unfortunately there's a lot of people who rushed into this game wholly expecting that paying more money for ships means they're more valuable and that's the only way to get them.
I'm fairly sure CIG was open from the start that everything would be obtainable in-game? Or was this a response to P2W concerns that arose after the start? (I'm not an original backer so I was not actually there.)
Because, honestly, I have little sympathy for the people who blew big money on pledges specifically because they thought CR would actually let them P 2 W. They're the negative pressure from within the backer fanbase that's trying to perpetuate the F2P cash shop model when CR hates that shit, and I'm going to laugh when they find out their thousands of dollars in pledges turns out to skip them significantly less grind than they imagined.
The project could genuinely do without that segment of backers, just as it could do without the outliers with impulse control problems who blow money they can't afford into big-ticket concept sales. And now I've finally become the grouchy old man I was destined to be. Give me my cane and then get the fuck off my lawn.
FP shows much bias towards Valve products and GMod. You try to tell the Rust sub-forum that Rust has issues, most posters would shit on you in a heart beat.
Actually, given the unpopular building changes and the performance/stability issues that've been affecting Rust recently, plus the community's massively inflated expectations of hacker mitigation in an alpha by a small team, like 2/3rds of the posting there is "holy shit devs you are so bad" for one shitty reason or another (oh no, a patch added/removed something that alters the gameplay meta somehow, RUST IS RUINED FOREVER!).
Like SC, Rust has become a "the community thinks it's in huge trouble" project when any delays/setbacks in end-user playability are just the ordinary ups and downs of software development, but they're perceived as signs of doom by some ill-informed, impatient vocal minority.
i'm not getting it
how do i spawn multicrews
through the consoles in the globe room? cause all i'm getting is the option for my avenger and loaner hornet

Do you own a multicrew ship?
well yeah
It also needs to be a multicrew ship that is currently flyable (afaik the Constellation, Retaliator and Cutlass are the only multicrew ships flyable!)
It also needs to be a multicrew ship that is currently flyable (afaik the Constellation, Retaliator and Cutlass are the only multicrew ships flyable!)
They don't give you a loner multicrew ship to play with in the meantime? That's kinda lame. Pretty sure they gave me a 300i to mess around with in light of my herald not being playable yet.

even so I'm pretty sure killer has a tali doesnt he?

PTUs don't often have loaners. But when 2.0 goes live, the loaner situation should be sorted out.
Is it a bomber Tali or a Tali base without modules?
i can't even load my tali into broken moon free flight :why:
w/e, i'll just wait until live
i can't even load my tali into broken moon free flight :why:

Quick questions, is it the original bomber or base variant?
Did you get it recently? And did you copy your account over to PTU after purchasing?
any word on live release date? or any educated predictions
any word on live release date? or any educated predictions
Seeing as CIG USA have Thanksgiving for like half the week, and only the UK/German studios will be at work Thursday and Friday, they're aiming for the week afterwards - the hope is that the massive instabilities they're experiencing right now will get smoothed out with patches on the PTU - 1.3 had something like 6 PTU patches, after all, so there's precedent.
Obviously, anything could happen.

in regards to the fact that despite it being written up front and center on every purchase page, people with vague knowledge about the project hear "omg they're selling $5000 space ships" and fall into a mob mentality around it being the most expensive P2W store ever
I think the people who drop silly amounts of money like 30 grand are batshit insane, but I'm glad that they fund the game because like hell would I ever pay that much money for jpgs of internet space ships.
yeah but look how much fun I'm having with the JPGs of my new hypothetical archimedes

slightly darker red and maybe red cockpit glass tint and I would fly the FUCK out of that thing

dickbutt and all
[editline]23rd November 2015[/editline]
thinking about paint jobs, we havent seen the Herald in anything but its battleship-gray stock livery. That thing would probably look kick ass with a black or red/black paint scheme.

