I added you if you wanna play a game with a new guy :v
[editline]15th September 2014[/editline]
In fact, if anyone wants someone to play with feel free to add me.
The lack of cool down on the Metal planets make them true game enders.
Is it me or is full planet landing always a game of Russian Rolette?
Part of the Planetary Annihilation team of Uber Entertainment has splitted off to work on a new RTS title called Human Resources.
"The robot apocalypse gets complicated when tentacle monsters crash the party. Humans are the resource in this epic strategy game."
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/659943965/human-resources-an-apocalyptic-rts-game
DAT TRAILER. The goal is $1.4 million is pretty ambitious being that not everyone liked PA.
Eeehhhhhhh.
I kinda think they're biting off more than they can chew here.
I know Planetary Annihilation is considered finished to them and is officially released I don't like that they are doing this right now. I still feel that there is stuff missing in planetary annihilation that they should be putting their effort into before working on something new.
For instance the bloody unit cannon come on already.
Well Ilike the idea a lot but fuck, I can't trust them. Not even if I wanted to.
I haven't played this game in ages so I decide to have a 3v3 against the AI on 3 planets (2v2 on one planet, 1v1 on another, 3rd neutral empty planet). After wiping out the 2 enemies on my world, I manage to build a teleporter on the enemy's world and start sending a huge number of tanks through only to cut short by the planet my commander was on colliding with the one I was trying to invade (both planets were on the same orbital trajectory but going in opposite directions.). I caught me by surprise. It was glorious. Reminds me why I actually backed this game.
Fuck you Uber. Seriously. Borrowing from reddit because most of those dudes are actually more eloquent in their anger than I am, I sound like a tryhard 13 year old learning about cuss words for the first time when I get mad on the interwebs.
Nope, nope nope nope. That looks cool, hope you guys get it fully fleshed out and released, almost as much as I hope PA gets offline, saves, Galactic War out of alpha, performance to be more reasonable, the ability to handle multi planet battles more efficiently, a unit cap so I can finish games, etc.
Seriously though, good luck. Now if you'll excuse me I'll be paying lots of money for a cosmetic upgrade to my commander that no one, not even me, will notice/give a shit about.
Edit: Holy shit you guys actually put
With Planetary Annihilation, we think the results speak for themselves. The game is a beloved and critically lauded entry in the RTS canon, and we’re extremely proud of it. Now we’re ready to try something even more ambitious.
...on your Kickstarter page? Seriously? PA has a 61 Metascore and 6.0 user score on metacritic. That is not critically lauded. Man that pisses me off.
we think the results speak for themselves
They certainly do. Good luck Uber.
okay I'm done now sorry
Even though Uber have said that human resources is another dev team, it still cries to me that they're saying "right we released this fuck it lets make a different one".
Planetary annihilation is FAR from finished and still needs a lot of love and besides, human resources looks boring.
We haven't received a decent update to PA in weeks. Eugh. Where's my goddamn unit cannons and experimentals?
They've done the same thing with both Monday Night Combat and Super MNC. I've given them the benefit of doubt with PA but it seems like I was once again wrong V:v:V
I have no idea how Uber manages to completely run out of money each time they develop a game, I am not sure if their management is just extremely bad or if their development costs are insane. It doesn't help that they have a low budget though but at this point I am not even sure, but I suppose they do need to survive as a company and developing a game as complex as PA is probably extremely difficult on a low budget.
I am excited about the PA engine though, I honestly hope the new Kickstarter doesn't fail even though I kinda wished that they'd keep on developing PA for a little bit longer. I really think it would've been better to just keep the game on Early Access, even after the official release, instead of completely butchering their reputation once again (they had an early release for Super MNC too, which was apparently an accident on Valve's part but from what I know they have full access to the Steamworks release dates and stuff, or they could've just asked Valve to fix the issue they had instead).
Given how they're already nearly at $100,000 and there's still 32 Days left, I can't see them failing.
Also, $50 ingame credit for Super Monday Night Combat? Does anyone even play that game anymore?

