I swear I have no seen one person with a good connection even when I go into the AUS Rooms everyone just grey bars, do I need to open ports or something? I've got these ports open [t]http://i.imgur.com/ig4S2Tx.png[/t]
Is the game meant to be running at 30 FPS in the menus and such? It feels like it shouldn't be doing it.
Is the game meant to be running at 30 FPS in the menus and such? It feels like it shouldn't be doing it.
Nope that's normal.
Man, it'd be so awesome if x-rays and fatalities weren't locked to 30fps...
Does anyone have a guide on how to decode this: JIP 11b2 212 db4 10 hits 23% damage I've never known that this was how people shared combos.
Does anyone have a guide on how to decode this: JIP 11b2 212 db4 10 hits 23% damage I've never known that this was how people shared combos.
Dunno what JIP (jump something something) is but 11b2 = square square back triangle, 212 = triangle, square, triangle, db4 = down back cross.
Dunno what JIP (jump something something) is but 11b2 = square square back triangle, 212 = triangle, square, triangle, db4 = down back cross.
Is there some kind of list or key for this stuff.
Highest Damage % I got with Kano is 53% but it isn't possible in a real scenario as it uses an enhanced move with X Ray. I need to experiment in the corners now as it is probably possible to push some of these %'s higher. I also know Kitana's Assassin form has one of the highest damage % kombos but it looks like a right bastard to pull off.
X-Ray really doesn't seem worth it when you do combos, the Kitana X-Ray only did like 9% damage. Here's Kenshi 30% barless. [vid]http://a.pomf.se/oxyqeo.webm[/vid] B1 into DB1 xx F23 into DB1
Man, it'd be so awesome if x-rays and fatalities weren't locked to 30fps...
They take so much processing power that they were animated with 30 fps in mind, so it will never be changed in the future. Hopefully they get the goddamn netcode right, but knowing the pc developers (not netherrealms) I don't see it happening fast.

Analog stick with input shortcuts on (I use wireless connector for my X360 controller). It's pretty goddamn hard but after hours of doing it you get used to it. I literally did the combo I posted yesterday (42% damage) for like an hour and half or so if not even more, just repeating the thing until I got the hold of it. I'm newbie to fighting games tho (last game I seriously played was Tekken 3) so that might be the reason it takes me so long (and I train so hard). Plus old X360's dpad is trash. Playing on keyboard makes me do smooth combos but it just feels uncomfortable playing fighting game on a keyboard.
Question: I've never played a fighting game on PC before but have a good bit of experience on consoles. However, I do not want to play with a controller anymore so how difficult is the switch? I play plenty PC games, just never a fighting game.
Also if you corner the opponent with the combo above and use the X-Ray you can deal some massive damage. [vid]http://a.pomf.se/ruyhfp.webm[/vid]

Here's another newbie friendly combo that packs quite a punch. [vid]http://a.pomf.se/yujglv.webm[/vid] It deals 30%/40% depending on have you used power up or not. 112 into EX DB1 xx D2 (I should probably stop posting so many webms.)

Man, Liu Kang is just cruise control for destroying friendships. [editline]17th April 2015[/editline] Oh, now he's offline without saying good-bye

Now that I really think about it, Ash from Evil Dead probably could make it into a DLC pack. The first movie was distributed by New Line, which is owned by Warner Brothers.
Is it just me, or is Cassie Cage's arcade ending just absolutely slathered with meta-irony? (Spoilers for that ending, story mode, and a few other arcade endings below) [sp]Cassie is assigned after the Shinnok ordeal a mission to hunt down some soul-stealer, who turns out to be Shujinko, and winds up killing him. Clearly this is Shujinko getting Hsu Hao'd, since it assumes he's generally unliked enough that him being murdered in an optional ending to boost the cred of a new face a bit more wouldn't really rustle any feathers. but why is Shujinko unpopular? - He was the figurehead of an attempt at a "new start" in the franchise, where most of the regular cast is done away with to make way for new blood - Despite the attempt to bring in new faces, Shujinko had very little character of his own and was really only interesting by virtue of older cast members. He's "The guy who can do both Scorpion's spear and Sub Zero's iceball". In fact, a pretty persistent gripe about new guys during this era was that they were supposed to be new blood but a whole lot of them boiled down to a reskinned old character or several old characters mashed together. - He was pushed super, SUPER hard in his debut. Story mode is all about him, and how he eventually winds up better than everyone he encounters. It turns out that he's had a hand in damn near everything. And, although it didn't pan out as expected and was thus aborted into Armageddon, he was clearly supposed to take over the dead and corrupted Liu Kang's role as the good guy team leader. Cassie Cage - Is the primary focus of a literal new generation, filling holes caused by old characters dropping like flies - Leads an entire team new blood comprised of characters defined by their connections and blood ties with old characters. And, if Kano's arcade ending is followed through, will be soon be butting heads against the kids of the characters their parents butted heads with. - Is pushed super, SUPER hard in her debut. Almost all of story mode is about her family and team. A whole lot of the dramatic tension focuses around her or her parents saving her or her parents. And she's ultimately the one who takes down an actual god in one-on-one combat. Story-wise, she is essentially the new good guy team leader now that Liu Kang is... dead and corrupted... So old old-new-generation Shujinko is essentially killed off by a newer-new-generation Shujinko to show that the old Shujinko was a dumb idea and new Shujinko is great[/sp]

Just make sure you have a n-key rollover keyboard.
It's ok. Just make sure you have a n-key rollover keyboard.
That scared me because I didn't know that was a thing when I ordered my computer, here's the keyboard that came with it: http://www.amazon.com/AGPtek-Illuminated-Ergonomic-Backlight-Keyboard/dp/B00H7092DC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1429240158&sr=8-1&keywords=azza+delta+gaming+keyboard It specifically said "anti-ghosting" in the title on the site I ordered it from... The English is horrible, I can't tell if it'll have this problem.
Basically you'll want a keyboard that can press a large number of keys simultaneously. An easy way to test it is just mash out a set number of keys at once and see if anything comes out. Most I can get up to is 6. 7 doesn't put out anything (ghosting them, as far as I understand it). The higher that number is, the better your control will be, as it'll register all your keys, even in the most extreme circumstances. Considering my keyboard's like $12, and performs great for this, I don't think you'll run into that problem.
I'm having some trouble trying to perform some fatalities that requires pressing 'up' in between. Case in point, one of Ermac's fatalities (Inner Workings) is crazy tough for me to pull off because he would always jump. I tried inputting while guarding, but that appears to be only a MK9 thing.
It works in MK X. Go to fatality practice and try it out a couple times. His specifically is tricky. Hold block, hit down up, let go of block, hit back.
Surprised no one posted this yet.
