How about a FP Match?
I'm still very new to the game, but I'd totally be up for that.
I just love the graphic style of this game, the commanders are just so damn cool. I don't think I could picture the game with a more realistic style like SC.
Okay I'm starting to get really really pissed off here. They released this game with what seems to be a game breaking bug, where you either have a memory leak or UI crash later in the game. Its released. Release generally indicates that horrifying bugs have been fixed, but that does not seem to be the case. 4 times now I have tried to fight the orange faction leader, 4 times I have defeated 1-2 of the commanders and have my endgame solution SO FUCKING CLOSE TO GOOD TO GO then crash ugh im so fucking done with this map, its on 2 metal planets (the 3 commanders share one) and its super small and damaged so theres no room to move about or build units in, and its stupidly easy for the AI to hide shit at the poles since I can't get structures there. There are a ridiculously low amount of metal extractors, yet it seems the AI copes just fine. [editline]7th September 2014[/editline] FIVE TIMES NOW FUCK It seems to be triggered by pressing the delete key, or trying to use nukes. No idea what exactly triggers it but they are bug reports of this going back to June which is really really shitty of Uber to do (or rather, not do)
Update drivers, disable steam overlay, check page file. It's issues with coherent ui which basically loads every ui window as a Web page. It's not a horrible bug, it's just that people like you decide to do attempt the same thing five times without trying to fix it and instead want to show how angry they are. [editline]7th September 2014[/editline] By the way if the ui crashes and the game makes it, just hit F5 and it should reload.
Is it meant to spam Coherent UI like this? [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7939899/Images/Planetary%20Annihilation/d91e772560.png[/t]

Funfact Rust also uses Coherent UI.
Funfact Rust also uses Coherent UI.
But does it use that many?
So anyone for an FP match right now maybe?
I'd be up for a match for the next hour or so.
I'd be up for one.
I'll create a lobby called "Facepunch match" with password "garry" and just wait for a few of you to join.
Joining now
was gonna join, but looks like i wasn't refreshing often enough. might aswell use this group i guess, made it back in May, could organize some games there, could also Mod some people if they want to organize games. Well, the game is over now, but I have a strong feeling everyone but me crashed near the end :v: [editline]7th September 2014[/editline] Incidentally, I won! :D
i didn't crash, Xie and Ratchet both crashed so I just nuked their shit and left when the score screen appeared :v:
But does it use that many?
There aren't that many ui elements in rust, and the division into many processes actually makes it easier to recover when ram runs out.
Yeah I just learned about the F5 thing. Seriously, last night when it happened I could see all my halleys online but I couldn't activate them. I had to build 6 of the damn things too ;_;
Is the key handing out still being done gradually, or is there something unusual with my key email having not been sent? I donated to kickstarter at the very start and I already got sent an email telling me where to input the code and to expect another email, but that one hasn't shown up.

Surprised this thread is so dead with the game just being out How are people liking this? This was a game I was excited to see on kickstarter but wanted to wait until release. Think I should still wait some more?
The game is a lot of fun but it does have a few problems. I would only get it if you really like the RTS genre and are willing to put up with its shortcomings.
I'll play this when its in a more complete state and has a few of the things that are meant to be in it, like unit cannons and subs.

Lack of offline mode is a relatively big shortcoming.
Would you mind giving some insights on its shortcomings? I'm thinking about buying the game.
Most of it is stability, IMO. Right now, you could probably just into the game and not be disappointed with what you could do (the main missing things are man cannons, but there's teleporters, so). It's just that the game's still always-online right now, with offline mode in a coming patch. There's also some optimizing left to do, which means you might want to hold off if your computer's not that great (hell, I've got a high-end comp and I still get slowdown late-game). And the AI's a bit wonky right now (as in bots, not the actual pathfinding or anything) Other than that, it's all there. You can blow up planets, control death-stars, nuke the shit out of yourself etc.
