You know what, just no.
This is the closest we've gotten to the armor system in Fallout 1/2, DT and DR have been merged into a single value (as apposed to just having one or the other ala 3/NV) and we have separate ballistic and energy ratings. Of all the caveats of Fallout 4 I think the armor system is the one place where Bethesda unilaterally introduced a system that is great across the board, quit being so conservative and uncompromising.
If you actually read a full example of how fallout 4's armor system works in practice, the entire formula is fantastic. It's one of the few points of the game that is a wholesale inclusion and improvement on the game mechanics of New Vegas.
Armor piercing rounds are still a sticking point with the way damage to DR is calculated, though. They're awful against things with little to no armor, they're worse against heavy and power armor, and by the time you're at a certain level everything is too bulky for them to be worth half a damn.
Either make them temporarily reduce DR by a certain amount each shot as well as do damage, or make their damage bypass armor altogether. Otherwise they're just too weak.

This is where I keep my power armor. Also pale blue is the best ui color.
My pipboy is a nice blue while my ui is a golden yellow

Someone talking some sense. At last. The DR formula in 4 is by far the best in the series. Not perfect, but it is honestly much better than the previous games' way of doing things.

Don't use armour-piercing rounds against unarmoured targets, then. Chet in NV outright tells you not to. The thing that made AP rounds so effective in NV as opposed to 4 is that in NV they bypassed an absolutely huge amount of armour, whereas in 4 they aren't as effective (and the way they work is incredibly strange, too. People haven't quite figured it out but it's safe to say the armour-piercing receivers don't do much armour-piercing)
Take the AP 5.56 rounds, for instance. They bypass 15 DT, but a lot of enemies don't even have 15 DT. Even some of the higher-tier NPCs like deathclaws and NCR rangers had exactly 15.
It's getting done. I added your mods list to the Fallout 4 section, which looks pretty shit right now, but I'm working on that.
Also why didn't you just copy and paste the formatting and banners when making this? Looks weird. :v:

I could swap the order from New going down to Old, if people would really like.
Make sure to add a pastebin with the all the thread stuff in it to the bottom of the OP. So that way if someone else is creating the next thread they can copy the code from the OP then change it to v25 whatever. And will stop the "Your browser doesn't support HTML5 Video" messages appearing when people copy the OP with copy and paste.
The opening scramble to the vault could have used a fist fight to introduce the combat system. Other than just how sudden it was, it just seemed odd that everyone just ran there. Other than expecting you to know the basics, I take it that the apparent lack of knockouts/non lethal "kills" was a factor as well.
I don't think anyone would have wanted to fist fight with two soldiers carrying miniguns watching over the site.
Intimidate is so OP. It is also bugged as hell. If I intimidate more than one person, or species, my character will start shouting commands to kill randomly when walking around - nowhere near the targets who sometimes are already dead.
Similarly the fact that ghouls or radroaches know to stop attacking is silly.
I liked how there were special intimidate lines for different enemies, when intimidating rail-road agents you will say stuff like "drop it, agent" or "stop right there knight!" to brotherhood guys etc.
Shame they found a way to infringe further on your characters personality by making you say "drop it, you freak!" to ghoul characters, my character isn't a ghoul bigot, why would he say that?
I just realized that you can actually get longer hair as a man than as a woman in this game.
How do you know that Nate doesn't identify as a woman? It's 2̶0̶1̶5̶, 2̶0̶7̶7̶, 2287! How dare you think that just because someone has a deep voice, broad shoulders, and a well built body that they are a man! /s

Can I be your pilot? :smug:
I can't believe there hasn't been a mod that replaces the stock bar store model to the bar counter model.
I can't believe there hasn't been a mod that replaces the stock bar store model to the bar counter model.
There's a mod that puts in cash registers as stores, and can all be colored differently. You can use that on a bar counter, or more. I think it's called Conveniant Stores

I guess a ghoul would be most scared by a bigot, so it makes sense he'd use it as an intimidation tactic and not out of hatred
My pipboy is a nice blue while my ui is a golden yellow
My PipBoy is Orange and my UI is a lighter Orange, it used to be darker but I couldn't tell the difference between what was friendly as what was an enemy because of the colour being so close to Red.
Also being colourblind doesn't help.
Is there any benefit to boosting Charisma past 10 ?

I'm trying to make Big Boss from MGSV but I dunno how to fix his face up. Any ideas?
Is there any benefit to boosting Charisma past 10 ?
I have 10. I am currently enjoying a 100% success rate in persuading chumps to give me more of their cash for every little sidequest I come across, as well as in all other situations. even red checks never fail
Worst story i had the displeasure to experience in the past 5 years.
God damn i can't wait for the GECK to show up so i can mod this mess how i want.
Is there any benefit to boosting Charisma past 10 ?
Higher settler limit on your settlements. It's 10 + charisma, so with 12 charisma you settler limit is 22
Does anyone have a link to a guide on how to install mods with the new launcher stuff? I haven't installed one before too so I might need to tweak some files.
I just realized that you can actually get longer hair as a man than as a woman in this game.
Sure about that? Some of the women's hair are fixed up, in buns and combings. But I don't doubt what you said either.
There are far worse stories than Fo4s that get more praise imho
Like Fallout 3
Seriously, even if it's not an huge improvement (and it will never be a significant one when they still refuse to replace Emil after several mediocre-to-bad stories), at least its one. And hey, looks like gaming media didn't decide to give them all awards this year too like they did with F3. Things are slowly improving in every front!
Yeah for once i'm happy that FO4 didn't get any awards. Because it all honesty it doesn't deserve any. It's not a bad game, it just doesn't deserve anything.
I'm not happy for it not gaining any awards - i don't have any vendetta against it and i still had fun with the game
I'm happy that it didn't stole the deserved GOTY from Witcher 3 though
Is there any benefit to boosting Charisma past 10 ?
Your max settler population is affected by Charisma so boosting it will let you cram lots of settlers into one place. Supposedly by finicking about with telling settlers to move to different settlements, you can have a population of like 40-100 in a single area.

It didn't get any awards because it was released past all the award events.
Not like video game awards have ever meant anything.

Even then it still doesn't deserve one.

Not anymore. Indeed.
