Frankly? Before he decided to throw a big public tantrum over Star Citizen I'd never heard of the dude before.
And I can't really feel like my worldview has been enriched much by learning about him, but at the moment he's extremely amusing to make fun of. Imagine if he came here and threatened half of Facepunch! That' be hilarious.
I hope, in either case, that he doesn't manage to become a real thorn in CiG's side before they swat him away like a gnat.
Good news. CIG preemptively refunded shithead, removing his legal standing to sue, as laid out in the Kickstarter TOS. He's currently trying to figure out a way to refuse the refund. :v:
Now he can't do anything except try and personal army other people. A complaint has also been filed with Valve over LoD's store info being misrepresentative and Shart's abusive censorship in LoD's Steam forum where a forum ban is immediately extended to a game permaban, but I won't get into that except to mention it.
Since he can no longer directly threaten CIG on account of having no standing to bring suit, I'm done talking or thinking about him.

Even if he refuses the refund, all they had to do was offer. He's no longer got ground to stand on.
Kickstarter's TOS says the creator can refund a backer at any time for any reason and that immediately dissolves the relationship and all responsibility to deliver any reward to that individual.
CIG wiped their hands, and if that isn't good enough CR's co-founder is an entertainment lawyer.
Anyway, here's hoping the PTU happens this week and it isn't a technical disaster.

The modeling in-game has been very strange ever since they introduced horizontal g-forces. The way i think it works based on my testing in combat and in free flight is there are two different "g meters", one ranges from 100 to -100 and applies to the vertical axis, and then another ranges from something more like 0 to 400 and builds up when you accelerate or rotate in any direction. The vertical g-force meter you can keep around zero and never black or red out if you apply huge up g-forces then huge down g-forces, they cancel out. The other one is additive though, so if you go left and then right it doesnt cancel and you are just adding to your meter that will make you goat faint/white out/fall over.
So gameplay wise you do have a longer short term tolerance for left/right g-forces but long term you are better off cancelling vertical maneuvers. Not exactly the most realistic system but it's interesting at least.

Front/back is far better than any other.
If SC's ships were [I]really[/I] realistic, the cockpit would be gimbaled in all three axises so that the pilot's face is always pointing towards the direction of acceleration.

Yeah... don't know what I was thinking. Obviously, g-forces pushing your blood out of your brain or, even worse, into your brain are more harmful than lateral ones. I probably confused it with forward/backward forces, which kind of restores a tiny bit of validity to my argument, as part of the force in an upwards loop will be pushing you back, not just down.
Not going sideways is probably better mostly because sideways you'd be more likely to slip out of your restraints, and less likely to be able to make proper use of your arms and hands.

Merlin and Scythe should hopefully be in.
Specifics of balance adjustments have not been said, but the overall goal was to increase TTK and generally slow down combat without removing the action packed feeling AC is known for. Basically, they are aiming for a more "flight centric" experience WITHOUT taking away the unique advantages of AC's 6DoF flight.
There is probably more coming, and some of this stuff may not make it in, but it should make for one hell of an interesting patch.[/QUOTE]

nah, it falls too much on the movie side of UX
it's way too busy to be playable
the helmet is really good though, it actually sells the idea of wearing a helmet, while the current one just looks like more junk hovering in your face
I mean with the huge visor on the current helmet, there's no reason you should see any of it even at high FOV
