Like I can be a huge asshole with Johny and Kabal with shadowballs, nutpunches, and kickspam.

There are no tricks to doing it. You go into training mode and practice them over and over again.

Easy when they are standing still and not blocking, but against a good AI or player it's tough, I also have this awful habit of advancing towards people and fucking up the combo opportunity by starting it off with a pitiful smack.

Yeah, they hinted at it last stream. And it was hidden in the last video.
I can't wait. I don't know exactly how they are going to make them this time around, but I hope they require a bit of skill or practice to pull off.
The opponents are probably going to end up as a pile of mush by the end of some of them.
If they are all completely unique, it will essentially be like a mega fatality for each character, and given the gore system in this game, they are going to be awesome. UUUNNGG excited.
I wonder if we will get any new character revels?

Fusing Jade's stuff with her 3rd variation is pretty impressive. Seems like they're really fleshing out character strengths finally.

Only thing I don't like about that variation is that it's still too Jade-y. The idea of Kitana using her weapons is cool, but some of the moves (the shade kick) makes it seem they just threw Jade's exact gameplay style in to make some people happy. Hope they didn't add in the projectile invulnerability too.
IDK I may be just nit-picky but I feel like they should've gave it more of a Kitana-y style to it rather than an exact copy of Jade. Though I won't complain too much, I love Jade's character and she was my main in MK9. Plus I still don't know too much of it, they really glanced over it during the stream.
And it still looks cool as hell though.

Actually not many are taking it well as I have seen so far on twitter and youtube. I've seen some threaten to not buy the game. It's kind of sad really.But I do understand their disappointment. They even have a petition going on to at least add her as DLC. I admit did sign that, though more out of generosity than personal interest, because I know there are people who are dedicated to Jade much like that 16-bit guy is to Kitana.
I feel like I'm one of the few Jade fans who actually doesn't mind it too much. To me it's an honor to wield Kitana's variation in the name Jade, that's the whole point of it. Besides, no one stays dead for long in Mortal Kombat. Jade and the others will come back eventually, whether it's because of popular demand or not. And this is coming from a guy that has a MK Trilogy Jade figurine in his room and has weird sexual cosplay fantasies but we won't get into that.
Strange. I've seen nothing but positive feedback.

Rain also makes a physical appearance in the battle.
I stopped by the comic shop and took a look at issue #3 that came out today that compiles the different chapters, because it includes the last section of Kotal's story that isn't online yet.

Yeah, he had a bit of development actually:
[sp]It turns out, the kidnapping of Cassie and Jaqui was Erron's own doing. Kotal had no idea. Erron is a middle man for Kotal and the Black Dragon.
Erron and Kano along with a group of Black Dragon thugs are transporting Cassie and Jaqui through a forest. They attempt an escape but Kano blasts Cassie with his laser eye, he says next time they make a move like that he'll cut off one of their legs. Erron says not to harm them, that they are too valuable.
Mavado had previously been spying on Kotal and his group, along with Sonya, Johnny, and other special forces members after the battle between Kotal and Goro, and heard about where Erron was.
Mavado, along with his group of men, confronts Erron and gang in the forest, with the intent to take Cassie and Jacqui hostage for himself, and send a message to Kotal Kahn in Kano's blood.[/sp]
There's plenty of other stuff that has gone down to this point, but that's Erron's bit for the chapter essentially.

Cassie's variations are up. We haven't seen much of what she can do since E3, so this seems proper.
Hollywood gives her aerial gunshots similar to Deathstroke's from Injustice, as well as the Cage classic: the Nut Breaker.
Spec Ops gives her airstrikes, as well as a cool salute taunt.
Brawler turns her into a grappler. She even gains an air throw.
and OH MY SWEET MERCIFUL FUCK she just destroyed Quan Chi's face. Brutality montage!
I'll be honest, I was expecting brutalities to be [I]more[/I] brutal and fast paced. There are over 100 of them though so that's great.
