I wish NPCs would actually do things when they come to settlements. I'd like to see traveling doctors, or musicians, or have some guy open his own bar to compete with mine, shit like that. It'd make the towns feel more alive, and less like a digital dollhouse. One of the things I loved about STALKER was when a random NPC would pull out a guitar and play some tunes for his buddies by the fire. Little stuff like that just makes them seem more human.
You know what mod I'm looking forward to? You guys remember that one for Skyrim that completely removed loading screens from city entrances, so you could just walk right in the door into a seamlessly loaded copy of the place? Imagine that with Goodneighbor. Or Diamond City. Or the Prydwen. No more double loading screens in the Prydwen.
Damn it Rudy. I was trying to avoid spending the next 2 days reinstalling New Vegas and a billion mods. You just had to fuck that up on me, didn't ya?
My CPU is burning just looking at those screenshots.
Am I missing somethin g or do you ever get an opportunity to ask the institute why they are abducting people and replacing them with synths?
Am I missing somethin g or do you ever get an opportunity to ask the institute why they are abducting people and replacing them with synths?
No.
Am I missing somethin g or do you ever get an opportunity to ask the institute why they are abducting people and replacing them with synths?
Nope, just gotta go along with people being kidnapped and settlements being destroyed, no questions asked.
My google-fu apparently isn't strong enough, or perhaps this is just a difficult thing to parse: can anyone link me to any of the mods out there that automatically remove or enable you to remove all the junk, garbage, and debris piles in settlements? In addition, any similar solutions for removing brush, bushes, thickets, flora, and other plant life that's littered everywhere? i'm getting sick of laying down water pumps in trash heaps, as well as building sleeping quarters where bushes are growing up from under the floor, clipping through beds and obscuring furniture. i'm sure my settlers are also tired of drinking garbage water from their generous selection of trash wells
Nope, just gotta go along with people being kidnapped and settlements being destroyed, no questions asked.
My headcanon is they're working on misinterpreted orders. They were created to replace the WORKFORCE of society, to make rebuilding easier, but they interpret this as "physically replace the people who do the work"

Stumbled into a place that lead to a fight with 2 Mirelurk Hunters AND a Queen. The whole fight was accented by Raiders who heard the commotion but wouldn't leave their area. They were so annoying that killing them was all the more better. If their "boss" couldn't stop me with her power armor and minigun, then their pipe weapons and "witty" insults sure as shit ain't going to help. And the fact that I was using that Explosive 10mm Pistol I found made it all the more satisfying.
No.
literally the only reason I went to The Institute and did the main quest and they still never fucking answer the question
Isn't there like a terminal or something that explains it?
Isn't there like a terminal or something that explains it?
No the terminal tells you for sure they're replacing people with synths, and they never explain it
aw shit man, i was [sp]going to side with the institute and it was going fairly wel[/sp] but now outta nowhere they want me to [sp]destroy the brotherhood of steel AND the railroad!?[/sp] like what the fuck, does it get better after that or things just go down the rabbit hole?
the credits roll after that. It has been known to slowly ruin your save file.
Is it just me or are the ending slides totally piss poor? They seemed to only cover one thing and didn't recap all the side quests I did. What happens to goodneighbor? Who cares! What are the other factions doing? Whatever! Does [sp]Vault 81[/sp] stay safe? That doesn't matter!

That doesn't matter!
Ya this isn't a completionists game [editline]4th January 2016[/editline] Ugh it's bullshit I can't have the minutemen attack the brotherhood for the institute, I'm the fucking leader, but apparently preston gardners is the one who calls the shots. Can't wait for mods so someone can make a thingy to allow you to skip the nuclear option and trigger the brotherhood attack directly [editline]4th January 2016[/editline] I don't want to use the institute to destroy the brotherhood I want to use the minutemen, that way the institute isn't doing a moronic show of power, and the minutemen instantly become known as the law of the land, which is backed by the institute
[t]http://puu.sh/mj14t/e15a8098dd.jpg[/t] Hey pals! You know that Fallout 3 and New Vegas Vault Suit mod I made? Well, this dude finally got off his butt and gave me the go-ahead to use his 3 numeral, so the mod now has both all the Fallout 3 suits AND all the Fallout New Vegas suits! There aren't actually any Fallout 1 & 2 suits in this pack, so you might want to fix the OP on that front. The guy I got the 3 from already made a 13 and 15 suit, and I don't feel like making an 8 suit on its own right now. I kinda lost what color I was using for the grime.
[t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CXTI33mUMAE2cJZ.jpg:large[/t] Fuck, does it look awesome, hopefully he also does Hellfire Armour as well...
It's like this guy is reading my mind Can't wait [editline]4th January 2016[/editline] Also http://imgur.com/a/W81x6
literally the only reason I went to The Institute and did the main quest and they still never fucking answer the question
Well if you base your information off that one terminal that talked about replacing the husband of the family in that one settlement with a synth and observing crop growth after the Institute fucked with the dirt, and you generalise it for the entire wasteland, it basically means that any time you find a synth that replaced a person it was because in some way they were part of an experiment the Institute was conducting and needed a synth to first-hand observe. And given that Institute's reasoning to do anything is 'Lol science without morality' they could (and do, all the time) make up stupid experiments to see the littlest of reactions and do literally 0 followup because hey, they immediately came up with an even stupider idea to pursue. So chances are 99% of those experiments are completely inconsequential, but I guarantee every time you kill a disguised synth some Institute observer gets pissed that his/her life work is over now that they can't watch future paint dry.
I finished the institute, the airport battle was more annoying than climactic, I brought along a fully upgraded gauss rifle to compliment my long guns, damn that thing is great against palidens, 1 shot to crack the helmet, 1 shot to remove head, plus my .50 sniper polished off everything else, it really was not fun, the brotherhood quests just have so many likable people while the institute has so many punchable people, I didn't want to kill danse, Ingram, tiedem, and all the named scribes, at least with never-wears-a-helmet danse, I was quick and took his head right off, like I always warned him about. I don't like how to do the institute you basically have to remove 2 companions

And like someone said, yeah, the credits roll after you destroy the last opposing faction of your faction.[/sp]
I wish I did Danse companion's quest before [sp]blowing up the Prywden[/sp]

Wait, what happens to settlements if you go with Institute?
Wait, what happens to settlements if you go with Institute?
You will never know.
Wait, what happens to settlements if you go with Institute?
All settlers get secretly replaced by synths except for Preston
Wait, what happens to settlements if you go with Institute?
Nothing.
