Fallout 4 V24: You're Tied to This Thread Kid, Your Energy

It would have been nice if maxing Gun Nut/Science!/Blacksmith/Armorer unlocked the ability to make/apply/remove Legendary effects on category specific stuff out of the box/without 3rd party mods. Every weapon I've found with a remotely useful Legendary effect so far has been a 10mm Pistol.
I'm well aware that a 10mm can carry you a good way through, but what if I wanted that Poison DOT on a Sniper Rifle instead? Or what if I feel that a pipe rifle would be better than a rolling pin for the Kneecapper mod? And on that note, anyone find a Legendary Pipe Gun without use of mods?

Value per Weight indicator for container UI (useful for determining what to loot when you don't wanna do multiple trips to carry all that shit)

Create Your Own Difficulty Rebalance (for if you feel the 50% PC damage vs 200% NPC damage is bullshit, or if you want to nerf yourself even more)
Legendary Modification (takes the fun out of finally finding an exploding combat shotgun, but takes the sting out of finding 50 anti-Super Mutant pool cues)

Settlements

Settlement Supplies Expanded (the other one, mainly decorative items, but also a fuckload of doors that don't need to snap onto the few frames we have)
Place in Red (does what it says re. settlement item placement, extremely useful for e.g. junk walls)
Functional Weapon Racks (another self-descriptive one, inc. compatibility patch for Weapon Balance Overhaul)
OCDecorator (not one I use currently, but if you want to place misc items like coffee cups or make a Mama Murphy statue out of Jet without physics ruining it all, then you'll want this)

Towbie's Realistic Weapon Sounds (self explanatory)
Simply Better Laser Sound FX (defaults are good to begin with, but I prefer these)

HUD
No shaded Power Armor hud (gets rid of that bloody irritating vignette in the PA HUD
Full Dialogue Interface (speaks for itself, really)
My HUD (a rather nice HUD replacement, but unfortunately doesn't touch the Pipboy menus)
Clean Power Armor HUD (for if you're fed up with how much screen space the default takes up)
Pleasant UI (another alternate HUD mod)

And on that note, anyone find a Legendary Pipe Gun without use of mods?

The very first legendary I found was an explosive pipe bolt action, from the basement of USAF Olivia less than 90 minutes after starting my file.
Only mods I've ever used are random crits and the shadow distance optimizer.
If it's a weapon or bit of armor, one of your settlers might pick it up and start shooting it at any raiders that show up, but apart from that I think it should be fine as is.
idk if it actually prevents this or not but I have a room in the castle with a bunch of crap laying on the floor and 2 sets of X-01 that I just block off with a wall piece to keep settlers from stealing them and leaving them god knows where
[editline]6th January 2016[/editline]
I have a bunch of sets of bos power armor standing around for them to take in case of raiders so idk if they're just going for those because they're closer or they actually don't go for the x-01 because of the wall
I imagine they'd be somewhat useful if you're at a point in the game where real plasma weapons aren't practical, or if you wanted a lighter melee weapon like the combat knife with energy damage (afaik only the Super Sledge and Power Fist can be made to do energy damage with mods). I think it causes a very small explosion with AOE damage, too.
I'm a little disappointed that plasma-infused weapons don't have green tracers, it makes the plasma splashing look a little odd with a yellow tracer behind it.
I like to think of it as the bullets having a little plasma warhead. If we ever get a mod for new ammo types, replacing that legendary effect with plasma ammunition would be nice.

if you do it right, extremely.

depends 100% on what things you combine
I had a run in with an author on the Nexus.
The context was: he created a flag retexture, it was nice, although it had an additional set of decals and some motto written in latin on it.
The user obviously didn't like it and didn't express his dislike anymore than calling it graffiti. The author didn't really take it lightly...
So I decided to express my thoughts on the elitism he used towards the said user.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/sALb67e.png[/t]
His reaction? Blocking me from all his mods.
[t]http://puu.sh/mlxAc/82a1bc145d.png[/t]
Apparently I was "stirring an argument" and was blocked for being too "socially volatile".
I'll never understand why the Nexus gives authors so much power if a lot of them are unstable people who can't handle criticism.
I love that because of all the bullshit that happens on the nexus, that text says that you will be banned if you are rude to the mod author. But if they are rude it doesn't matter.

more likely to get the moderators side just because they create addons.

I had Hancock do this to me nonstop after a certain point back when the game just came out, except he was at max hp and I never got a prompt to stim him.
I ended up dressing him in the Grognak outfit and gave him the axe. All he'd do is sit like that in his little green loincloth holding the axe upright, constantly stalking me by teleporting.
No idea what happened.

Happens sometimes with Nick for me. Just dump enough lead into the companion until they reach the HP-level where you normally can stimpak them and the stimpak-prompt should return

Huh, nice to see Damage Threshold's back in one form or another, always liked the feeling of slicing through enemies, watching their amazed faces when their bullets just bounced off my power armour. You can't beat that feeling of being surrounded by the devastation you hath wrought while still being at full health
Are there currently any mods that increase enemy spawns, or will we have to wait for the GECK to see those? Pining for another feral ghoul rampage mod.
Thanks to some neat work by Bethesda, NPCs will recognise if they can't damage a target and will flee from it, so when a Vertibird flies over expect to see raiders running in panic as it scythes them down!
they programmed this cool as shit feature into the game, but it never triggers because they decided not to use DT?
the fuck?
they programmed this cool as shit feature into the game, but then never used it because they removed DT?
the fuck?
probably an early design change.
they should have kept it (DT) however
But DT was great and made so much sense?, the first time i wore power armor in NV after a light armor sneak play-through i was amazed at just how good it felt to have bullets ping off your suit as you waded into whole hordes of enemies.
Youd think swapping to DT would have been a priority for bethesda considering the effort they put into making power armor seem massive and intimidating.
they programmed this cool as shit feature into the game, but it never triggers because they decided not to use DT?

Probably because they wanted firefights between birds and raiders to happen
According to Vault wiki there is a cut NPC called Patches that was meant to be a merchant in the "Combat Zone"
Guess it was originally more then what it is now.
According to Vault wiki there is a cut NPC called Patches that was meant to be a merchant in the "Combat Zone"

The Combat Zone was such a wasted opportunity that literally anything else would've made it "much" more" than what it is right now.
Dude I actually downloaded a mod that's supposed to allow for 50 settlers max but so far I've only been able to get like 7
Why?
With unmodded vanilla installation, you can already get a maximum of 41 settlers.
With some mostly unrelated mods, you can just get those 41 settlers a bit easier.. (Like crafting yourself Legendary Charisma armor pieces, which are needed in order to convince 41 settlers to move to a settlement. You also need alcohol, drugs etc. :v:)
I look forward to the mod that replaces whatever the current armor system is with DT.
DT made more sense to me than most defense/damage reduction systems in RPGs.
You're asking why? It's pretty obvious why, dude..
It takes a long time for a settlement to fill up. While you wait for it to get to 41 settlers you'll have to to wear full charisma gear, take chems, and then wait in the same spot for several in-game weeks, which is annoying. A mod that just increases the max to 50 from the start is way better.
use a feeder settlement, there is no need to constantly have all that shit running.
