How long will it take for keys to roll out? I'm dying to play this!
Also do Beta keys activate on Steam? or is that reserved for final release?

That I know only comes with the release, I bought that but upgraded to beta access. It's an extra 20$ if you buy it on their store. I'm pretty sure they give you a coupon.
beta acces costs around 60 dollar* I believe. Anything less only grants you the game on release.

I helped another guy crash an asteroid into my planet because I wanted to see it happen.
The engines didn't have any fire effects and the only crashing effect was the giant crater that was left. No explosions or anything. Hopefully that's not how it's going to be until the next patch.

You have to pay a minimum of 50$ I think. Or I think it was 45$.
Either way, I like how in that brief snippet of lore they posted on the backer's forum they had the narrator having nightmares about beta players coming to fuck shit up.

To be fair it's probably a bug, I mean this is a beta after all, as in a proper beta not just a demo like some people use the term beta. They've still got a way to go before the game will be finished

there already have been textured files for that thing for a while, so it certainly is going to be added. When? I do not know.

also, a thing that irks me is that planes work on moons/planets with no atmosphere. I think it should be like boats (no water, no boats). It would be neat if they did not for more gameplay variety

How big is the moon in question? A normal size moon (800m radius) at this point cannot be moved.

Don't build a system with 10 planets, one of which being at max radius (1500). Because the game will never load. Ever. Although building systems is fun.
Game's fun, can't wait till it's optimized though. Keep crashing in large games or when a big army enters my sight

currently, most of the promised features are in. Planet smashing is one of them. There aren't any factions implemented yet and no galactic mode.
I dunno about 3 planets but I wouldn't try playing with anymore than that.

I've found that 6-7 works pretty well. 8 is where people really start dropping mid-game.

it does nearly everything on a single core (the spikes are from when it was loading, when playing the other cores are near flat all the time while the 6th one is maxed out.)

If you can't wait and don't mind a few bugs you can go for it.
So how am I supposed to play vs AI? People say to start it before players join but all I can do is set ready and wait, no button to start it.
It worked yesterday once, somehow, but I don't remember what I did.
Had no idea there was AI.
How to play with AI:
Start a custom game
Choose your side/colour
press ready
in a few seconds it will start loading
If that doesn't work, it might be a bug. I have no trouble doing it though :)

Tried 5 times, worked twice. Basically yeah that's how you do it, but it seems to work only half the time (at least for me).

hahaha the AI is so god damn silly. I was moving around some bots when I noticed a plane building an advanced Mex (Mass extractor) and destroyed it. It then flew to the mass spot next to it and started building there, and my bots instantly destroyed it as well, after which the damn thing went back to the other mass spot. I decided to leave them to troll the builder.
I was greeted by this clusterfuck when I returned a few minutes later

the ai got mad and sent his entire air building force but still didn't manage to get shit build :v:
