Then code and program the entire thing a little more advanced that it depends on the size of the group of raider NPCs on whether they attack the vertibird or flee or something. One raider wouldn't attempt to shoot one, but a group of 10 and more would. Same for NPCs wearing Power Armor and such, there are lots of variables here that could have been implemented. It's like Bethesda doesn't even want to try. I'd love to have individual raiders run away from me when wearing Power Armor, but if a group of 10/20 came running at me they would certainly not be afraid to try killing me.
Ding ding At some point they probably realize that while they could do all this stuff, why bother when they could keep it simple while worrying about other things (especially when they'd rather just get the game done in their timeline) I feel like Bethesda games are characterized by half executed ideas because they know they don't need to fully execute any of them due to mods & a player base that buys more into the premise than the actual game.
You're asking why? It's pretty obvious why, dude.. It takes a long time for a settlement to fill up. While you wait for it to get to 41 settlers you'll have to to wear full charisma gear, take chems, and then wait in the same spot for several in-game weeks, which is annoying. A mod that just increases the max to 50 from the start is way better because you can actually play the game while you wait for the settlements to build up.
The point was to command the settlers to move to a new settlement. Whether it's drugs and charisma pieces.. You could also use the console to bump your Charisma to like 40. That's what the mod "basically" does.
I had a run in with an author on the Nexus. The context was: he created a flag retexture, it was nice, although it had an additional set of decals and some motto written in latin on it. The user obviously didn't like it and didn't express his dislike anymore than calling it graffiti. The author didn't really take it lightly... So I decided to express my thoughts on the elitism he used towards the said user. His reaction? Blocking me from all his mods. Apparently I was "stirring an argument" and was blocked for being too "socially volatile". I'll never understand why the Nexus gives authors so much power if a lot of them are unstable people who can't handle criticism.
I gave him some criticism. I feel he'll take it the same way.
Any ideas for a gimmick/challenge playthrough? I was thinking of doing one as Mike Haggar, using only the Lead Pipe.
Play as Bing Crosby and kill people with your voice.
Any ideas for a gimmick/challenge playthrough? I was thinking of doing one as Mike Haggar, using only the Lead Pipe.
Start with the Pipe, get Piper and when you find a super sledge call it Pipest.
Start with the Pipe, get Piper and when you find a super sledge call it Pipest.
Better yet, I make my character Mike Haggar and only use a lead pipe and pipe revolver
Guys I thought of an amazing idea for enemy rebalancing: what if after level 10 everyone stopped using pipe weapons

I'd love to see the return of vehicles to a modern Fallout game. I'm not even asking for Mad Max/RAGE-style vehicle combat, just the ability to drive around a big map, like a more gameplay-integrated version of the Highwayman. Imagine driving down an overgrown highway in a nuclear jalopy while listening to some blues, with the serpentine wreck of a freight train wreathed in kudzu stretching out alongside you. Given how Bethesda-style Fallout games have such an emphasis on long stretches of contemplative sight-seeing, it would fit the tone and pacing well.
So I just installed My HUD what the hell is it doing
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2707/? Just download that mod, fixed my error.
I found a link to the 15.11 driver itself (man, AMD's driver site is really badly laid out, isn't it), lets see how that goes before I start cherry picking DLLs :v:
Anyone else kinda disappointed in the way they went with this game compared to the last one? I mean, it's great and all, but it feels like they released an undeveloped game when it came to story. Maybe I just haven't played the game through enough times. I love the game mind you, it just feels like the story is a bit lacking. I'm hoping obsidian gets to work on a new fallout game using fallout 4's engine. New Vegas felt vastly superior compaired to 3. [editline]6th January 2016[/editline] And 4 for that matter, on story.
I've played this game the least of any other Bethesda game. A month into Skyrim, I probably had 3 different saves with 60 hours each. I played NV on Ps3 religiously. I had multiple saves with 40+ hours on each. I was always eager to try new builds. Fallout 4? I don't even feel like playing it. It's a one-trick pony.
I can't bring myself to play it knowing that the G.E.C.K isn't out yet.
It felt like you could see and do most of what Fallout 4 has to offer pretty early in the game compared to the other Fallout games. I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy Fallout 4, but I really wish it just had more things to do. Although, my issues with the game might have something to do with the fact that I was more hyped for the modding than the game itself.

Because now doing everything on foot in FO4 is reasonable in terms of travel time, also the occurrence of enemies/anything is scaled in this way (i.e. you can't walk 1 minute in any direction without encountering something, imagine driving around then). Then again they could do it with Skyrim, so why not with FO4... I kinda like the scaling of Skyrim more because it feels bigger, even though the effective "area where there's shit to do" might be the same as FO4.
I feel like the odd one out here. I am up to 282 hours total in Fallout 4. My New Vegas is something like 370.

Everyone knows the most fun part of a Fallout game is your second playthrough, where you know where everything is and can sequence break like crazy if you want to. My second playthrough is always character themed. For instance, my second NV run featured Hank Hill, whose only weapon choices were unarmed, explosives and fire.
I'm hopeful once the G.E.C.K comes around that we'll see ourselves finding a lot more fun and value in the game. Of course the base game should have that by default, but I see for a few of us including I, that is just not reality. Personally its a smaller issue than the ones you guys have discussed like cut-content or weak story but I really wish there was more guns and more mods. I can't wait until I get my hands on the G.E.C.K because of the dumb shit I wanna put in.

It's clear that they needed to innovate and make new things like they did from morrowind to oblivion when they translated from the previous gen to the next, but they just didn't bring anything new to the table for this gen, and what they did bring to the table made an ok game, but a bad fallout game.
I am enjoying fistfighting more than I thought I would in this game, I would've loved to have a short boxing arena segment here.

I for one will try to allow the changing of caliber used for any gun. .45 combat rifle? Now it's a .50 10mm pistol? It's a .44 now.
There are a lot of systems in FO4 that I'd love to see kept though. The advanced weapon modding, the way power armor is handled, the new and much less obtuse radiation system, the crit meter in VATS, stuff like that.
