didn't save any screenshots to any of my folders

I agree. Yes, people are free to seek refunds if they really do feel disappointed, but there's nothing wrong with the direction Star Citizen has taken since the early Kickstarter. In fact, I'd venture a guess that the majority of backers have backed not for that original idea, but for the vision of Star Citizen that has been marketed since - An open world, massively multiplayer, persistent universe. I'm one of them. In the end, no matter why we backed, it's ridiculous to be upset at CiG because they aren't catering to your needs and your needs alone. It's not like they've constantly expanded their scope either - The persistent universe is where it ended, and the stretch goals ended ages ago. 'Feature creep' is a bullshit buzzword, and one that really has no more relevance to Star Citizen.

I hope you realize that you don't even need to own a Greycat to drive one on Arc Corp. They spawn on their own.

In-game radio, or that's the music for a joke mission
There's no way this game is going to be 100% RP friendly for the entire time
I think the 80s music makes perfect sense. Musical trends are cyclical, it's entirely possible there will be a period in the future where 80-style music like this comes back.
for those who missed the memo, some size 4 guns are available and they added special fixed mounts to override turrets on cutlass and super hornet

I bet that guy can't even properly explain his jurisdiction's antitrust laws in general, let alone find something in SC's crowdfunding that is worthy of antitrust action. The only way that'd be plausible is if everything DS said was true, and that means this guy... ..oh.
Says everything, don't it? :v:

Hopefully this means they are going to allow swapping of manned/unmanned/fixed mounts on all ships with turrets. Would love to load up a redeemer with a mass of s4 railguns to alphastrike the shit out of shit.
apparently these new fix mounts are just to test s4 weapons, they don't represent what will be available in the real game (though I wouldn't discount the possibility)
Freelancer flyable yet?
Not yet; check in when Alpha 2.0 with proper multicrew ships is out. Which is officially "Soon", so Garry's bday 2016.
Also, found this on Reddit. My god. It's beautiful.

just like the driveable flying toilets I used to build in gmod, complete with a newspaper in hands
update, tali thing was a glitch and it's in a buggy state, definitely still hangar decoration level at the moment

some notes of interest I got with the vid
Local grid is ON
pilot seated animation is buggy
front underside turret is beyond buggy
gear is stuck down
minimal engine effect, just a small change in glow
rear top turrets seat right and move as intended, but none can fire. Also a weird one-sided black plane of geometry is stuck across their hatch
engineering console has a UI but no info displayed yet
[t]http://i.imgur.com/WxeyuVd.png[/t]
ladder to deck B doesn't work
flight feels powerful and slick despite hitting only what, 130m/s? check 6:33
no damage model shown when crashing into objects (right after the segment at 6:33)
crashing looks like cutlass death spin 2.0 ((right after the segment after that))
flying through terraformer beam revealed a lot of damage model stuff
using the elevators while in flight will lower the elevator, BUT you teleport back onto the deck instead of going down through the hole.
lower tail turret apparently lets you fall through it into space. May have been more problematic due to ship movement in the example
