There is no continuity to it; it's pretty much taking the bullshit grindy stuff from warframe and jamming it into a fighting game, MK9 died online pretty quickly compared to most games, and they'd probably like to avoid that to keep the development wheels greased via DLC stuff. if it turns out to be decent, it could extend the life of the game by quite a bit.
I'm probably late for this, but I was looking at the voice actors cast for MKX so far, and apparently Ken Lally is listed as the voice for Goro and [U]Shinnok[/U].

Actually, with all the returning characters, im pretty sure they're all getting their roles reprised except for Sub-Zero.
Imdb is not a reliable source, ever, at all. People make stuff up all the time for these things.
Not to say it's wrong, Shinnok is going to be addressed of course, and I hope he's in the game for sure, but there have been many cases of people just putting bullshit up on Imdb.

And number 4 and 8 is clearly Kano and D'vorah. Don't know why that's in the picture.
But yeah, Tremor, I have a lot of hope for him, if not the main roster, he would be a great candidate for DLC, kinda how they did Rain.

Also, Tremor. The MKX comic has fucking Tasia from MK: Special Forces show up, so i cant not see him making an appearance, and MK: Vita had a playable set of Challenge Tower missions as Tremor.
I honestly think he'll show up, and probably incorporate a lot of Jax's moveset.

Looks to be just good ol' Goro. It makes sense that he's just thrown in the ladder since he's a roster character this time around.
Erron is in for sure, he's yet to say single word or really do anything yet, and look at all the hype around him. It would be very surprising if he were just some OC guy for the comic.
And I'm super happy to see Special Forces getting acknowledged, along with Daegon, Hsu Hao, ect.
It shows they aren't just going to sweep all these characters they've made over the years under the rug, even if they aren't playable, appearances and cameos in Story Mode would be really cool.
And yeah, everyone is crying Jax over that picture. But I just can't see it being him. Jax is just kinda... eh. He isn't necessarily hated, I know I don't, but no one ever says "I hope Jax is in the new game!"
There's just so many other characters who could be in that spot, and most everyone would gladly give up Jax for one of their favorites.
I believe it's just some sort of tricky imagery going on, if you really look at the face, it just does not look like Jax at all, to me at least.
But anyway, on Tremor, he has been heavily request for a long time now. If there's a time for him to shine, this is it, I'm pulling for him. He has so much potential.

Also, he said that NRS are only working on the PS4 and Xbone versions. Sounds like the PC and old gen versions are being made/ported by a different dev?
High Voltage Software is handling the PS3 and 360 versions, but NRS is making the PC version.
The only concerns I have are framerates for those playing on PS3/360. 30 is unacceptable for a fighting game.

Should that be a thing to be worried about? I only owned the last MK on ps3 and didn't see many complaints about the PC version..
