Star Citizen Megathread - Fly FREE thru Dec 14th! Link in OP

Notice that, as of the current stats (never trust the stats page), the Reliant's engines and thrusters are only TR1, and TR is an indicator of thruster efficiency and power (not size). The Reliant's speed will be somewhere between the Aurora and Mustang's speeds, according to AtV, so, probably somewhere around 200m/s.
Also, the Reliant's wings fold for storage. Subtly tucked away in the corner here:

Very much against buying SC ships, but I'm tempted to drop an extra $10 over my Aurora to get it.

isn't this actually more than that? because it's $50 just for the ship without a package
I recall they said they wanted to push this to a flyable state pretty quick, so you could wait for the CCU (or whatever that system is they're currently cooking up to replace CCUs)

although the upright cockpit looks really nice, I think I would have preferred if it spun like the other concepts
that way, the interior could be much cooler, since it doesn't need to make compromises for the rotating chairs, and you could have a functioning interior in the rear since you don't need a docking-collar-esc connector
The convergence on that thing is going to be hilariously ridiculous looking courtesy of the guns being on the ends of giant poles.
Where is the living space for the meatbags? It doesn't really look like there's any space in the vehicle's thorax or abdomen section - the former being a cockpit and the latter cargo. Unless there's beds built into the wing collar or something.
- The Reliant doesn't have interior living quarters (or even a toilet) like the Mustang Beta does, but there is interior walking space (accessible from the cockpit only when the ship's in horizontal mode); one of the variants could have a fold-out bed or something
That is the primary thing for me right now, it never makes sense to mount weapons an incredibly far distance away from the centerline of a ship (painful enough on the 300i when I tried it)
Also I really hope that this sets the precedent for more 'horizontal' looking multicrew ships.
I like the reliant, centre of mass engines.
More spaceship design instead of aircraft design. (even though yeah wings, but they seem really functional for space and thick)
Overall, the reliant oozes futurism and utility.
My only concern is that the concepts do not envision where the manuvering thrusters are placed, but again that goes with all concept designs and shows CIG priorities.

The maneuvering thrusters are the little RCS looking things.

Only nitpick is that the "flying wing" is inverted. In reality, the center of lift would be too far forward. Flying wings are supposed to be shaped like diamonds with the tip facing forward, not backward. Pretty minor issue, in this context.
I told myself no more. No more ships.
*smashes pay button*
CIG why do you do this to me?!
I would tell you to learn some self control but what can I say.
Lando tried to do something cool for the community by posting some sneak peeks at Star Marine.

Unfortunately, one of his screenshots (now censored) showed an incomplete Amazon CDN URL. People guessed the rest, and:
[Removed link]
Got a 1kb File, but positive that's not the full link. Time to do some bruteforce guessing the rest of the link!
EDIT: IMPORANT NEWS. I changed it to a .text and got the following (FPS on PTU?):
universes = Test
Test_torrentLink = [Removed link]
Test_universeServer = [Removed link]
Test_version = FPS_Playtest
UPDATE 3: Downloading...
UPDATE 4: I've contacted CiG support to check if this is intentional or not, and to warn them regardless. I believe it might be intentional, due to the fact the link was clearly shown (with SataBall in windows mode) in all three images.
UPDATE 5: Due to it's contents, it would be smart to assume it is a INTERNAL build accidentally released. I recommend you stop all downloads as you won't be able to play it without proper access. - You're wasting 48 GBs, and and getting content that is not ready for any form of public release.
UPDATE 6: /u/Keegan-CIG has politely requested that anyone who had access to this, or downloaded any content from it, do not share the contents online ( or really in any manner ). I've already removed all of the torrent and data I recieved.

Just going by the folders of the build, this is definitely looking like something internal. Idris assets, S42 folders, commercial scenes...

Holy shit, these files contain capital ship assets. There's a fairly complete-looking Bengal in here, and two Vanduul ships that look to be between the Idris and Bengal in size.

StarCitizen/Tools/PakEncrypt/ StarCitizen/Tools/RSASigner/ ... probably unintentional
Edit: Keys aren't in there, just a keypair generator script.
Tools/ItemBalanceScripts/ looks interesting
The files were removed from the CDN (at least at that URL) but not before 100% of the torrent was leeched and put into the seeding pool. No, I do not know where to find the torrent and, given that it's a leak that seems to contain internal Crytek tools and that could have legal repercussions for CIG, I suggest not discussing where to find it.
Here's hoping this doesn't delay everything like the HL2 leak did. And here's hoping Disco Lando doesn't get fired, especially since he only just recently got hired on at CIG after being an active and major community contributor. He's not the one responsible for CIG putting internal builds on unsecured public CDNs.

I get protecting CIG and all, but way to tease the shit out of us.
I get protecting CIG and all, but way to tease the shit out of us.
it wasn't a tease
it was an inadvertent leak of proprietary assets

Didn't mean CIG, I meant the dude that was like "Dude look at all this cool shit that only I can see, lel"
Didn't mean CIG, I meant the dude that was like "Dude look at all this cool shit that only I can see, lel"
I think it's best this way. I'm surprised that dude was kind enough NOT to leak all of it.
Man what I wouldn't give to see those cap ships...
Also really considering getting a reliant... Though the lack of a toilet is off putting...
Neat, stumbled across some pics from the leak. Cap ships and a F8, just models.
Posting said images because dai said it was ok
Censored for some ungodly reason because elix thinks they're spoilers for some reason.
Album Link if you want to look at cool spoiler spaceships anyway.
Sweet mother of all that is holy.
I want to steal a Hunter, that thing looks sweet!
I might add that I've got hands on the leak as well now, if I find any other neat shit I'll post them as well.
Did they still retain their immense scale? A Bengal Carrier dwarfs a Nimitz Class by comparison last I checked
Kinda hard to tell from those pics
the kingship looks small.
The Kingship is 1.5km long, and the Bengal is 1.1km long.
The Bengal has a single spine-mounted anti-capship railgun. The Retribution-class super dreadnought has a ring of them.
Also why are you embedding spoilers?
i need some scale bb
put a aurora or something in those pics
now I'm imagining a scenario in sq42 where you're desperately defending a bengal against a couple of kingships and the retribution warps in triumphantly and fucks everything up with some kind of super weapon
What ships are there that we haven't seen yet and only have a description at the moment? There's the Dragonfly and the Hurricane, but i can't remember what else there is.
We have not seen:
Argo (transport ship)
Crucible
Endeavor
Genesis starliner
The unnamed new corvette and battlecruiser (may not even be in concept yet)
the Xi'An cargo ship
the "larger" Banu ship
Esperia Prowler
Manticore
The other three starter candidates: Drake Dragonfly, Aegis Terrapin, Anvil Hurricane
those starter ships aren't confirmed, and I doubt the hurricane will be seen for a looonng time, even if the dragonfly happens
CR said "don't count the others out" and personally favoured the Dragonfly. The poll was for backers to choose what CIG prioritized. I have to imagine that CR approved all four concept submissions with the idea that any and all of them have a place in the 'Verse.
They're not confirmed, but I imagine they'll be made eventually. The Terrapin is billed as a hardened, survivability-first ship that's good for mining; an entry-level mining ship is pretty much a no-brainer, but it's going to be a while before anyone goes mining so there's no rush.
Also, I'm surprised that the Pegasus is even longer than the Bengal.
Same stuff but with more perspectives and such
