I like this new update. My only gripe is that offline mode hasn't been released yet, but I am sure they will add that soon. It has been fun watching this game go from hardly functional beta to release tier finished.
[QUOTE=Mattk50;45861291]what if you try to smash a small moon into a metal planet. Can it intercept it?[/QUOTE]
I can confirm, the metal planet WILL attempt to fire on the moving planet, however because the moving planet typically moves so fast they metal planet will probably not be able to zero in on it in time.
My freind actually managed to Cheese the orbital mechanics a bit... by initially moving the planet a bit then cancelling it, it got caught in the metal planets orbit, allowing him to fire it at the metal planet directly without having to loop round the sun.
hmm, in the news section everybody was ragging on this game not being ready for release at all, what do you guys think of the impending release/does it need more time or not?

The game is lacking some stuff like the unit cannon that fires units to other plants quickly and without it nukes will be the only way to win certain matches. Without it I wouldn't personally release the game as it can literally make the AI in singe player unbeatable if you haven't unlocked nukes and you both dig into different planets and set us shit tons of defense.
God I really hope they fix whatever is wrong with the damn anti-nuke launcher.
For two games in a row my cluster of full anti-nuke silos did not fire at nukes fired right at them.
How do you even build the catalyst? I cannot even find it on my build menu.
Seems it's a problem in the latest patch, hopefully gets fixed before release.

Only advanced fabs can build it, it's on the top row- right panel.

I know that, but it's not showing up, it only shows two blank spots between the advanced radar and power plant. Do I have to use a specific kind of fabricator?

Are you playing Galactic War? Maybe you don't have the tech for it? Don't even know if it requires tech though. Are you playing a GW started before this patch?
Also are you playing the latest stable and not PTE?
Besides that I don't know what can be wrong besides maybe being a bug.

Well it shows where I'm supposed to be able to build them, but they're orange rather than blue.
Well I definitely just bought this from that Kinguin site and it was only $17 but damn that was shady feeling as fuck.
Super excited, Forged Alliance was one of my all time favorite games and this seems similar with a whole extra layer of kickass. I do want that unit cannon though, that was one of the best parts (imo one of few redeeming parts) of SC2
Kinguin is great, I got BF4 and premium for like £35.
Shady as fuck though, the key they sent me was just a crappy phone picture of a key on the back of a rather tatty looking promo case or card.
So I'm pretty sure I just crashed because of inadequate ram or something, its weird. And it totally sucked, I had to fight this AI to plop a teleporter down a planet then LEEEROY JENNKINSS all my AA in so as not to get instawelped in a tidal wave of bombers.
Right as I got into the main swarm and started moving tanks into his base it ccrahsed and killed most of the other programs open at the time. something about a "breakpoint"
[editline]2nd September 2014[/editline]
my paging file shit or virtual ram or whatever the fuck it is was all fucked up apparently. damnit.
Finally got the catalyst working and used it for the first time, but the game lagged out so I didn't get to see the explosion
I don't know what's wrong, the game keeps having these huge lag spikes and it isn't because of my graphic settings because I set it all the way to low and it still did it.
The fuck is with the gap between normal and hard AI? one just sits there doing nothing one wrecks my shit I haven't got nearly as good at this as I was at FA yet

I've bought from them a bunch. Recently with ArcheAge and PA - both have been Steam gifts to me a few minutes after purchase.
I laughed hard when they sent me that crappy wee picture. I'm still surprised it was a legit code. Got the game and premium for less than the game at full price at the time.
I love this game but I'm not gonna lie, I don't think its ready for a full release.

also the deathstar needs a nerf
Memory crash killed my game right at a good moment again. Something about breakpoints and bad reads agian, running memtest on restart and chkdsk right now.
I had just started Operation Ground and Pound (heh, its after the dragonforce song because power metal) which entailed me breaking a camp of a planet by producing 300 avengers, sending them to the orbital fabbers and defense guns, and nuking the ground below it (since the AI seems to put main base below orbital shit). Stage 2 was rapidly dropping 10 t2 engineers to turbobuild two teleporters, one linked to the planet we had fought over and one to my factory planet. I had about 2000 units on standby ready to blitz him.
To my horror, however, his main base was on the opposite hemisphere of the planet, where I attempted to land my engies. The nukes obliterated the orbital shit and half my avengers, and thats when I crashed.
90 minutes of work gone in a flash of thermonuclear thunder :(
[editline]2nd September 2014[/editline]
and i clicked on an alert then got stuck in a blue colored screen
Sometimes while playing the game just starts chugging along, like server lag. It is really annoying when it takes forever for a unit to move 5 feet and I have to quit.
and as per the usual for TA, Supcom 1&2 and other games with nukes i cackled with glee when 6 thermonuclear presents landed on the AI doorstep
And I was shocked into silence with my first planetary annihilation
So how is the destruction?
Like, can you make craters with nukes and shit or is it only scripted from stuff like smashing planets into each other?

Well so far the only craters I've seen are from planetary annihilation, when half the planet becomes a crater.
Also, having absolutely horrid lag right now that I believe is related to the servers. Offline galactic war pls

Man this moon is really far out.
I don't see it.

its probably because I know fuck all about the symbols in the game and its probably sitting in my face, still haven't bought this, but plan to when my birthday comes.
offline mode hits on the final release aka Sept 5th.

Source?
[QUOTE=Xieneus;45877234]offline mode hits on the final release aka Sept 5th.[/QUOTE]
Thank god. Hopefully they hotfix in balances to the Annihilaser too. I have been too hyped about this game for too long for it to trip over itself because of a couple issues.

Middle of the screen, open it fullsize and look past the compression quality.
[editline]reh[/editline]
Rehosted with better quality.
Has anyone gotten this message while playing?
The NVIDIA OpenGL driver lost connection with the display driver due to exceeding the Windows Time-Out limit and is unable to continue.
