clearly the command module has control/RCS for post-separation, but I like how it's the massive heavy cargo hauler portion that has little separation rockets.

You're not using the primary's fuel after this point so you don't give a damn about that, but presumably your little capsule needs to hold onto as much as it can for the escape and life support
The problem is that it was designed to be hideous. Nobody designs a car to be ugly. Even the worst looking production cars (like boring obvious choices like the Pontiac Aztek and Fiat Multipla) have reasons for the way they look. There's no reason why the Herald has one engine twice the size of the other, why the pilot is the crumple zone, why there's random bends in the bodywork. The Herald should look utilitarian; lines that are purposeful but not really designed for anything beyond that. [t]http://i.imgur.com/ZClL088.jpg[/t] Teladi small craft from X3 are pretty good examples of utilitarian design; aside from often goofy looking wings/weapon mounts surrounding their engines, they have clean profiles that look designed to cut production costs.
Aaa I myself just love design of small Teladi ships in X3. They are rough, unpolished and teladi have no aesthetic sense in general, and that is what make those ship look good. They look real and make sense. For example Osprey (Osprey sentinel is even better, but no good picture) [t]http://horobox.co.uk/u/creec_1438088911.png[/t]

It might be nice if we got some exotic ships in this aggressive style though. The scythe's edgy '80s aesthetic doesn't do it for me.
I think all the Vanduul designs are really stupid looking. The Glaive is the only one I kind of like, and probably only because it looks like a Cylon Raider. They took the "Vanduul love sharp pointy things" to the point of parody. Everything is knives for MAXIMUM EDGE.

Do you earn REC in private servers? (I know you don't on Drone Sim). I'm getting really fucking tired of people swooping in and getting the last 2-3 hits on an enemy and getting all the points.
No, but if you have a lobby full of FPCorp for, say, public VS, it's "public" but you're still flying with only FPCorp. Private lobbies don't give REC for any game mode. Too abusable.
Great, so I have to deal with kill stealing assholes and I might not even get REC because of that bug. Guess I'll wait for a patch to fix it.

[t]http://guidescroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/flagship.jpg[/t] It even has nice big thrusters on the back. Go ahead and look at other shots of this beauty, you won't be disappointed.
And if the Teladi flying junkyard look is more your thing, then you'll love the Zarek ships from Fractured Space. All the ships in FS are pretty cool looking. Before anyone asks: no, don't play Fractured Space.
Before anyone asks: no, don't play Fractured Space.
I would say maybe don't pay for it yet if you're not super interested because it's pretty early in development, but I think it's pretty fun already and very promising. It's basically World of Warships in space. It's an UE4 game made by the guys who did the Strike Suit games if that means anything to you. I've personally talked to them back when the ships were just boxes and they seem to have their heads on straight and interested in making a good game. They still do community playtests every Thursday where you can play and chat with the devs. It's come a long way.

I like the game but I'd recommend waiting for it to go F2P unless the concept really excites you.
Picked it up during a free weekend kind of deal just because I love the way the ships are designed. Unfortunately the game itself just isn't there yet, but it's still very pretty. I hope the industrial ships in Star Citizen turn out something like that zarek carrier with all the crates and canisters hanging off

too late sucker I hate when sharex fails though, it'll just leave your last cap on the clipboard

But hey, for all I know the final version might be covered in tubes and shit, I haven't looked into it much.

I don't remember how, but I have Fractured Space, and I haven't tried it yet.
I don't remember how, but I have Fractured Space, and I haven't tried it yet.
I'm in the same boat except after trying to start it up I remember at least why I haven't played it. The process just kinda silently starts up and dies. I'd never notice if I wasn't actually looking to see why nothing was happening. [editline]27th July 2015[/editline] Also a note on the Vanduul ship designs. The boarding pod looks just like something from Warhammer 40k's Chaos Space Marines.
I don't remember how, but I have Fractured Space, and I haven't tried it yet.
There was a free weekend where if you installed it you got to keep it, I know a lot of people just installed and then uninstalled it immediately, maybe you did that?
There was a free weekend where if you installed it you got to keep it, I know a lot of people just installed and then uninstalled it immediately, maybe you did that?
Actually, I'm pretty sure that's how that went down. I might give it a try, see if I can stir up interest from enough people to get an all-FP game and a thread going. First, though, I'll have to watch the tutorial video (apparently quite key). Also depends on if they have matchmaking working where we'd be able to have FPers playing together instead of just being thrown in with all randoms--if not, I'm not interested yet beyond maybe one or two fuckaround games to try playing in the first place. Tomorrow's meet the devs video is an interview with Skelton. This'll be interesting.
I'm seriously not kidding; don't bother [editline]28th July 2015[/editline] I mean I guess go watch actual videos. Like, at real time without skipping anything. The game is very alpha lol
Me, Xavith and another friend played plenty of Fractured Space. It's not as bad as Mbbird makes it out to be.
