All of these bugs are the reason I'm putting off playing until they remove the online-DRM. I tried playing Galactic War yesterday and it was fine for an hour and then the DRM caused my game to shit itself and it does this pretty much every time I get into a long battle.
Have they changed the amount of metal extraction spots there are on planets?
The system I'm currently in, has 2 planets and 1 moon. The 2 planets each have 4 spots each, and the moon has 3.
So far, I haven't seen any systems in my campaign that has either metal planets or gas giants, and I'm guessing that'd be the primary metal sources.
There's no reason for me to play any more, I wanted big armies rushing through teleportation gates, but now it takes too long to build them, so there's not really much annihilation going on.
Is this a bug, or is this how they intended it to be?
I restarted the game, and it seems to have fixed it, now resources spawn like they used to.
One of my friends is getting a bug where the AI gets an 11 minute headstart (like, the timer even reads 11:00 at the start of the game) and sends a massive air strike his way within a minute of the game actually starting. He's also saying this is with the normal AI and that it doesn't happen in the galactic war.
Any ideas? Because he can apparently run the game itself just fine.
He's taking way too long to load the map, for some reason the game doesn't pause while you're loading, once the 2 minute mark is reached the game auto-starts whether you're finished loading or not.
Be sure he isn't using a map with many planets or really big planets, each planet takes a huge bite out of RAM while they're loading.
We should all play a game later. We would all have our own individual moons orbiting a death star. The first one to claim it wins the game!

Sending a halley-powered planet to the catalyst location completely disables the annihilaser.
How long is it meant to take to load a large map up on the lobby screen, it takes quite a while for me.

I guess we'll just have to smash each other to death then.
Whatever works man. Could still be possible if you keep up a big enough assault to stop people from planet-smashing people.
Added you on Steam, gimme a message if/when you try and organize this shit.
I really wish this game had a proper tutorial. I mean I can still find my way around without too much trouble because I've played Supreme Commander before, but there's still a lot of new stuff and it isn't immediately obvious how you're supposed to use it. It kind of sucks having to figure everything out by yourself. I spent way too much time just on looking for the button to infinite loop your factory's unit production. At first I thought it wasn't even in the game.

it wouldn't be annihilation without it
So I managed to nuke 2/3 AI's needed to win the battle against the faction leader. Then my game crashed.
Perfect fucking timing too, that game had the weirdest planet setup i've ever seen so getting any mex's and spreading out was super damn difficult
Played a 8 ffa game today.
Killed 5 and died last losing the game to a fine player.
Stopped 16 nukes, one moon, orbit invasion, ground invasion trough a stargate and a metal planet.
I wiped my own planet clean then took over another players moon, threw it on the hostile metal planet killing the player and disabling it from use, after impact all the players decided to cleance my planet by nuclear fire.
After fending off the nuke attack I send my ground force to a earth planet wiping it clean of two enemy battling each other.
Just after my invasion finished a second orbit attack took out my commander.
One hell of a ride.

Also have they fixed that bug where your commander's pod can get stuck flying around the sun uncontrollably?
I seriously must have a memory leak I loaded a map up started building (orange AI faction leader, galactic war Uber size hard difficulty) and decided I wanted a nap. I laid down for an hour and a half and came back to 80% of my ram being consumed and windows telling me it needs to close programs since its low on memory
wat? I've run a chkdsk on all my drives and a memtest all within the past week, and they were clean. So I'm guessing it must be with the game itself

I get that 5 minutes into any game a play, I just have to alt-tab and ignore it.. I've never managed to get rid of it. I've got 8gb of ram so I have no idea what the problem is.
Anyone got any idea when they might start shipping the physical reward stuff?
I've been looking around a bit, but I can't find anything relevant.
All I remember is back on the kickstarter I think it was mentioned around release time.
Finally won a galactic war with 120 turns and 19 wins, also Epic size and Normal AI.

and finally his Commander.

I'm at the same amount of turns and wins and I'm not even halfway through my galaxy yet... Uber really is Uber
I'm glad I didn't choose Uber size. It was really starting to slow down on the galaxy map. :v:
did u play at 1/3 or 1/4 speed
Normal speed.
Okay I'm starting to get really really pissed off here. They released this game with what seems to be a game breaking bug, where you either have a memory leak or UI crash later in the game.
Its released. Release generally indicates that horrifying bugs have been fixed, but that does not seem to be the case.
4 times now I have tried to fight the orange faction leader, 4 times I have defeated 1-2 of the commanders and have my endgame solution SO FUCKING CLOSE TO GOOD TO GO then crash
ugh im so fucking done with this map, its on 2 metal planets (the 3 commanders share one) and its super small and damaged so theres no room to move about or build units in, and its stupidly easy for the AI to hide shit at the poles since I can't get structures there. There are a ridiculously low amount of metal extractors, yet it seems the AI copes just fine.
[editline]7th September 2014[/editline]
FIVE TIMES NOW FUCK
It seems to be triggered by pressing the delete key, or trying to use nukes. No idea what exactly triggers it but they are bug reports of this going back to June which is really really shitty of Uber to do (or rather, not do)
With this game I recommend between 8 to 16GB of ram, most of the crashes are often related to the game hogging up to much ram of your machine.

I have 8gb though :/
Any commanders can be easily swapped with any of the locked comms, although I am not sure if other players could see them. The icons and everything work fine too.
What did you do?
Change the game files for the local client?

Try a game with metal and lava planet with a limited system of 1-4 planets.

I can also set any comms as my default commanders, but it's a visual thing only sadly.

How about a FP Match?
How about a FP Match?
That'd be neat.
Sounds like a great idea.
I just had my second online game (the first was a 1v1 in the beta where I was quickly annihilated by a huge bot rush). It was 8 player free for all and I survived until one of the other 3 remaining players decided to suicide his base into my commander. I could even have moved my commander off planet, but I still don't know how to see the destination of a Halley'd planet.
