I might use institute weapons purely because of rule of cool. Later in the game things are easy enough that rule of cool becomes dominant over actually being good.
Anyone have this problem where you get stuck with the 'how would you like to work for me' dialogues when you talk to special recruitable settlers at the assigned settlement Scripted NPC that act as settler (i.e. Sturges, Marcy) are generally pretty wonky
I honestly thought Coursers would be something out of the Matrix, dodging hitscan bullets and shrugging off damage that would normally stagger your enemies, jumping on the walls, railings, and ceiling while firing at you, and be incredibly fast. Instead, we get something that's every other boss encounter. A dude with a stealth boy who takes pot shots at you.
I was at least expecting that you shoot them in the face and it comes off to reveal a synth face.
I was at least expecting that you shoot them in the face and it comes off to reveal a synth face.
Coursers are the flesh and blood synths though. They're just brainwashed to be pure killing machines.
Coursers are the flesh and blood synths though. They're just brainwashed to be pure killing machines.
Nevertheless, it would be utter kickass if Coursers were basically Terminators. Real life tissue but underneath a skeleton machine.
Coursers are the flesh and blood synths though. They're just brainwashed to be pure killing machines.
Even then, I wish they would push the boundaries of a flesh and blood synth. As it stands, the synths can even swing their arms all the way around to do a hammer-fisted melee attack, I don't see why they couldn't go further with that.
Is there anywhere that can teach me how to begin modding Fallout 4?
I might use institute weapons purely because of rule of cool. Later in the game things are easy enough that rule of cool becomes dominant over actually being good.
I applied the rule of cool throughout.
Is there anywhere that can teach me how to begin modding Fallout 4?
Almost every mod on Fallout 4 nexus tells you how to setup FO4 so you can install mods. [editline]27th December 2015[/editline] Unless you mean to start making mods, in that case you're just gonna have to search around.
why does everyone keep saying melee is good in this game this is actually the worst execution of melee I've ever seen in any video game ever
why does everyone keep saying melee is good in this game this is actually the worst execution of melee I've ever seen in any video game ever
its not that bad
Is there anywhere that can teach me how to begin modding Fallout 4?
I could. (If by "modding Fallout 4" you mean being a common user, not a developer.) 1) go to this location: Documents/My Games/Fallout 4 2) Find "Fallout4Prefs.ini" and add this line directly under the [Launcher] part: bEnableFileSelection=1 3) Find "Fallout4.ini" (changed from Fallout4Custom.ini in previous patch) in the same location, and these two lines under [Archive] part: bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 sResourceDataDirsFinal= And that's it. Remember, that "sResourceDataDirsFinal" part is already there, but just remove everything after that =-mark. Now, when you install a mod, you also have to add the name of the "plugin.esp" to your plugins.txt file (found in "C:/Users/[Username]/AppData/Local"), and you should keep it as "Read Only" because launching FO4 through the launcher will wipe this file and cause your installed mods not to load. Explained here (See "How to Enable Fallout 4 Mods" and "Enabling Plugins" and optional instructions like Nexus Mod Manager or Manual Extraction of mods) Also explained here (A Youtube video, when it says "Fallout4Custom.ini" he means "Fallout4.ini" because the name of that file got changed in a recent patch.) Hope this helps, try not to lose hairs over it. Hope you can enjoy good mods! Ask more if unclear, or.. you know.

Gopher made an updated version of the video after people realized that you could put any Fallout4.ini edits into Fallout4Custom.ini. That avoids you having to edit the Fallout4.ini, but still get your changes applied. Also, you can install mods through NMM. It skips the whole step of adding the plugin to the plugins.txt file, as it does that automatically. I believe it also sets plugin.txt as read-only, but I launch through F4SE, so I'm not sure.
its not that bad
when you can't even land a hit or a block because of someone slapping you upside the head with a 10mm every second, yeah, it is that bad how are you supposed to hit anything in this game when A: there's no cooldown on stagger (for you anyway) B: You have to be within close-range to land a hit which in-turn gives your opponent a chance to hit you which they will do every single time without fail causing you to stagger and thus canceling your attack completely C: literally all melee weapons are either too slow to be useful or fast enough to land a hit but not do enough damage to matter and if and when you do somehow manage to squeeze a block in somewhere within all the staggers your opponent isn't open long enough for you to land a hit and the entire situation just repeats itself

Yes indeed, Nexus Mod Manager takes care of the plugins.txt. It probably does the same thing, sets it as "Read Only" And I thought I linked the Updated version of Gopher's instructional? It should be updated. As for Fallout4Custom.ini, yes I may have said it wrong.. That file was only recently added for Fallout 4 though, to co-exist with Fallout4.ini on the side, unless I'm wrong again. Editing either should be fine though for enabling mods.

I was trying to explain that Gopher made that updated video (the one that you linked) because people discovered the stuff about Fallout4Custom.ini. My bad for being unclear. I believe that Fallout4Custom.ini was around since launch, but it might have come from one of the early patches. Not the most recent one, though. But yeah, editing either is fine, they do the same job. Doing it in Fallout4Custom.ini is probably easier to explain to new modders, though.

I hate the idea of conflicting information, and newbies being left wondering which file to edit. So correct, and be corrected.. I have no idea when they added Fallout4Custom.ini file, or if some file names got changed, and in which patch I don't know. It's hard to keep track of all things. Let's hope the guy who asked can get it to work though! I want more and more people to enjoy modded installations of Bethesda games, and it should be made easier for people to enjoy mods.
Am I the only one who find that Strong isn't really a "friendly" mutant? In FO3, Fawkes and Uncle Leo are friendly and you can feel that they have some human "intelligence" left inside the.In FO4, I feel like Strong is just some stupid ass who seeks milk which doesn't exist and he trusted humans only so he could find it.
Literally describing melee in every game where ranged attacks exist.
I meant being in range to hit will always allow your enemy to melee you and cancel your attack my point still stands, stagger is melee's downfall in this game, it makes melee practically, if not completely useless unless you're bashing with a gun
What the hell is wrong with Tactics
The story was a bit much, for me. The gameplay was fine, it's just a squad-based tactical game. But the fact that one of the endings is a robot rampage is just hilarious to me.
Yeah but it turns into the same shit over and over. Attack. Wait. Block. repeat until dead. If you dare try to attack twice, they will almost always hit you and stagger you. It's so boring, I kinda miss NV's super fast melee where I just swung like a madman and destroyed enemies with my blade of the west.
Get a mod that increases melee damage and use the Super Sledge. I use Weapon Balance Overhaul personally; it's good times. It still swings slowly and you have to be cautious against enemies with powerful guns, but you'll absolutely MURDER anyone who gets close to you. I can one hit kill Assaultrons.
vote fully upgraded war club for best melee weapon 2015

I played for 3 hours on a build testing melee and I destroyed everything except bloodbugs. All you have to do is not run in a straight line and swing just as you get in range.
