I want to get into Dota 2 having not really played it since beta. I had 500 hours in Heroes of Newerth so I'm not completely stupid when it comes to MOBA's but what's a good hero to play if I don't want to completely fuck my team in case I'm being bad?

Since you have 500 hours in HoN, just pick random heroes and recognize them as you go. You already know how to play the game at a basic level most likely, so you can build on that by yourself, or you can google guides and stuff if you feel like it.
I'd suggest upping your farm game and support game first then focusing on mid lane and off lane when you are proficient at getting farm and making use of time.

Well easy hero's to play would probably be drow ranger,juggernaut,riki,slark.These are all agility hero's 'cause i hardly ever play strength and intelligence.

Just finished my 24th match of LP. No luck in winning, again. Always goes the same way, we kill them pretty well first half, then my teammates fail to end it quick enough and they wipe us near the end. Never wanna be in LP ever again.

I had a friend flame me for using euls on him while he was dueling, and he wasn't even new to the game.

it was quite the series of events. First i got an abandon because real life interrupted at the worst time. Just two wins in LP, simple enough. Except trying to win in LP with single draft can be complicated, because LP holds some of the worst of the worst. After a few games I won, then i had to win the second game. For some reason I can't comprehend, my internet went to hell. I entered the match just normal, but my ping was around 1k-2k and it would fluctuate from that to regular. I could not get anything done, so i abandoned rather than watching as i teleport across the map because i'm loading things in. Another 2 games, well shit. I tried it again the next day because I thought it was just a one time thing, but it wasn't. Turns out my wireless adapter was on the fritz and was causing my internet to lag to hell. Got a new one, and now i'm back where I started.

I tried : restarting dota 2 (about 10 times); restarting Steam after game validation (about 4 times)
I would like to see reinstaling dota 2 as my last option. Is there anything else I could try ?

I don't think i have seen such a TERRIBLE mid player in a while, not only he went full retard with the pick he made (AA), but kept dying and blaming it on having no wards, also i get AA ult is hard to land and can miss by a few units, but this dude threw it on the totally opposite direction, like he wasn't even trying, or released the ball asap, ulting in front of him.
I love how people bitch and moan about having no wards, even if there are some planted, shows how much they look at the minimap.

Astral imprisonment blocks XP from denies. Or at least it used to, I don't know if it actually does so still, but I play as if it does.
Edit: This is no longer true, XP is gained from denies while imprisoned. (tested in lobby)
