So I don't get xp for companion kills, which is expected and as far as I know intended behavior. But for some reason, when there's a vertibird flying around shooting at raiders, I gain xp for its kills. Like what? I doubt that is intentional. I mean I'm still on good terms with the brotherhood, but if I don't get xp from companions why would I get it from vertibirds on the outer fringes of my render distance?

So question, what's the best scope to use for the close-mid range engagements the game actually has, you figure? I've been using the Gauss Rifle as a sparing "kill big tanky guy before he knows I'm around" gun but I'm thinking of starting to use it as a regular old rifle.

Iron sights is the second best. I'd rather be not zoomed in enough than way too zoomed in.
Reflex sharply decreases AP usage in VATS too, so I'd definitely recommend getting that if you're using, say, a revolver. Anything that improves hip-fire accuracy does too. Revolver with snub barrel and reflex sight gives you all six shots even if you have low AGI.

They've been using a fixed number of animations since Morrowind, it's just that each game iteration they up the count, but they leave the number of animations completely fixed. They really like having hard coded animations for some reason, so we'll probably still need scripts to get around the limit.

I went into an exit that put me on a rooftop. As soon as it loaded the area Dogmeat for no apparent reason charges forward and sails majestically off the roof. Cue a simultaneous crunching and yelping noise. And the kicker is there was absolutely no threat in the area. I'm starting to see why the Lone Wanderer perk doesn't count Dogmeat as a companion.
Meanwhile the hunting rifle is literally a joke on survival difficulty once you get literally any other long range oriented gun The ROF is just too pathetic for the low damage, not even worth using on raiders

NV has a great soundtrack of songs that I might actually listen to on my own time (Johnny Guitar aside) while FO3 just feels like "it's old fallout music!" Decent VATS gun too, but as for FPS ironsight type stuff yeah it's not very good.
Any of you know how to create a texture replacement in FO4Edit? I've managed to create a new FormID, the item does work in game, the problem is just getting it to load the correct texture.