This is basically dream coming true slowly, but steadily.

if anybody wants to dick around with it, here's my file (CC2015, I'll go back later to try saving for compatibility)-

the layers are all named well enough, but the way it's set up is:
>components that shouldn't be affected by color
>>shit you do
>adjustments that add contrast and somewhat remove the yellow pinstripes from the old render
>base image
I'm REALLY hoping we get semi-decent customization with skinning things. My best guess for what they'd likely do is, you buy a graphic set that has preset decals, accents, whatever, and then depending on the set, you can choose the colors for each piece. So with the image I posted, it'd always be that pattern, but I could change it to a red ship with white accents in the same spots or something
[editline]e[/editline]
one of the biggest non-issues people voice over allowing customized colors is "I don't want big pink retaliators flying everywhere!" (did I mention this before) and the solution is pretty simple. Don't let people 100% cover their big ships. Provide skins that are specific to the ship, that have special flair and styles, leave the ship's base coloration (the cutlass's polished metal, or the retaliator's black matte), granting control over the accents
As long as you aren't trying to upgrade your only package-holding ship, yes you can launder any ship you want into LTI as long as it costs the same or more as a P-72 (no new LTI P-52s). I mentioned this when I linked the sale post three pages ago.
Well, shit. My Constellation Andromeda and my Gladius now have LTI. I can do more, but I'm sort of scared it'll come back to bite me.

I have the P-72 as a stand in, incase there's a ship I want LTI on.
I don't think that it will bite us back, and if it does, oh well, I'll melt them back into store credits for later use.
I have an LTI connie package, so in the end, that would be enough.

Took me a second to see it. Dickbutt aside, good work so far, you've made the ship look way more interesting than the default white.
Why are you making a P-72 skin concept? Has there been confirmation the game will let you do that? Am I missing something?

boredom and also being annoyed with the white-with-lemon-yellow-pinstriping default. Can't wait for even basic skin swapping with the pledge skins

I'm just picturing 50 Auroras doing extremely-hard versions of the racing tracks, requiring precision acrobatics, clipping through each other and instaspawning at checkpoint rings whenever they go flying out of the track, now.
So I found this set of user.cfg settings that really helps in both 1.3 and 2.0 PTU. The file needs to be named user.cfg and needs to live in either <install path>\StarCitizen\Public (for the live client) or <install path>\StarCitizen\Test for the PTU client. The settings here are for people who have i5/non-Hyperthreading-enabled CPUs.

You'll notice that the motion blur and vsync commands in there are the same ones I used before. The rest set various Cryengine parameters for threading different subsystems (like physics) and determining what cores the main/physics/asset streaming threads run on. The config for people with HyperThreading-enabled CPUs is the same except for the following changes to account for HT core counting:
sys_physics_CPU = 2
sys_streaming_CPU = 4
How well did it help? Well, people've seen my videos so far with big ugly hitches (and it was nearly constant). I managed to get a run of good luck with server and client stability and flew my Mustang Omega out to a comm array to reactivate it. A bunch of AI pirates in Auroras were there, fighting with AI security ships. I took two Auroras out before realizing that was pointless for getting to the array, and flew in close. This happened:

If this issue is not on the issue council as having passed triage, or if it has not been created, please add this: The Constellation Andromeda's manned turrets do not start in a stowed (Lowered into the ship's hull and covered with the hatches) position, nor do they return there after use. The videos I've seen so far of the PTU seem to confirm this, and if it could be fixed before Alpha 2.0 sees a live release, I'd be very happy.
[editline]23rd November 2015[/editline]
Also, Jesus Christ, is anyone else as annoyed by the new flyby sounds as I am? Sure, even if you accept the headcanon that your pressure suit or ship simulates the sounds to contribute to better pilot awareness, why do they have to sound like jet engines flying by, distorted by atmosphere? The old flyby sounds were far superior.

it's probably intentional/the functionality hasn't been added

I figured that was a possibility. But someone may as well report it since they haven't said not to.
