I added in a second wall right in the middle of Sanctuary because last time the town got attacked, I swear the enemies spawned like right in the street instead of at the bridge (not sure why the screenshot quality is bad). [t]https://db.tt/UPpKQNpB[/t] Reposting from last page:
Why do the searchlights in my settlements sometimes have no light, even while powered and rotating as usual?
Also noticed it with a ceiling fan, which spins but produces no light. Does anybody know why this is?
They just sorta stop doing light after a while. Turning power source off and back on again fixes it.
Has anybody extracted the textures for the perk icons yet? I'd rather like to use the Vault Boy image of Hancock from the Isodoped perk as an avatar.
Is there a way to get the game to initiate a raider attack on a settlement? I want to test out my defense maze.
Another mod idea: When you build things for your settlements it causes a ghost of the object to appear and settlers or robots will come and "work" on it. They then show up next time you come in, assuming enough time has passed. Also: different shop models.
There is this mod that allows you to put cash registers versions of all shops, and clinics get a medkit.

Ignore the bleeding damage and its still a fantastic close-medium range weapon. The bleeding just makes it that much better.
Why do the searchlights in my settlements sometimes have no light, even while powered and rotating as usual? As pictured.
It's a bug. If it's connected to a switch, just switch it on and off. Or just turn all the electricity off and then on. This happens to all of my Search lights, the one that produces Defense. I just switch them off and on when I happen to go by them. Sometimes other lights that cease to function (ceilings fans or light bulbs) you have to store them, and replace. Haven't really had much trouble with them. [editline]19th December 2015[/editline]
Is there a way to get the game to initiate a raider attack on a settlement? So, not until actual modding tools are in can modders really tinker with settlement attacks. But I guess you could simply spawn a number of enemy creatures in your settlement, not initiating a settlement attack per se.
I'm still working on the OP, don't worry yet guys. Once I have some more time I'll add in the Fallout 4 section with the recommended mods. It's coming! I haven't forgotten. [editline]19th December 2015[/editline] On another note, the guy making the Ranger Armor for Fallout 4 posted a progress update today;
Game missed a huge opportunity with having a pre war protag, especially a voiced one. I wish we got to experience the world more through the eyes of someone who has never seen most of this shit, I know I would personally flip a shit if I was used to cows and then I find a Brahmin while exploring the new world.

Its going to become the most downloaded mod. And everyone will forget the game has other armor choices.
Also I was absolutely right about the Assault Rifle - it was designed from the start as an oversized weapon for power armor. Interestingly enough it was originally known as the Machine Gun. Dunno why they changed it, seems like a more fitting name even in its final form.
I said this ages ago. It also looks like it was intended to be .308 rather than 5.56, which would make a hell of a lot more sense.

There is just so many ways you could have played him/her if so many details about them weren't forced on you.

The 2nd half is "Yes sir or ma'am I'll get right on it." Unless you go the sarcastic route on every conversation. So the character is not exactly you. It's just who you are playing as.

my current playthrough, I've done the entire main quest without visiting Sanctuary Hills once or even meeting the Minutemen. How much you want to bet that the conversation options with Cogsworth will be the same?
my current playthrough, I've done the entire main quest without visiting Sanctuary Hills once or even meeting the Minutemen. The character design is sitting somewhere weird between the usual blank slate formula and the more character-centric writing of games like mass effect and the witcher. The start of the story was originally planned to only allow for a male protagonist as shown in the artbook. Your wife was pregnant and the pipboy wasn't found on a corpse but instead a keepsake from your time in the army. They clearly changed the story to allow for both genders to be picked, but it left some odd stains like the male background making more sense in context than the female background (I honestly don't understand why the woman couldn't have been in the army as a mechanic or something). By the end it creates this weird situation where they wanted to make something drastically different from the originals but had to restrain themselves in a lot of ways so that people who didn't want that kind of story wouldn't get disappointed, and it ended up still disappointing them. [editline]a[/editline] Also all Bethesda games are missed opportunity: the game if you look at them this way. With that kind of scope you have to cut down on content to release the game within an acceptable time frame.

Even though I already know about the world of Fallout, it would've been nice to have people explain how the world works now (like caps being the new currency, etc.) to the PC. It would've solidified the background of the character.
Just release it already, nnngh :fap:
IIRC no nifskope import functionality yet, will probably be a while still
They should do some Pre-war DLC, though it might feel like a re-hash of Anchorage, but this time do it Via the memory den so it is a memory instead of a simulation.

Unless you go the sarcastic route on every conversation.
Well lets be realistic here, you can say no It's just the more annoying issue is that every response to no is like "Well alright come back to me when you eventually feel like doing it, I guess." Somebody like Maxon doesn't seem like the type of guy to take shit from subordinates. Like take a look at Caesar, if you say I'm not going to work for you" he's basically like "If you hadn't already served me so much I'd have you hacked to death with machetes, now get out before I have you killed." You just don't get that type of backlash, even if you're super negative and sarcastic all the time.
Fallout 3 had that one quest where you had to retrieve a violin for an old lady, and if you made a rude first impression she'd refuse to talk to you and cancel out the quest. Don't see why they couldn't have brought that back again
Because that would mean making dialogue choices matter
More like that would be akin to the player having made a "wrong" choice, and well that's just something that apparently isn't allowed anymore. Because the player is evidently literally the center of the wastes, NOTHING MAY PROGRESS UNTIL YOU SAYETH SO.
And if you hadn't done anything notable yet for Caesar and House they had no problems in turning hostile on you if you acted like a little shit
I think the brotherhood will go hostile if you attack the Cambridge police station. Might need to check up on that once I get around to doing my gamebreaking Junkie/Murderer playthrough
And if you hadn't done anything notable yet for Caesar and House they had no problems in turning hostile on you if you acted like a little shit
House doesn't really do that though, he'll usually say "fine, if you need time to reconsider I'll leave you to it" cause he needs a human agent to work for him. It's only if you refuse to hand over the chip that he gets mad.
I think the brotherhood will go hostile if you attack the Cambridge police station. Might need to check up on that once I get around to doing my gamebreaking Junkie/Murderer playthrough
Well, everyone turns hostile if you attack them. That's not really the point. I was talking about being sassy and confrontational in dialogue against Caesar and House, two people that don't really like being challenged regardless if you're the special snowflake player character or not.
House doesn't really do that though, he'll usually say "fine, if you need time to reconsider I'll leave you to it" cause he needs a human agent to work for him.
If you keep refusing to do what he asks he says he will find another more willingly pupil and the robots attack you Or maybe it's just the chip like you said and i'm misremembering. Long time without doing his route.
