How is galactic war? Does it work well as a campaign substitute?
Yes. The choice of positioning, who to wipe out, and what techs to keep/discard (at least until you find a cache of additional slots) is quite nice. This combined with the fact that the difficulty ramps up as you go also makes it quite fun. [editline]3rd September 2014[/editline] the fact that antinukes don't work really sucks though, since some of the AI rushbuilds nukes it seems

I have a few anti nuke launchers around my base so I figure I will be fine. My army was gone just like that.
I can't believe they're going to launch this game with 4 unit types per factory, and with Naval and Orbital completely retarded.
I can't believe they're going to launch this game with 4 unit types per factory, and with Naval and Orbital completely retarded.
where have you been the past 2 years there's a specific design reason why
I can't believe they're going to launch this game with 4 unit types per factory, and with Naval and Orbital completely retarded.
I don't understand it either. Makes zero sense. In terms of balance, not the number of unit types. T2 units are still mostly just better t1 units, Orbital is still iffy with only one real offensive option. Naval is just... No. [editline]3rd September 2014[/editline] Then again i haven't played in a bit, i'm just going off of observation.
I've gotten disconnected two times now while playing galactic war, even with a 5MB/s connection.
I haven't even been able to do anything in regards to this game since a few days after I bought it during Steam Sales.. [editline]4th September 2014[/editline]
But... Fiber internet.
But I've spent the whole summer unable to play and when I do have the ability to play I still won't because of University. :suicide:
i like perpetually waiting for the planets to build on a 7 body game its fun

There will be a special icon (looks kinda like a wing i think?) above a certain planet.
Oh okay so it's just those. I attacked one with only two AI versus me, but I was wrecked anyways. Took me a while to realize I was even fighting two AI. :v:
I guess it's not just any leader I find. Just fought a battle versus blue AI leader, a single ai on a water planet, and it didn't even have any naval factories. Got no Loadouts from that.
where have you been the past 2 years there's a specific design reason why
What's the design reason? Right now fights are boring because the units are all boring.
yeah since this last update the game just doesn't wanna work. won't load systems at all.
[thumb]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/52111350254028706/30E56638E01B052150DBB7A5FADB2C87D28CAF0B/[/thumb] goty
A guy turtled his planet to hell, so i had to planet smash him. His final act of defiance was to have his builders write "FUCK YOU" in giant letters using the walls.
my final act was a nuclear swastika [thumb]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/52111350254054739/195553C1269E09F63DE7AD94C1DB0BDE97F9F189/[/thumb] [sp]the swastika failed so i decided to ram the moon into his planet, instead it rammed into mercury and my commander exploded... i somehow still won tho[/sp]
ugh so I've gotten to the point now where on hard AI takes me about 10-15minutes to kill, but the problem on multiplanet systems is that I can't go orbital right away or I'll lose my explosive metal cancer that is my build queue. So I exterminate the AI on my planet, but the one leftover has covered his whole planet and is now attempting to colonize mine. Leading to an endless stalemate that is only broken when one of us lands a nuke (after endless barrages) in a good spot, usually the AI does this and my nuke launchers and eco collapse
Is there a specific time today when PA comes out? I really can't stand the DRM. Also where are the Asteroid Belts!
I was wrong about the offline mode happening today. Apparently they're still working on it.

Anyway the game is now officially released. [editline]5th September 2014[/editline] Yay they fixed anti-nukes.
can i hab your voice
sorry its not for sale
I guess we still aren't getting offline mode for a while?
The soundtrack has officially been released to all early access backers. You can get it by logging onto the Uber Entertainment site and going to "My Keys"
So... where's the unit cannon? Where's offline mode? Where are asteroids?
So... where's the unit cannon? Where's offline mode? Where are asteroids?
unit cannon wasn't supposed to be in this patch, they said its coming, along with asteroids no idea on the offline mode thing though
Any commanders can be easily swapped with any of the locked comms, although I am not sure if other players could see them. The icons and everything work fine too. [t]http://i.imgur.com/B3nMvOy.png[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/KnYB4H8.png[/t] There's also some extra comms they are probably going to sell, idk. [t]http://i.imgur.com/E9VnZuh.png[/t]
Have they changed the amount of metal extraction spots there are on planets? The system I'm currently in, has 2 planets and 1 moon. The 2 planets each have 4 spots each, and the moon has 3. So far, I haven't seen any systems in my campaign that has either metal planets or gas giants, and I'm guessing that'd be the primary metal sources. There's no reason for me to play any more, I wanted big armies rushing through teleportation gates, but now it takes too long to build them, so there's not really much annihilation going on. Is this a bug, or is this how they intended it to be?

One of my friends is getting a bug where the AI gets an 11 minute headstart (like, the timer even reads 11:00 at the start of the game) and sends a massive air strike his way within a minute of the game actually starting. He's also saying this is with the normal AI and that it doesn't happen in the galactic war. Any ideas? Because he can apparently run the game itself just fine.
