Ive been working on two more custom decks
The first is a high contrast deck

The second is the full Thoth Tarot deck, with added aids for the un-knowledgeable

Just thought I'd share my experience with the game

Totally worth the money IMHO
They need to implement workshop support soon, or else the game is just gonna die.
I'd love to see some hex-and-chit wargame boards. Does the game support custom square shaped pieces?

Not currently

It's got a bunch of great games as-is, that'll hold it off until the workshop.
Definitely buying this soon. Can't wait to see some custom made horrors

Yeah I'm definitely having fun with it at the moment, but I can see the novelty running out eventually if we don't get real custom mods to work with.
Also it's no lie to say it brings out the autism in every player involved.

The novelty might run out if you NEED to have something new every week.
But I mean, I've been playing Monopoly all my life. The novelty is not going to wear off for Monopoly. My friends and I have been playing Cards Against Humanity for at least a year or so now. There's no "novelty" in it for us, these are just things we do regularly as social activity.
For us it'd be like saying the novelty of talking might wear off.
Mr. Zombie is right though, a lot of the internet user base has the attention span of a small animal, but there will be people who might regularly play this for many reasons. RPG games, board game night, virtual bro night drinking on your computer seat and chilling with strangers, ect.
However, user bases die after launch, and having workshop will definitely keep more people around.
I wonder if adding Workshop support and having all these licensed board games show up will get them into legal issues. Maybe having it on a separate website is the best way for them to stay on the other side of that rather thin line of legality.
I caved and bought this, I do expect this to go places with what it already has to offer and will only expand going forward.

I'd gladly work to make a new 21st century version of Monopoly called Capitalism. And instead of "monopolys" you "capitalize" a market. So instead of board walk and park place, you'd get Microsoft And Apple. So on, and so on. Chance cards like "Product recall, pay each player 50 dollars" and instead of jail it's the "Worse CEO square" or something, it could easily be remade to not be a legal issue.

hasn't stopped GMOD from having copyrighted models on the workshop

I'm kind of wondering that myself. Mods, right? Should be safe. But I dunno, if I could just play their games for free, why would I ever buy them?
I just hope this game goes under the radar and doesn't get too much attention from big companies.
I think this is awsome. I bought the four pack for me and my mates. We live over 1000ks from each other due to work and defense force related things. So being able to play magic is a great.
You actually played magic?
Would be nifty if you could use a much larger range of cards in a deck. What's the limit for the different kinds of cards in a deck?

Probably won't really be an issue and even if it is there's the Nexus they already have up and running for the game.
you know what we need?

Oh god, yes please. A format where you can actually make this happen would be beautiful. Will definitely have to wait until workshop though.
Every time I come to this thread, i want this game even more.
The real reason to buy Tabletop Simulator.

I feel like this would be a great game to advertise your board game by creating a mod for it.
The Facepunch Card Game thread in Photoshop Contests needs to get in here and make some magic
I think the real problem be that people buy the game expecting to play some physics sandbox where they can fuck around with people.
Really its meant a a digital platform for card games and board games. Don't get it if you aren't entertained by real card games and board games.

Haha, yeah, the first time I saw this hilarious concept actually available on Tabletop now I wanted to try this out ;).
When we talk about fun card games, I played two in real life in the past which I would also like to see in this simulator. I didn't notice them on Nexus, so yeah, they would be nice. Especially one called 'Kolejka' as I'm someone from Poland ;).

Also pretty classic card game of year 1996 (I still have it at home in real version) card game called 6 Nimmt! / Take 5 which was pretty fun experience when I played it last time (and pretty easy to learn as well).

I'm not really into the general kind of boardgames (lets say monopoly, chess), but I'd love to try some D&D esque game (with a GM and all that).
Think I should give this a chance?
11 dollars seems to be just doable.
I kick major ass at Monopoly

I'm still feeling lucky.
Can someone link to a good card deck template? The one on the nexus has spaces that are mismatched in size and i'm not sure what a proper size would be.
I'm thinking about slapping together a deck for Stormtrooper. Prototype card here.
A shame there's no Shogi yet, always wanted to learn how to play that...
Ah well, least its given me reason to learn to play Go. I have no regrets. May be the only way to eventually play Betrayal at the house on the hill without dropping 300 dollars...
Why did these come out tinted red?

You know what game this game needs?

I remember when I was a kid, my father and I would just set up our wall pieces and fortify our side of the hallway, with plastic army men behind them, then use the catapults with more rubber bands to make them stronger to knock each other's army over. Damn the 2 inch 6 inch movement rules. No one moves, first one to lose their army loses
