Is threads even worth it now, I would pretty much buy drums instead of them.
What, where are you even getting your numbers from. Oblivion staff is 1650 gold, wasted on PA. You don't get a second of 100% slow, you get 0.6. That's entirely negligible on a 5 second CD on a melee hero. Sniper gets the exact same slow with headshot on a 40% proc and you can still jump his ass. The geminate for melee heroes is the core of the item but it's wasted(or balanced) because everyone that wants to build it invests 1650g that they can't turn into another item later on.
The second of slow was my bad, I remembered the slow as 0.8 seconds and just rounded it up. The 800g is if you can (I'm not even sure you can) disassemble it, you sell the Oblivion staff and you have a net loss of 825 gold. It's certainly not meant to be an item you'd go late-game with nor is it an item I'd build in every game, but a guaranteed headshot when you blink in sounds pretty fun. Not to mention the possibility of getting that 2x crit.
That said, in this whole argument I forgot that in the beginning I mentioned the build as "fun", not necessarily efficient.
It's been over a year since I've played a real match of Dota 2, but I feel like it's the perfect time to break out my patented mid Lich.
With the changes to creep experience bounties, if you sacrifice the ranged creep every wave, you're denying 40% of your lane opponents experience and taking it all for yourself. Factor in denies on melee creeps, bounty rune control, and how effective Frost Blast is at bullying opponents out of lane, I feel that in this patch Lich can push any lane's experience swing massively in his teams favor.
Of course, this is all theorycrafting, ignoring mid Lich's biggest problem, how easy he is to gank and/or dive.
Seriously though, Lich's control over a lane's experience equilibrium is so absurd this patch that I wouldn't be suprised if he becomes a highly contested support pick.
scan is the worst thing added in dota ever

It does sound fun as hell on paper, jumping in with a double crit and instantly deleting a hero from the game would be extremely satisfying. Downside is classic dota rules, you'll never get that combo and enemy PAs will get it 98% of the time :v:
Now that Abyssal builds from Vanguard, is an early vanguard now actually a somewhat decent option on AM if you're having trouble with survivability?
[editline]25th April 2016[/editline]
Illusions get damage block now too so I can see PL with a Vanguard/Abyssal being a huge pain with the 100% block
I'm sure it sounds petty but that single change has no joke killed my entire hype for this patch
Axes can start building abyssals now if the crimson guard wouldn't benefit the whole team holy shit

its still hard to fit into your timings without gimping your hero, but if you got one early you would really want to go fighting after it.
the old fighting phase vanguard is respectable

[del]I had really hoped the leap would be more akin to Mirana's Leap or slark's Pounce, using what appears to be the exact same arc as Toss seems like it would give the enemy a long time to react to your initiation[/del]
never mind i'm watching it again and it seems fine
reminds me of that cool ult Axe got in the Wraith Night event
Thanks I know what it's for, I play the hero a lot
I'm disgusted because now the hero is going to be clunky as fuck to use
he is perfect now for true dps build starting stuff like mjollnir and daedalus, something that people ignored at release
he is perfect now for true dps build starting stuff like mjollnir and daedalus, something that people ignored at release
No one ignored it, if anything DPS builds started on Dota 1 long before he even entered concept art stage.
I'm sorry the people you played with didn't understand the hero

Their behavior is really wonky so it doesn't seem like a permanent addition to the game. Valve is pretty fond of ARGs so...
I'll be honest, I'm gonna miss rapier rat warden
I'll be honest, I'm gonna miss rapier rat warden
I liked Arc Warden as a concept, but when I realized (and witnessed) that rapier shitfest I felt very differently.
was the most unfun and broken hero in the game when played well
was the most unfun and broken hero in the game when played well
I've played Arc Warden only once, I was shit at him and even still I did so much with that stupid build.
does clone XP still go over to main warden? you could buy tome of knowledge and use it everytime you clone yourself

They'll cherish their oddball hero and demand it gets buffed but god forbid Arc Warden not be turned into garbage
does clone XP still go over to main warden? you could buy tome of knowledge and use it everytime you clone yourself
in my test it only gave xp to the double, and even levels, same with midas
either this is a bug or intended
clone keeps all xp and levels too, and can be leveled separately if given free levels, wtf
I've only played warden once, 2 months ago apparently, Jebus time flies fast.......

I'm definitely not a fan of this hero for sure, its like a lamer version of nature's prophet but at least you can have 0 deaths for whole games so that's a +
the first time I played arc I went mid and got a first blood on TA. fun times
still lost
I don't have access to the test client. Help.

Everyone talking about irrelevant changes when the most broken change of this patch is Puck's Illusory Orb speed being increased by 1.
C'mon, guys, Puck first pick first ban, calling it.

I'm pretty mad about Arc Warden basically being removed as a concept, why even have the hero if they're just gonna remove his oddities anyway? They should've came up with a way of nerfing him while not ruining him entirely, because he's garbage as fuck now.

In case you missed Manila puck is strong right now and ban worthy in the first phase
