Uhhhh, I like hidden/unlockable characters. It adds mystery, a challenge, and a goal to it. I always loved trying to complete the roster.

While those are true thing it's a real pain in the ass when you invite friends over to play or they invite you over and you can't play all the characters.
Every single character so far that I thought "Nah I'm not interested" has surprised me and made me interested. Every single character looks like they have at least one variation I want to play.
I'm sorry, but I don't see why everyone has such an ecstatic hardon for Erron. I mean no offense, honestly, I just don't see why everyone loves him so much.

Not that all of these character necessarily added much variety but still.
I know the roster is not final but if we lose all these it would kinda suck.
I would be most upset about Cyrax, Smoke, and Kabal.
Shang Tsung is still a possibility I think. If you mean Shao Kahn instead of Kabal, then yeah he's gone.

The roster only has 4 slots left on it and we already know who they are (Jax, sonya, jacqui, and Kenshi) since we've seem them in action in videos/leaks. There's still DLC though since MK9 got 5 characters and Injustice got 6, though we already know who the first 4 are so any more after that are gonna be a long ways off. Either way though, ermac is already in the game so you don't need to worry about him.
Given that Rain Cyrax and Kabal have their special moves featured in that bonus addons mode I don't think we'll be seeing them, though.

I get when people don't like to lose their favorite characters, but I prefer it when fighting game series have radically different rosters from one game to another
It makes them each have their own feel, its one of the best parts about street fighter 3

I don't think they should have gotten rid of all the cyborgs. Cyrax and Sektor were my favorite characters when I first got MK3, and I remember countless hours of trying to unlock Smoke in MK2 (no we didn't get him ;-;)
Kabal and Baraka were pretty unique characters. I'd probably buy a DLC pack if it had one of them in it.
Personally I actually would've liked them doing a serious take on Bo Rai Cho. The idea of a badass drunken boxer/old master totally fits, and would be awesome to play. I always thought that, stupid "comic relief" aside, his fighting style in the MKDA/MKD/MKA era was awesome looking. Considering how much they improved Shinnok, I could see them doing it really well.

They said there will be an unlockable character so there might still be someone we dont know about.
I mean its unlikely, but theres a possibility they could pull the rug out from under us and have a couple of characters kept secret until launch, i know its unlikely, but still. They said that there will be characters in the games story who wont be playable, but who knows. My moneys on Fujin or Baraka.
Shoulda had Chameleon in there. He woulda worked perfect with he variation system, and replaced some of the missing ninjas.
