Fallout 4 V24: You're Tied to This Thread Kid, Your Energy

I've put 3 days and 17 hours into one character already, somehow. I don't want to finish the main quest [sp]because i chose the railroad and i wasn't aware that i have to destroy the brotherhood to progress, which I don't want to do. :/[/sp]
As much as I love New Vegas, it looks like a full bright half-rendered piece of shit
Fallout 4 looks amazing thanks to a single amazing design decision. It's all designed to look like Fallout 1 and 2's CG renders, and it works beautifully.
Still better than the literal nothing that Beth did for ??? reasons
Armour attachments would clip
Armour attachments would clip
That's a terrible excuse, there are plenty of ways to prevent clipping and still allow weapons on persons.
It's also possible they couldn't find any good way to animate the holster animation for rifles and whatnot to not look horrible.
So, I have a few legendary plasma frames to choose from, and I want the best plasma flamethrower possible in terms of damage and general usefulness.
+25% damage, +10 cryo damage and freeze crits, or -30% enemy ballistic/energy resistance? I'm level 50+ and up against a lot of heavy armor now.
I'd go for +25% damage, myself.
plasma touched weapons are ridiculous, they're bullet guns that fire plasma...
+25% damage definitely, the piercing legendary effect (and auto receivers) is broken. The damage gain from ignoring damage resistance is tiny unless you're up against X-01 armored soldiers.
In my experience the plasma flamethrower instagibs everything you fight anyways
The +25% damage gain on top of the overcharged plasma flamer's final damage (60 or so ballistic and energy) would be pretty negligible too, wouldn't it?

If your opponent has heavy combat armor it does literally no damage, even fully upgraded with perks.
I'm gonna make a new character
Is it a good idea to go for 11 in all SPECIAL stats?

Oh, shit, this is a dope looking frankengun

when has that stopped them?

For some reason it reminds me of the anti materiel rifle
when has that stopped them?
the fact that bethesda probably couldn't animate them well.
TBH I'd like them to have the gun be attached to the player by a strap and when the player holsters their weapon, the weapon ragdolls on the strap after the holstering animation is complete.
This is of course for rifles, it'd be hilarious with miniguns, rocketlaunchers, and pistols having them ragdoll on straps.
Wow that actually looks really fucking good as a rifle
But now how the fuck does the slide work? :v:

it was a joke that bethesda doesn't exactly have a stellar record for animating things :v:
[editline]this isn't an actual merge but dont tell anyone or i will unleash my inner nigger on you[/editline]
really though, there's no excuse for bethesda removing holstered weapons of all things. Saying that a major game company that makes millions couldn't manage to animate someone pulling a pistol from their hip is pretty dumb honestly
how good is a double-shot minigun?
If DLCs don't do it first I hope some mods make a big gun that fires shotgun shells, like Metro 2033's Abzats.
how good is a double-shot minigun?
It increases the damage by I think 80% and then divides it between two bullets, instead of just giving you a second bullet per shot.
Your accuracy would plummet and it would be even worse against heavy armor, but it'd rip light and unarmored targets apart like paper.
So, Bethesda put recorded lines for most of the Companions, if they ever were to die...

can someone mod preston dying back in
not any of the other companions, just him
his voice acting is genuinely bad
I feel like he gets a rough break from folks- like he is a fairly straight-edge run of the mill sounding man- but those people can and do exist, even in the wacky post apocalyptic world. I think his straight-man antics would be a bit more appreciated if you had the option to play/voice the protagonist as a more energetic or humorous person. As it stands, HE ends up being the damn funny man in an ironic way compared to FirmVoice McWheresMySon.
I think his cannibalism witnessing lines show that- they're very expected and plain, but when contrasted to such a detestable act they come across as humorously awkward and normal. More of that kind of contrast would be great, I mean imagine him trying to hand-hold a 1 intelligence barbarian to lead the Minutemen.
He's just sort of the fall-man for Bethesda's failure to refine and make interesting the settlement system and writing in general.

Strong's lines are actually kinda touching, in a weird way.
Never thought I'd say that
[editline]t[/editline]
To speculate though, these lines are probably there either to ensure the unintended deaths of some of these characters aren't awkward and silent, or for mod support (knowing someone will inevitably make a "no essential NPCs" mod)

Its also possible that they originally intended to include Hardcore mode, ala New Vegas. They still could at some point.
For how annoying Strong is. He can be pretty funny.
I mean, he was the only one to point out that Deezer's Lemonade is just piss.

Problem with that... Kill Valentine anywhere between meeting him in the vault and finding Kellog's hideout, and the story can't progress whatsoever until you resurrect him.
That's just ONE example. There are a lot of ways you can totally fuck progression over by killing a normally essential NPC.
