Is there any way to get the resource multiplier to work? It keeps resetting to 1 and is greyed out in the actual match, and I'd like to try out the planet busting and see how the system I built works without it taking ages (especially since chances are it will crash 10 minutes in).
It has not yet been implemented as they wish to try and see how balance works at default values for the moment. Took me 80 minutes to build Hally V's on two moons...I wish there were cheats.
First game I had the AI wasn't attacking and by the time I had a small group of units I began scouting only to find the AI bot stuck in a mountain with only an energy plant built. I had fun testing out the nukes and that though
Played with someone who was kind of lost, so I went on my merry way getting ready to build Halley V's on the moon and actually get to use them. I harassed him once in a while to make sure he didn't gain an advantage, but as I got two advanced workers on the moon and my Commander was safely on another planet, the other player must have quit because I hadn't been attacking nearly enough to destroy and he was counted as destroyed.
How do you start a game vs the ai?
How do you start a game vs the ai?
Join an empty match/create one. Hit ready and wait.
Attempting to play with random people in this game is an infuriating experience i wouldn't wish on anyone. "sure i'll play a whole game *quits when he loses 3 extractors*" "20 minutes into a game and we're about to have some decisive battles? RANDOMLY DISCONNECT"
I'm excited to buy this when it's a working product
holy shit this game runs better on my laptop than my desktop computer. The only difference is that texture quality is low on my laptop and high on that thing, so maybe that is a giant FPS hog? Only issue is that my drivers crash every 10 minutes, but atleast I can reconnect to the match in most cases. [editline]30th September 2013[/editline] What tactics does everybody use? I just try to shit out as many T1 tanks possible quickly and rush my opponent.
If you have a Nvidia card, you can turn on threaded optimization for planetary annihilation, it will run much better. Also, either don't run it through steam, or disable the overlay, that will also increase performance  And then set the process priority to high. These 3 things have greatly increased my performance. Some also say that they have better performance on Uber settings instead of low, but I haven't tested that (I forgot about it)

Does anybody else think air is completely OP? The only factor that's decided my wins and losses against AI is how developed our air wing is. Maybe it changes against players but IDK. Also does the AI ever develop orbital units?
from what i've read in this thread AI only goes bombers
Not entirely true, it only attacks with bombers, but it usually has fighters and fabricators flying around it's base.
Whenever I play against other people they usually just build a ring of catapults towards me, and I can't stop it :(

Fucking sweet, today's patch says wall dodging of units now works again. I hope this fixes half me army being stuck behind mooncraters all the fucking time.
Anyone else feel that the units seem like hovering? It really bugs me, they don't seem attached to the ground.
I've noticed that metal resources sometimes generate too close to each other or terrain features to be useful. The bot factory will sometimes phase through bots that are exiting.
I hope they fix mass points being useless because they are stuck inside the terrain. It's really annoying when you think you've picked a good spot, but forget to zoom in and realize it's utter shit. [editline]1st October 2013[/editline] also the tech 2 stationary artillery (helkins or something?) is so OP it's hilarious. Build 2 outside someone's base and they'll wreck anything. Balance still has not been achieved but what can you expect from a beta (although I wonder why they buffed the already powerfull T1 laser towers with a longer range and more damage, as 2 of them can wipe out T1 blobs of units without dying)

It's really annoying when you think you've picked a good spot, but forget to zoom in and realize it's utter shit.
it IS kinda funny to see a metal spot being half-way inside the planet, because it's at the bottom of a huge crevasse, though.
it IS kinda funny to see a metal spot being half-way inside the planet, because it's at the bottom of a huge crevasse, though.
First time I saw those hard to reach spots I thought thats a good use for Air Engineers! But I was disappointed. What do you guys think about different starting planets? I think it would be great if optional, so you could turn off and on in the game lobby.
you can use air engineers to build inside moon craters/north/south pole of the metal planets they can be really usefull spots for orbital launchers and other stuff (perhaps drop your commander in the middle of one using a lander and if it's big enough you are quite safe)

Which is a good but annoying tactic.
air engineers are good for building in the wastelands, but are kinda slow. That is why I tend to keep tankbuilders around in my base and have them work there as they build much faster than the planes. [editline]1st October 2013[/editline] you can take bot builders if you don't want to accept the easy task of keeping planes and tanks apart.
Am I the only one here who thinks they should buff the Air Defense Towers a bit, they seem to get taken out way too easily by bomber swarms(sometimes in single shots) while not doing enough damage to them in return. Particularly those advanced heavy bombers. Also am the only one getting urges to play Supreme Commander while playing this?
I think air defence is the only defence without a tier 2 upgrade.
Also am the only one getting urges to play Supreme Commander while playing this?
TBH, at the moment I enjoy SupCom:FA more than PA. Much more content, and the AI is much more competent. I'm waiting for PA's AI to be improved and the singleplayer mode to be introduced. I love RTSes but I generally hate fighting with other players, because I'm a massive turtle. I'm one of those people that will spend four hours doing a single SupCom mission. :v:

We should get a 3v3 turtle match going [editline]2nd October 2013[/editline] Although, the game shits itself when you have more than 2 or 3 planets.
