Clinkz can do wonders,just wait for your team to engage the enemy team until your team all die and rage while the enemy team all have super low hp...that's when the road gets cursed.
I am unsure how this happened but I won a game with a Russian Omniknight that rushed an Orchid and got it at 25 minutes.

If I sold force staff or glimmer, the idiot OM or invoker would have died several times, if I didn't have blink I wouldn't have had the positioning for my ult. I had about 6k sitting in bank for the last 20 minutes, 10k but the end.

For maximum damage, the only thing you lacked was Aether Lens, in place of Glimmer probably the best. (I would)
I figured it was worth to have some invis considering invoker was the only other invis, and he was trash anyway so they didn't buy detection for him

you stack ancients with helm, afk farm yasha to help you farm faster, then farm up your stacks and complete the sny. now you have hp, damage (more damage cause str x ult), movespeed in addition to your E to help counter being kited, and all in the one easy build up slot efficient item. Getting this information from all the svens who buy sny and proceed to fail because they don't have the required damage and attack speed + no initiation to do anything.
Every sny armlet sven I see rushes those and ends up being useless because he can't initiate, gets killed easily because no avatar, and lets his targets escape because not enough damage and speed to 3 hit stun assault crucial enemies, who then run away because no blink dagger to chase either.
Sny is somewhat of a wasted slot and gold to me. That gold could go for a reaver later, or for anything else you might need.

Actually, a sven with treads, sny, armlet and hotd couldn't do the damage he was supposed to between the 30-40 min mark.
Typicaly, what I usually see are svens doing all that crap and having minor success, until the mid game, where they don't have much else other than that, and their damage falls flat and they just can't pin down everyone like they should, and yes with the ult on.

With the max cleave build Sven can farm an insane amount of gold in a really short period of time. Basically after I had played for a year or two, I always had the picture in my head that Sven was among the most useless carries in the game, and that's mostly because nobody I played with could play him well at that point, nor were we much into picking any synergy with him.
Seriously, get Sven some stacks as a support, pick some good AoE lockdown and give Sven to someone who can efficiently farm and you'll see a beast come to life.
As Clovis has said, Sven suffers from being kited and S&Y mitigates this while also helping him to farm and boosting his ult damage. People will often block ancients so unless a support is johnny on the spot with dewarding I will stack regular jungle camps as backup (again, good supports will do this for you, but it rarely happens).

Still think sny is more of a waste of cash compared to almost anything else. A moonshard is a little bit cheaper and tons more useful.
Getting kited wont be a problem if you got a dagger and your trusty stun, which honestly you should, along with BKB. SnY might not completely solve the kiting problem either, and in the end, you just blew time filling a slot with 4200 gold that could be used for anything else more useful.
I just don't think its the ideal item for sven. It's ok at best, just to mitigate a couple of problems here and there. Also, because IMO, a good sven is a sven that doesn't needs to swing it a lot of times to do a difference.
But how is it a trashy excuse?
I'm not gonna expect every game to be so easy that I could farm 3 rapiers and never lose them. I'm gonna expect the possibility of the enemy actually doing what it should do and look for me or my teammates and deny us time to farm, for example.
How do u point out how Sven is weak to kiting and then call SnY bad
It gives health, armour, movespeed, and maim, on top of more attackspeed (and DPS on a whole) so you kill better anyway so you don't need to chase for as long
Plus it goes insanely well with HotD, and most Svens still get blink along with their SnY anyway, especially since only having Blink or SnY and not the other still leaves you vulnerable to being kited
