i did. but you misread because i didnt say hes out of the meta, i said hes currently really weak
hes not a bad hero but he cant be run mid most of the time due to unfavorable matchups, and the other meta safelaners are just stronger right now (sven, slark, spectre, etc.) his winrate shows this by being very low in datdota for this patch:

depends on what you need to do. vs 1 protect 5 lineups or vs certain heroes (i think eblade is better vs medusa) the extra magic damage is better. depends on your priorities. also is better if you get a dagon, an item a lot of people dismiss on zeus despite it being strong as an alternate build path.

nah hes objectively weak unless you last pick him, not as a hero just in this meta i should clarify. he still does his ember thing pretty well.
if you want to keep lanes pushed you want the BoTs though. also good for farming your bfury anyway.
bots vs treads or phase is ~1000 gold which is ~6 waves of creeps so thats about only 3 more minutes, assuming you're only sitting in lane punching creeps perfectly, not counting passive gold or assists/towers/whatever, but by saving on TP scrolls and having better time efficiency it may be faster than treads.
of course, this is in a vacuum. the other boots make him better at fighting but fighting into 5 man lineups with ember vs heroes like DP and such in this patch is a death wish.
So glad i tried offlane ench, is exactly what I needed: pushing power and keeping enemies dead.

I love to have double ult every minute and a half, but it's pretty meh nowdays. Ethereal offers damage amp, agility (which offers armor and attack speed, latter it's a nice bonus when clicking towers) and you are guaranted to stop a nerd from auto attacking, or to kill him dead.

My favoured items are veil (or not if your supports make it fast enough, but who ever does?) lens, blink/forcestaff, occasionally euls, ghost scep if they have PA or something, octarine and finally ethereal.

bloodstone is good for extended fighting as you want to cycle through many spells and it also increases your farming speed by a ton due to the mana regen
Force Euls Tangerine Core are pretty good all rounders.
Bloodstone is broken as hell imo its a good thing not many people buy it on heroes like zeus.
You get additional hp and insane mana regen for easy farm with someone like timbersaw, you get a suicide with a arguably small cooldown and if you kill a lot of enemy heroes you can respawn instantly, does this also counter necrolyte though?
i think due to nerfs euls isnt as good but the mana regen is still a great part of it
personally, i go arcanes > aether > blink > bots (sometimes bots before blink) and from there i usually go bloodstone because i really like the mana regen.
my custom build for zeus ingame has almost every item though. you can justify a ton of purchases on zeus just due to his kit being so efficient

yeah like i said above i really like dagon too, but i wouldnt consider it my main build path during most games. i know FATA really loves it though. i do usually build eblade late game though after octarine because i find it to be extremely strong (louis can vouch for my zeus)
Trying to do the easy 3 assists in first 10 minutes support quest. I keep getting it but can never win the game to complete it. On a massive losing streak so I get fed up and go Zeus mid for easy assists. We're stomping the game. I get my 3 assists instantly. I'm like 5-1-10 when score is like 25-2.
Poor network conditions. Game will not be scored. Fuck you dota.