Ugh, hearing them say they "delivered on it" with PA is so god damn cringey, they didn't deliver on it, they gave us a game that's honestly quite dull, everyone has the same units, everyone is the same faction but might have a different looking commander (ooh calm down) and they cut shit out that they've still yet to add in.
Oh and not forgetting how they rushed the release of the game when it's still clearly not finished yet, it's still in Beta in my eyes, honestly it's more like Alpha, Beta at least would have most of the features in the game, PA just doesn't.
See early on in it's lifetime the PA schedule went from alpha to beta to "When it's done!" and the when it's done was the best decision they made, yes, take your time! You have no publishers or suits to bend to and we gamers are a patient lot, then came galactic war and other such updates and we were like PROGRESS! The game is starting to take shape!
Then came the Celestial Annihilation update, everyone damn near made a mess of their underpants upon seeing the Annhilaser and then probably DID once they got to use it...
But then Uber sorta spluerged out and said "FINISHED!" It's like they took a list of what the game should be in terms of components and once that list was mostly ticked off they said done and called it a day.
It's like taking a metal box, some wheels a motor and calling it a car.
If they added the Unit cannon, matchmaking, offline, and saving, it'd be perfect. Maybe even a bit of optimization.
I'd like it if they updated it to not use up pretty much all my memory and cause a blue screen at times or a hard restart.

Now Bear in mind SMNC basically died on it's arse so them abandoning development... if indeed they did, I never did keep up with it, Isn't too unreasonable.
However at the same time... Perhaps their very successful kickstarter has gotten to their heads and now they are trying to do it again.
Perhaps they want to build up a solid Base of new IP's to establish crowdfunded games, RTS games in particular, in the Triple-A market... In all honesty I don't know and have no fukken clue.
Oh I need $1.4 million for my next project? yeah let me blow off $300K
http://i.imgur.com/ULX9sTJ.png
So unsurprisingly they take the money from the Kickstarter and just spend it on shit rather than on funding stuff for the game's production?
I finally got upgrades to let me play PA, I do like what there is so far, but it really does seem barebones compared to SupCom.
But oh well, smashing planets into three players at once is still fun :v:
PC Gamer just gave them what I believe to be an entirely justified review score
Seriously though this game has a nasty habit of crashing when you're just beginning to have fun or do something important. Also, if any of you get that bug where your UI freezes or get graphical corruptions press F5 and it should refresh and fix itself
Planets are a piss take to load in, they take fucking ages, I mean this could just be me but damn, it's annoying.
I'll only have a 2 planet System aswell but it's like, "Nope, we're gonna make you wait faggot." *5 minutes later* "Now you can play your game dumbass."
They're considering PA finished? Rather makes me regret spending money on it.
I backed this game for $40 during the kickstarter and I feel almost humiliated doing so.
This is what they considered a finished product? What the actual fuck? And now they are immediately working on another RTS, so what happens to the very much embryonic game that had potential?
kickstarter sales pitch

This just makes me angry. No other way to describe that.
Do they honestly expect a successful kickstarter when their fans from PA are still waiting for a list of promises yet unfulfilled to be developed and implemented?
I burned $290 on this game's kickstarter and I am disappointed that they still haven't got an offline or lan mode yet considering I only play skirmishes of co-op vs ai when it comes to RTS games. I don't get how they can claim it is finished when a core promise they made isn't even filled. Their first Kickstarter update post promised it and they have yet to deliver it.
Offline / LAN play support
By popular demand we are happy to announce that we will support LAN play and running your own servers! There will be elements of the game that are online only and will only be available when connected. For example things like player stats, auto-updating, metagame etc. However, we feel it’s important to be able to have an offline experience as well.
I just wish they would add a line up for systems that aren't procedurally generated every time you play like a set of 'tournament maps' or a way to save a system that was generated to use for another match.
Also I wish they would fix the system generator to stop placing multiple metal points on top of each other so you can only build on one of the three that are there and they also need to fix the ability to place the advanced metal extractor on top of the basic ones as the game seems to block me from doing it when a building is slightly too close to the extractor.
wait.
no way. they consider PA to be done???
That's like putting down the bread and saying the sandwich is done.
Watching their trailer for that new kickstarter thing knowing the state PA is in, with the comments they made about it, it just screams sliminess and deception and I'm glad I didn't back PA, but still disappointed because PA has/had the potential to be a really good base for mods too.
What really sucks is that the fundamentals of a solid game are there.
Its like they built the framework of a really nice house, finished a few rooms, made the outside really really nice, and said ITS DONE!
nope. You've got a frame and a few finished rooms, but how can you even enjoy that when a lot of the rest of the house is incomplete? You paid for a complete house and you got a partial project covered in a pretty skin.
And now they're moving on to the next house. Fuck you so damn much Uber.
They're cunts.
They said the PA team will continue to work on PA. Until they stop updating PA it's too early to be angry at Human Resources. It's "Adam cancelled Rust" all over again.
I have to agree that it should have stayed in Early Access a while longer though. It's not done yet.
