The Intro
I think war never changes should have been the last line said in the intro only, rather than being in the beginning and then the end. (and then repeated by the main char trying to get it right)
Alright I think it is time to change the subject so the heat in this thread can die down. The writing in Fallout 4 can be seen as pretty weak. But what parts of the game do you believe had really strong writing?
Nick had really good writing compared to the rest of the game. Not nearly enough of him, though, and not nearly enough meaningful conversation with him. Or with anyone, for that matter.
Nick had really good writing compared to the rest of the game, but he really should've played a much bigger part in the game. There's very little of him, only a couple pieces of dialogue which is mostly just exposition, and the short quest you unlock eventually.
I believe he had the best writing in the whole game. The only companion that really had anything to do with the main story because working with him made up 1/3 of the first half of the game. All the other companions really had nothing to do with the main story outside Danse and Deacon and that is only because they are companions that come included with the factions.
For whatever reason I decided to try the deliverer with no silencer and short barrel. Even with average AP I'm able to fire all 16 shots, reload and fire 5 more, all with very high accuracy. [t]http://i.imgur.com/ZWKFPcG.jpg[/t] Hello unexpected VATS build. Now to get critical banker.
I'm just in it here to watch people here crush and destroy each other with words over Bethesda videogame logic. :v: That's still shouldn't keep them from progressing though, especially since most of the factions are outside of the city because of the Mutant treat in Boston. (Who also have also no logical explanation whatsoever again due to bad writing or couldn't be arsed really) We love you Emil Pagliarulo! :v:
Okay so your whole thing can be reduced to "they haven't progressed, therefore it's shit writing". Yeah you're right. Oh man! Why didn't they make it absolutely like Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas? Fuck having something different for a change! Gimme more politics, yes! Oh and ENDLESS FUCKING DESERT, with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in it! Yay! FUN! [sp]PLEASE CUM ON MY FACE, CHRIS AVELLONE, I LOVE YOUUUU[/sp] (User was banned for this post ("Spoiler misuse" - Craptasket))
I believe he had the best writing in the whole game. I really goddamn wish this game had better writing. I love this fucking series and it absolutely hurts to see it go this way.
Our only hope is an expansion of Nick's character in a DLC.
Diamond City is a lot more than 30 people. Everything in Bethesda games is scaled down dramatically, you can't walk from Concord to Boston in five minutes. Another example: Skyrim (the Province) in game is something like 1/10th the size of the actual province in lore.
Exactly my point, actually, because logically that means your settlements are also scaled down.
It is hard enough trying to keep 20 people happy. I think it would be impossible with 40-50 people. I run out of places to put beds in most settlements.
Exactly my point, actually, because logically that means your settlements are also scaled down.
Yeah
Our only hope is an expansion of Nick's character in a DLC.
I don't have much hope for Bethsoft DLC. Although then again, I heard The Pitt and Point Lookout were pretty good. I completely gave up on Fallout 3 DLC after playing Operation Anchorage, though, and Skyrim's DLC has been really lacklustre as well.
Some of the companions look like they were written by an intern while Emil was too busy thinking of teleporter fanfiction so i like them (specially Nick) too bad Emil came back in time to write Preston though
Yeah
Hey man, let's stop with the personal jabs aight? I ain't even talking to you anymore, let it go. Like I said earlier, if you want to continue that discussion, bring it to PMs.
too bad Emil came back in time to write Preston though
Speaking of which I got something a bit different for you.
oh you sneaky git with your quick edits [editline]21st December 2015[/editline] damn my automerge died
Hey man, let's stop with the personal jabs aight? I ain't even talking to you anymore, let it go. Like I said earlier, if you want to continue that discussion, bring it to PMs.
The most vicious personal jab of all time: "Yeah."
That's the way to go man! You got the spirit, and you're right! Why have logical writing and consistent writing, we need something different for a change! The total opposite! :v:
Yeah! So inconsistent! Like, the West is already up, what are you doing East? It's so inconsistent of you to take twice as long to get up after taking double the beating! Haha, look at these guys! [editline]21st December 2015[/editline]
Hey man, let's stop with the personal jabs aight? I ain't even talking to you anymore, let it go.
The most vicious personal jab of all time: "Yeah."
I don't remember the exact wording, but his post was originally something along the lines of "like you know what logic means" [editline]21st December 2015[/editline]
I don't know what you mean.
Oh wow, are you actually going there?
Guys c'mon drop it It's Preston mocking hour
This is how the minutemen died. They got in an argument about re-creating society.
I've heard of another writer that needs your help.
Haha, exactly man! Like, it's so wierd that's the whole East has so much trouble progressing when only the main places like D.C. only got the double beating and some places even had the luxery that their bombs fell outside of their cities and such, like on the West Coast, giving those of them the same situations to deal with to progress their society, but even without Super Mutants and the Enclave some states on the West got onto their roof as well! Yolly oh golly, so much fun! :v:
Society was rebuilt in the Commonwealth and then shaken apart again because the east coast is less stable. What is it about this simple concept that you literally cannot process
This is how the minutemen died. They got in an argument about re-creating society.
They fought eachother on who should go help the settlement
They fought eachother on who should go help the settlement
Why can't they do that now!?!?!?
So, I have procrastinated the capturing of the castle up to a point where I have so many fucking settlements. In fact, after getting so many settlements to join the Minutemen, Preston finally gave me what I believe is the "last" settlement that needs help: Sanctuary itself. Where Preston has lived since the very beginning. He's never asked me to help Sanctuary before, it felt weird definitely; I had to track down a roaming "Provisioner" supply line guy in order to "talk to the settlers at Sanctuary", where again Preston is living, watching over numerous farmers.. I'm not sure if this "Sanctuary that needs help" marked the point where I have helped out every single settlement that Preston wanted me to, and he's either unable to give new ones, or he's already given all the settlements that he can. Oh well, at least capturing the castle should be more like a total conquer.
I have come to deeply hate everything about Preston he never shuts up he constantly is chasing me down to give me shit tasks and has broke my game twice now by glitching and refusing to talk to me before the Taking Independence :suicide:
Society was rebuilt in the Commonwealth and then shaken apart again because the east coast is less stable. What is it about this simple concept that you literally cannot process
"it was shaken apart" isn't a reason. It's not an action, it's a reaction. The only thing I can think of is that the meeting between settlements got fucked up, but that's really not enough reason for the entire region to be shit.
Haha, exactly man! Yolly oh golly, so much fun! :v:
Totes, bro! Like fucking Commonwealther, get the fuck out of the safety of your walls and rebuild, yo! Fuck what you want! Don't stay in there, if you do, it's not different, it's shit writing! You don't want people to think Bethesda wrote you wrong, do you? Like, rally up your comrades and make a new Republic! Yeah! Go the New Commonwealth Republic (NCR)! Fuck different narratives man, the desert's where it's at, yo. Who wants to play a game where society still hasn't been rebuilt? No one! Gimme that shit built and pristine! Otherwise it wouldn't be like the original Fallouts at all!
I have come to deeply hate everything about Preston he never shuts up he constantly is chasing me down to give me shit tasks and has broke my game twice now by glitching and refusing to talk to me before the Taking Independence :suicide:
Welcome to the club, sorry but there are no empty seats They're all on the "Preston is my favourite companion" one
Is there any way deal with covenant peacefully? [sp]I don't like the whole kidnapping people and torturing them to death because they may or may not be synths. All for the greater good and shit. But at the same time I would like them as a settlement without wiping them out. Especially since Travis keeps talking about the place being wiped out even after I put new people in.[/sp]
