[QUOTE=Binladen34;42336042]I'll never get to slam a moon into a planet ;n; I keep getting either killed, or wasting so much fucking time that it isn't worth it anymore.[/QUOTE] Do not do it when there's just the annihilator asteroid and the target planet and no planet to hide your commander on, as everything in orbit/on surface of either planet will just instadie, making it end in a draw. [editline]28th September 2013[/editline] I actually got a neat idea for a custom map : lots of tiny moons acting as asteroids, where people can conquer over or hide in. [editline]28th September 2013[/editline] Also, if 2 planets crash just because their orbits intersect at the right time, will it still cause the destruction of one or will they both just continue on?
i accidently sent my build-force army thing into the enemy comm by accident as i was going ohshitohshitohshit a bolt from the sky hit him and blew him up, finishing the game turned out that as he was lit up by the builders, the orbital laser platform was in the perfect place to kill him
I've been playing a bunch of 2v2 and 3v3 matches it's been quite fun. One round a commander was jumping from planet to planet to avoid getting killed, that sure drags the game a long quite a bit. With bugs and all it's still quite an enjoyable experience.
i have a non-shit computer and i cant run anything with more than 2 planets :C
The AI always ends up overwhelming me with bombers, I can't keep my missile defences up enough. Once a few of them go down the entire missile fields is nothing but scorch marks.

Hope they fix the interplanetary travel AI next patch, because holy shit it's aggravating to see my comm being flown around the sun in circles missing the fucking planet I want to land on every time.
How do you set patrols?
[QUOTE=Cows Rule;42339349]How do you set patrols?[/QUOTE] Shift-click with Patrol selected. Two points at the least are required. Starting point and ending point. It does not default to the units current position.
Fuck this game, it's so goddamn brutal and unforgiving. First off, lets use 8gb of ram, and 90% of the CPU to get things started. Then lets rush 60 fucking bombers about a minute and a half after the game has started. I'm just trying to get used to the goddamn game, and the AI doesn't even give me a chance to build anything more than a metal extractor.
Thanks, I won my first match after making an army of planes and set them around the base. I eventually made it to the other planet but I don't know how to use the planet engines so I just called orbital strikes and nukes. When I'm not being overwhelmed the game is pretty cool. Though it has it's obvious bugs. Changing an of the settings makes it rerender the system, some of your buildings will disappear and comeback at random.
Nukes crash me. Not sure why. But when I select a nuke, it highlights everything red (Range) and then I lose control of everything. So I have yet to see how nukes play out. I just crashed my first moon though, that was fun. But because I crashed it into the enemy planet the game ended before I saw the full damage. Basically I just saw the explosion so no planet cracks or complete annihilation. I'll have to make a new star map with more planets to destroy.
From what you guys are saying, there should be a rule editor for matches that allow you to have a never ending game, just to screw around. Supreme Commander had one of those things, and I remember messing around in it for hours.
Can I get an honest opinion on this game? It seems really fun and interesting but is it worth it to dish out $60 or should I wait until December when it comes out of beta?

Also, don't play against the AI; they're basically the hardest enemy out there.
oh so how do you build orbital units, are they from advanced air or what
[QUOTE=wulfe8857;42341173]It's still being optimized. Also, don't play against the AI; they're basically the hardest enemy out there.[/QUOTE] Alright, so I just planet cracked the ai, and it was anticlimactic as fuck. Also he spawned 114769 bombers, in the span of 120 minutes (I had no idea how to launch the moon, and ended up putting 47 engines on before realising theres a button that says 3) [editline]28th September 2013[/editline] [t]http://puu.sh/4CQsb.jpg[/t] [editline]28th September 2013[/editline] [t]http://puu.sh/4CQsb.jpg[/t]
Just got done with my first game, confirming its fucking amazing. Beat the AI on my first real try, they hardly spawn anything but bombers/air defense and are normally wide open to bot gangs. Crew of 70 bots cornered the commander and ended the game. Was almost ready to launch nukes/orbital units too. But holy shit is the AI air unit leaning. Air defense is a MUST. Will provide pics of next game.

Also I love how they went Command and Conquer style and put no unit limit. Hardly any RTS games do that. Most RTS games have such restrictive unit limits these days, that's it's impossible to create such larger armies.
I've never had a game use 10gb of ram before. It is not pleasant. First time my 12gb has been filled up. I had to end the process and now the game crashes on startup. Oh well.
Try verifying game files.
The issue was that my ram filling up broke my audio drivers/windows audio service. so i restarted it in command prompt and it worked fine. I guess PA just crashes if it doesnt find the audio hooks.
I am surprised how poorly optimized this is, seeing how everyone has issues with FPS, no matter what device they are using. Uber knows that it is bad, but still.

The difference between this and most betas is that this is actually a beta, and an early one at that.

Uber knows that it is bad, but still.[/QUOTE] everyone but me [editline]29th September 2013[/editline] how to beat ai: build anti air aircraft, don't bother trying to bomb him [editline]29th September 2013[/editline] a group of 4-5 pelicans can take out p much an infinite number of ai bombers
I only have 4gb of ram (my other 4gb is broke) and the game runs fine surprisingly. Also, to counter the AI all you need are fighter jets. That's it. Right now they one shot bombers of the same tier. So T1 Fighter vs T1 Bomber = Fighter wins. T2 Fighter vs T2 Bomber = Fighter wins. Don't even need SAM turrets. So just set up a patrol perimeter where ever you expand for resources. [editline]29th September 2013[/editline] Nukes cause a game breaking bug for me. I select it and nothing happens. I can't deselect and I can't do anything else. It sucks...
[QUOTE=DBFT;42339282]Hope they fix the interplanetary travel AI next patch, because holy shit it's aggravating to see my comm being flown around the sun in circles missing the fucking planet I want to land on every time.[/QUOTE] it's going around the sun because it has to slingshot around celestial bodies to reach it's destination. if you mean it's [I]stuck[/I] circling the sun, then that's odd, 'cause i've never seen that happen in all my games so far - file a bug report.
If it's circling the star in the opposite way of the target planet, it may never actually reach the planet, I've tried it as well  If every celestial body is orbiting the same way around everything, the game can much better find out how to land. That's my experience anyway.
With two planets equipped with Hally V's, make them annihilate each other. Also, make one annihilate one planet, then as it enters the atmosphere, change it's target. Hilarity ensues.
Is there any way to get the resource multiplier to work? It keeps resetting to 1 and is greyed out in the actual match, and I'd like to try out the planet busting and see how the system I built works without it taking ages (especially since chances are it will crash 10 minutes in).
