yeah I can't play right now because our internet is being so shitty atm. Funny, because once I get into my dorm at UW Seattle my internet problems will disappear :/ [editline]2nd September 2014[/editline] its literally so bad I either fail to log in or cant get past the loading screen for galactic war [editline]2nd September 2014[/editline] i think there is something going on funky with the severs, even after restarting router modem and adapter I still get stuck at calculating approach vector. So I guess I'll check in an hour or so or just wait for the 5th
THE FUCK IS WITH FUCKING EXTRA DOWNY ANTINUKES NEVER SHOOTING DOWN NUKES (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻ each and every damn time (8 times in total, twice right before halleys onlined) I've been nuked WITH anti nukes in teh strike zone AND radar
It's a bug with the current build.
The AI are bullshit cheaters, I've got their difficulty set to normal or whatever the lowest one is, I was in a free for all with 5 AI, one of them was just spamming every unit and had a teleporter up and was raping my base with artillery, shit's annoying as fuck.
EZ way to nerf annnhilaser. Some or all of the catalysts blow up after firing so you have to rebuild them.
That'd be really dumb, maybe just have a long cooldown time between firing instead.
But I like the current deathstar :c It's fun to rush to a metal planet, rush catalysts and then watch everyone beg for mercy and then zap them.
So for a game releasing officially on Friday, the System Editor hogs up my Memory, it went to 96% on Memory Usage and then my computer froze, when I clicked to preview a planet. Had to hard restart again.

That actually looks badass, a planet that on the outside, looks like a normal planet, it has grass, snow, water, but inside it's actually completely metal. And then there's areas similar to metal planets where you can place Catalysts, that then open up part of the planet to reveal it's Death Star weapon. :D
Well I just tried playing it again, haven't played in a while, and whenever I try to do anything in game the game does not recognize my mouse. I can navigate menus, click on options, even move around in the galactic map portion of galactic war But once I get on a planet I can't move my camera around to reposition it with any method other than edge scrolling, I can't click to choose a spawn location, and when the game decides to randomly assign me a spawn location I can't build anything. Anyone know what the fuck is going on
Typical, the one feature I've wanted for as long as I can remember, offline play comes when i actually move somewhere that enables me to get fibre internet.. I've spent all summer unable to play this game - never mind update - due to atrocious <1mb internet. Sod's law has never shat in my face harder.

[editline]3rd September 2014[/editline] "Connection to server lost" :/
Well that was moderately disappointing... Spent 25 minutes building up to and making a Haley on a moon and crashing it into the planet with the enemy commander and the sumbitch didn't die.

So I played the skirmish AI on normal and they demolished me. I'm not sure if I'm not used to the pace that this AI plays at or what. Is Galactic War any different?
So I played the skirmish AI on normal and they demolished me. I'm not sure if I'm not used to the pace that this AI plays at or what.
So I played the skirmish AI on normal and they demolished me. I'm not sure if I'm not used to the pace that this AI plays at or what. Is Galactic War any different?
In Galactic War you start with only vehicles and T1 units and structures. You'll have to explore systems to find more technology and usually there's atleast 1 or 2 systems you can explore early on before you have to fight the AI's systems, depending on your galaxy size choice. I find bigger galaxy sizes easier because you get a lot of free systems to explore before going into battle, even though it takes a lot longer to clear all the systems. The techs vary quite a bit, from just getting higher tiers with vehicles, unlocking ships, air and bots, more orbital stuff, higher defences, but also stuff like damage increase for unit types, build speed and movement speed for your commander, even AI teammates to help you out. The AI usually start with air forces, wrecking my shit if I'm not fast enough. I'm not sure what the AI even is given, but it seems it has everything, just randomly differs between the time it decides to build everything including orbital stuff.

First two were piss easy
i'm not positive, but i think each planet gets a random loadout i had a enemy comm once just build mex and energy near where he spawned, and then do nothing, not even building any facts pretty sure he had no buildings to build other than mex/energy
Sounds possible. How do you unlock the various starting Loadouts for yourself though? Is killing one AI Leader enough or would you have to wipe the galaxy entirely?
Sounds possible. How do you unlock the various starting Loadouts for yourself though? Is killing one AI Leader enough or would you have to wipe the galaxy entirely?
You just have to kill the leader corresponding to the loadout.
Sounds possible. How do you unlock the various starting Loadouts for yourself though? Alsos says something about enemy faction leader spotted. In that battle, you will fight four other AI. I beat the battle for alenquer by zerging the two AI on my planet with flames and AA, then dropped a planet on the other two since they had fortified too well for me to even plant teleporters from orbit. I managed to get the Orbital loadout by beating 4 hard AI :v:
There will be a special icon (looks kinda like a wing i think?) above a certain planet.
Oh okay so it's just those. I attacked one with only two AI versus me, but I was wrecked anyways. Took me a while to realize I was even fighting two AI. :v:

Sometimes I can handily beat the AI but sometimes they rush me to death. This one was especially bad, one builds bots/air so is mobile but papery, other is all land so slow and tanky. Hard to counter. [editline]3rd September 2014[/editline] seriously this AI expands like a mechanical virus from the very depths of hell, I'm putting up my 3rd factory and hes already got units rushing into my base from his 3 air fabs and 3 land fabs HOW DO I FIGHT THIS
I was attempting to rush the one furthest away from me, but the other AI showed up and murdered my forces and was pretty close to my base. In the end I enclosed myself with my old turtle habits and lost to pelters blowing up everything combined with armies of bombers.
How is galactic war? Does it work well as a campaign substitute?
