Was an estimated date given for the release of the FPS module? I haven't really played any Arena commander yet but once that is released I'll give it all a try.
No specific date, but mid/late March, with social/planetside close behind. AC1.1 should be out around the same time. Two fps maps, Arccorp landing area, and 1.1. Holy fuck are there going to be lots of fresh bugs in a month.
There will also be a ton more things to do in a month!

There are prizes for the top two ideas. Please join in with your [I]serious[/I] ideas for adding lots of variety to the wreckage spawns. Remember that most of the time, the ship is going to be too trashed to tape together and fly away in. Separate from that contest (which FPers are excluded from), but using the same rules, I'll give away a $5 skin or subscriber-store hangar flair (the jukebox, drinks bar, etc.) item to the best Facepuncher suggestion. You have to post your idea to the SC forum, but make the pilot's name an anagram of "Facepunch" or "Gayry Newman" (specifically [I]gayry[/I]) and post in this thread with your forum name and the name of the first pilot in your suggestions after you post the idea, and when I pick winners for the contest (sometime a bit after 5:30pm PST on the 24th), I'll pick a winner out of just the FP entries. I'll be lenient on the anagram name as long as it's close (add letters to make it sound better if you want), and you can also use an anagram of your FP username. The only other rule is, please don't be a shitlord on the SC forums in my thread. I won't pick you to win if you're on probation (banned) on the SC forums when the contest ends. You're still eligible if you're tempbanned here for some reason, though.
What features will 1.1 have? Unless I'm very much mistaken, I believe 1.2 was to be the version that featured small multi-crew ships like the Freelancer, Cutlass variants, Constellation, etc?
1.1 will have REC, more ships, the new damage system, some graphics tweaks of some type, and the Arena Commander pod, which'll have its own room either with 1.1 or shortly after when social/planetside hits. 2.0 is due for this summer, and that's the multicrew ship update. It's also the target for large instance sizes, when the game switches over to 64-bit double float precision.

They want it procedurally generated with laser schorches and bullet holes showing the interior of the ship and dynamically blowing off bits. Wohow, I just flew for the first time in about, I don't know, two months? What an amazing experience. My frame rate must have gone up by at least 50%, if not more. And with two analog sticks and two pedals, I can now almost reliably control my ship in decoupled mode after an hour of practicing. It feels so damn awesome. :dance:
Yeah I just tried Arena Commander for the first time in months as well and I'm having a blast. Really feels like they finally pulled everything together.

In addition, sensors show that the short period when the wreck is in the shadow of Nul I allows the ship to cool down enough for boarding, with high heat rated EVA gear, for about 10 minutes. But no one yet has been mad enough to brave the trip, especially with the star's unpredictable expansion phases, and with so little chance any of the loot has survived. [B]Bonus:[/B] Some of the wilder rumors circulating Ashana suggest the smugglers must have been making a break for a hidden, still uncharted jump-point in Nul I space. [B]TL;DR because I'm not a good writer:[/B] You need to get a really durable ship to reach the wreck, you then have about 10 minutes to search for hidden compartments which may contain a fortune in contraband and get the hell out. I'm pleased with the response I'm getting so far (aside from the people who skipped reading the instructions and have written out movie scripts for an entire mission starting in a wreckage), but I want more. Spread the thread link around to friends that aren't FPers, I'm still giving away two prizes on the SC forum separately from the FP contest. I wouldn't say this on the SC forums or on the subreddit, but I'm hoping to score MVP with this thread. I won't be upset if I don't get it, but I made sure to come out swinging right away with it, and I'm hoping it catches on and keeps going for weeks. Because that means fucktons of variety for the PU. And we would've gotten bored looting the same 15 wreckage scenarios pdq. I'm sure CIG would make more than 15 by the time the game launches, but, you know what I mean. No, I mean, the forum as a whole. Because the SC general chat is only about half as toxic as the general forums. Now apply that math to FP, and look at the various chats that have existed over its lifespan. :v:

I want to see how they will handle the recoil of a ballistic gun in zero gravity. I assume you will need something to stabalize yourself with magnetic boots or something. I won't want to smack myself against the wall everytime I fire a gun when boarding a ship with narrow corridors and no gravity.
