The problem with that is that your cast ranges are so short and you have to stay in one place to channel your 5 second disable, which only gets an average increase even if you bought Aether Lens.
That, coupled with being [i] really slow[/i] and mana hungry makes it hard to justify Rhasta over Lion; there are plenty of other core positions in this meta that can shred towers without needing Rhasta wards at the moment.
rastas ult is fucking garbage right now anyway
If you have someone else to do the damage, SS is a super strong laner. Shackles is a very strong ability on a short cooldown, if you're not a pussy about it.

I take SS offlane with someone who can do damage, but otherwise has no lock down.
Ursa + Shaman is very strong in lane.
To me he is a very greedy support, like Warlock, in that he really benefits from a lot of gold. Blink, Aghs, Refresher, Euls (in part to combat that nasty movespeed) and so on. I really don't like playing him because you can rarely afford items and you can't even take Tranquils for the movespeed because he needs the mana from Arcanes even more. Consequently Lion is way better in a strictly supporting sense, but Rhasta is not bad as a greedy support/pusher. In other words they seem similar at first glance but are actually quite different.

When I do play support which I dont often do,I always end up picking him,got a good winning streak with him so far.

I've climbed this patch with earthshaker, zeus, and ember same as every patch
consider playing fun heroes ur good at since u seem to just play fotm a lot to inflate >_<
As SS, I tend to have heaps of deaths because I value my lane partner getting a kill over my own life, which tends to work out well later.
He only needs arcanes, a smoke, and a force staff to be effective, all while buying wards.
Every item after that makes him a lot better, but is a luxury if you're playing 5th support.

Pugna's fucking fun. I've won a few games with him, just because of how he can cover a few roles easily, and is way too good at killing.

The problem is that most spectres (or at least the ones in my games) don't rush radi. They go phase , urn / drums. Items which make the hero far more dangerous early game and allow them to join fights (Or chase down enemies).

Just now I had a game with an absolute shit lane where I got almost no farm, I went phase urn aquila drums and was able to help in fights and still get radiance.

ive tried playing supports and its kind of fucking annoying sometimes when you have shit carries, but when you have good carries and you play a good game its quite rewarding. just get arcanes blink on earthshaker and wait for retards to group up and 5 man push, and just wombo combo them. win every teamfight ever, its like a billion damage ravage if you chain it with fissure and totem. earthshaker is probably the best support to win games with, if not maybe omniknight[/QUOTE]

I generally can't stand spamming heroes cause I get bored of them too easily. I play practically all of them, usually favouring ones I haven't played recently. Checked versatility and it was 0.98.
Definitely doesn't do me any favours as far as MMR is concerned since A. I don't spam fotm heroes and B. I'm not really a master of any particular hero. I expect I could boost myself a few hundred MMR just by spamming OD/Zeus/Spec/Sven/DP/Ench but what's the point if it's not fun.

Versatility is too important,that's what gets you into a proper team.

SS absolutely isnt better than Lion what
Lion has an aoe disable and an instant kill button and his hex is just better early on, and shadow shaman has one of the worst base heroes in the game

Just won a match in 22 minutes without any deaths at all on our team because their team was full of scubs. That and we had OD and LD. 8 minute midas for the win.
