Aw. The countdown on the site is for when the gamescom doors open, not when the presentation starts, which I pointed out but isn't listed exhaustively on the site.

I'm sure someone will have a capture of the stream up within two hours of it ending, before the official rehost, unless CIG puts it on Twitch VOD as soon as it's available for playback.

had to melt my game package cutlass to get the cat, but because that was my game package ship, I also had to melt my stand-alone avenger to exchange that for a game package avenger, because the gamescom ships don't have packages. 2k starting credits instead of 5 but I'll live, got all the other perks I had on cutlass :1

I’m really looking forward to the Gamescom stream today so I decided to play a little bit of 1.1.6 Arena Commander. Man, if I ever want to kill my hype for anything Star Citizen related, all I need to do is play it.

I mean it's definitely better, don't get me wrong, but it's still such a janky and not all that fun mess.

It's a [url=http://store.madcatz.com/categories/keyboards-category/Mad-Catz-STRIKE-7-Gaming-Keyboard-for-PC.html]$300 rubber dome keyboard[/url], built by Saitek/Mad Catz, with a coat of white paint.
That's like, the perfect storm of stupidity.

I had a Saitek Cyborg, their basic keyboard, and while it did last 3-4 years it would sometimes cause blue screens on early drivers when I hit the macro keys, and the paint started flaking off like fucking crazy after a year.

The persistent universe demo thingy was pretty neat but god damn they need to stop with the jump cuts. I don't think they ever stayed on one view for more than 30 seconds.

Also still salty about the Saitek peripherals. If the equipment was actually good I'd consider buying them, but they chose a $300 joke keyboard (who spends $300 on a rubber dome?) and took a X52 and made the throttle quadrant worse. The X65 has touchscreen in a [I]really[/I] stupid spot, as it'll be obscured by your wrist. The mouse is as far as I can tell just a RAT with white paint and it's the same story on the headset.

also during the presentation I was regretting buying a cat over a tali, but half the reason I wanted the cat as a big ship is that it's super utilitarian and versatile. Feels like a ship you'd find in star wars, much less a streamlined fighter, and I still love it. Good to at least set 'crush' goals on what ships I want to earn in the long run, but maaaaan if something else comes up my trigger finger's still itchy
