caesar has an autodoc in his room. the legion still uses advance weaponry like anti-material rifles and ballistic fists. caesar has no interest in the securitrons - that's a different matter
the anti-materiel rifle is based on a weapon that was invented in the early 1990s which in turn was based on an action that was invented a hundred years ago. not too advanced. the ballistic fist is just a shotgun strapped to your arm. neither advanced nor particularly safe for the user. the autodoc could be explained as a last ditch effort to save caesar's life, as other than that there's no fancy technology anywhere in the legion.

I think you're both mixing up Ballistic fists with Displacer Gloves, the latter is much more high-tech

i remember caesar having a displacer glove himself
praetorians have them too and i got mixed up with ballistic fists then? just makes my point stronger i guess

i'm 90% sure Caesar has a displacer and the praetorians have ballistic fists
Caesar's Legion is kind of low-tech, but it's more because they're hoarding the tech for the high ranks. The higher ranked you are in Caesar's Legion, the more high tech weapons you're allowed to use, because it promotes respect of your superiors.
So the grunts that take on the largest blunt of the fighting are only allowed to use primitive low-tech weapons, only veteran soldiers get to use guns at all, while the really high tech shit is left for the highest echelons of the Legion.
IMHO the low techness of the legion really only works in my mind because of the game-yness of the game. Like if the lore had an fragment of sense the legion would run dry of resources extremely quickly because they spent tons of food and resources to feed thousands of soldiers who would be gunned down in seconds. Like I can on the surface level accept this because fiction but it still bothers me that the lore doesn't really try and reconcile this.
That's kind of exactly how all civilisations with large armies worked until the industrial revolution. Train a million men and expect 1/10th of them to die almost immediately. The Legion covers a HUGE area of land in the middle of America, they probably have 90% of their population working as farmers, feeding an army wouldn't be the issue.

Train is a bit of an overstatement, for most of history probably like 95% of armies were composed of peasant levies armed with simple weapons and armor and a short period of basic drill training.
Still no matter how inept NCR is, to me it is still the most reasonable method of bringing normalcy to a wasted world. Brotherhood of Steel is just a remnant of the era after the bombs when people were trying to adapt to the changed world. Either BoS will change or some other faction will gladly take the place of power they hold for now. In west coast that is exactly what happened. However the east coast chapter of BoS did change, to a degree anyways as show in Fo3 and 4. West coast chapters would have not ever wanted to recruit random scavengers to their ranks, a probable reason why they did eventually fall to NCR. [sp]Hell in one ending of new vegas the BoS chapter in movaje joined the NCR after their victory in the Hoover dam[/sp]
What the fuck, three dwellers just disappeared from my vault in FO shelter. One of them I know is gone but I don't know who the other two are, and I sure as hell didn't exile them.
Does anybody else get Caesar's Legion vibes from ISIS?
Does anybody else get Caesar's Legion vibes from ISIS?
No, not really.
How do you get the physX debris stuff? I turned it on to high and I don't see anything when I shoot the floor/walls
Did you fall down and hit your head.
I was fucking agreeing with you.
You're not very good at 90s jokes are you?
Finally found an X-01 left leg, I was begining to think they didnt exist. It only took 250 hours, and is now mostly useless as the games over

Well usually jokes are meant to be funny.

lol I spent my latest playthough waiting to get to level 28 before finding power armor, now every one that spawns in the world is an X01.
No, not really.
They're steamrolling across the country crucifying people and forcing them into a totalitarian state, the superficial similarities are pretty obvious. Maybe it was airheaded of me to compare real-life atrocities that are happening now to a video game but I don't see how nobody has made that connection before??
I think the best thing they could do is set it up like you're going to meet them, and that's one of the main points in the DLC, finding the Lone Wanderer, thought to be dead but rumored to be alive. Ultimately, you never do meet them, instead it's hinted that one of the various NPCs you meet (people who are quest relevant that have vague recollections of the character) may have been the real Lone Wanderer. Keep it all mysterious
If they wanted to have a past game character show up without save importing they could always go the dragon age route and just give you a dialogue box that says "default wanderer" or "custom wanderer"- that takes you to a separate character creation screen where you re-make your fallout 3 character's face in the updated engine.
Ofc despite the DA2 character you re-make in dragon age inquisition being just as limited as the sole survivor, they still had huge flaws with this system, (my dragon age 2 character was a blood mage who took every opportunity to bash the church- suddenly he's sent into a rage at the thought of blood magic and literally can't stop praising god).
That said, i don't think there were many choices in fallout 3 that would be worth mentioning to the current protagonist, maybe have the game ask you "did you blow up megaton?" "how did you resolve the troubles of vault 101?" "did you sabotage the purifier?" right at the start of the dlc.
The biggest offence they could commit for me is giving the LW a generic white american dude voice instead of sharing his farther's glorious accent like in my perfect headcannon.

Humor isn't universal, if you don't have the right frame of reference you probably won't find it funny.
In other words, just because you didn't find it funny doesn't mean it is objectively unfunny.

It was unfunny because it was unfunny.

Also I forgot I could have an independent sense of humor and also state opinions.

I was joking before, but you really are a loser.
wow

Wow someone doesn't think I'm funny, better call them a loser. That's the adult thing to do.
All I did was tell you your joke wasn't funny, get over yourself.
Wow! Stop!
We did for like, 14 minutes. :v:
Eh I'll just finish it.
I had an opinion, I stated it without being malicious, and in reply I got called a loser. Cool, I'm not going to be a dick to you because your joke wasn't funny. I'll just tell you it wasn't without being a dick, like I was doing from the beginning.
Recently started a new play-through and instead of actually playing i spent six hours building up sanctuary for no good reason:

What's up with the sign in the second to last picture? Are those prefab letters or something?
