nope. You've got a frame and a few finished rooms, but how can you even enjoy that when a lot of the rest of the house is incomplete? You paid for a complete house and you got a partial project covered in a pretty skin.
And now they're moving on to the next house.
It's like they were a magician promising a fantastic show full of never before seen tricks and wonders! Then, during the act, they perform a couple of card tricks, pull a rabbit or two from a hat, make a dove disappear, all this basic warmup stuff. Then, they bring a box, and call a volunteer to lay down in it, with head sticking out from one end and feet from the other. Next, the magician pulls a saw from his hat, bring it to the box, and then...
He puts the saw back into the hat, bows and welcomes the people to join his next show, with an even more spectacular ending.
The devs are actual magicians though. [sp]They asked people to put money in the hat and then they'd pull a robot rabbit out, but instead the money just disappeared. Magic![/sp]

Once upon a time, Greg was down at the shops looking at the cereal isle when he suddenly got an idea.
"What if I made a cereal that was as addictive as lucky charms but as healthy as fresh oats?" He knew it was a tough task, but he also knew that with a pound of elbow-grease and a sprinkling of love, he could get the job done and create the best cereal the world had ever eaten.
But he couldn't do it alone! So he thought "who else could help me get this done? The big cereal companies? No, they wouldn't help at all. Why, I should ask the people who'll be buying the stuff!" And off he went with a pen, paper and clipboard, scouring the town for people who liked his idea. At first, everybody thought he was crazy! But then, after he promised to give a free box of his cereal to everyone who signed, the entire town was rushing to Greg, eager for the day his cereal would be in their pantries!
A year and a half later, Greg had finally done it! He had created the perfect cereal that was sweet as sugar but still kept you a healthy human. The next day, Greg sent off hundreds of boxes of the cereal to each and every person who pledged their support (and even a few latecomers!), each box a handmade labour of love. They weren't exactly what he set out to make, but on the back of every box, Greg had written a note saying "It's almost ready! Tell me how I did!"
At first, people loved the stuff! It was the food everyone had always dreamed about! Or at least, it almost was. Everyone in the town was more than ready to give their say to make Greg's cereal the best it could be. And after Greg had taken in everything the town had to say, he came back with his cereal; his greatest creation and his dream come true.
But one day, Little Dill from the top of the hill noticed something about his cereal: It tasted exactly the same! In fact, it was exactly the same! Greg had changed nothing from the first batch!
The town was furious! That Greg could call this his final cereal when it still had so much left to change? Preposterous! Everyone urged Greg to take it back and make it what he pormised to give everyone.
But Greg would have none of it and instead, announced a new cereal like his first one, but with fish-shaped flakes. He swore he would go back and change his first cereal one day, but no matter what Greg said, the town already knew that Greg wanted to move on.
And so the town learned not to expect the perfect cereal to ever come to them, and instead chose to eat many different cereals as part of a healthy and balanced diet. Because at the end of the day, everyone knew that Greg had bitten off more than he could chew!
[sp]And then the moon hit the town and reduced the FPS to a fraction the end.[/sp]

Thank god.

"human resources is killing planetary annihilation"
my ass
depends on their reaction. If they straighten up and finish up the game while they wait for HR to be funded, all good. But this release of the HR crowdfunding campaign has validated, for many people, anger already in place from the outright shitty "launch release" of this game.
http://www.uberent.com/pa/2014/10/06/offline-play-coming-october-9/
Good. Been getting random lag spikes at the moments when playing which is starting to annoy me.
human resources is a seperate team than PA, don't worry.
human resources is a seperate team than PA, don't worry.
I'm not too worried about them abandoning PA just yet.
The whole thing is basically this:

You believe that crap?
"I know, we will get a new Kickstarter, split our team in half to work on it and just say its a different team."

"everything is a lie because I said so"
At the very least this backlash caused Uber to up their game... whether they needed to or not, this is still good for us.
And then they might learn from this making PA a better game but also making HR a good game off the bat.
Looks like we're getting a pathfinding update AND offline servers this week. Uber may have harshly learned their lesson here

Added you on Steam.

Not surprising considering how pissed off the PA players were and how little actually got donated to the kickstarter.

Had they done the Kickstarter at a later date, I might've considered pledging, but I want to see them use the 250 USD I already gave them a bit more.

Same. I pledged $290USD and fell like PA still needs quite a bit of work to be done on it.
Good. It was nowhere close to getting funded by their proposed date anyway. If I'm going to be honest, the game idea was new but the game itself just didn't seem fun.

It looked cool, and like it'd be really fun if they could keep promises and actually do what they say they can.
PA is fun as hell now that its finally in working order, but like everyone else here is saying it still feels lacking.
I would really like to see Human Resources, but just not now. Not when they just rolled out PA, not when it still deserves content updates and love.
So how's the game shaping up now that Human Resources is out of the way?
My dad got it but hasn't played it yet so idk.
Also are there any mods for it yet? Feel like mods would be the perfect solution to lackluster factions just like TA mods added tons of new units back in the day.

I can't vouch for mod support, but the game is super fun vanilla. I've got about 25 hours in it so far, and that's full in game time. Granted, about 9 or so of those hours were from Alpha/Beta stages.
Was browsing the uber forums, apparently somebody is already making a mod to port the TA factions to PA
I lost a game yesterday since planet collisions is now a feature.
In the past the plannets just no clipped through each other.
New build:
-Leaderboards are live! Starting now you can see where you stack against the world. Work your way up, and take the number 1 Uber spot!
-Our System Designer now has the ability to make symmetrical planets, do CSG editing, and add custom metal placement for all you modders and planet creators out there! This is the first steps on this, and we plan on expanding the functionality of the designer even further in the future!
[Balance] Jigs now explode in a nuke sized explosion (drag select will space these to be safe, but you can hand place them closer if you feel lucky)
[Armory] New Commander: Berlinetta
[Armory] New Commander: Banditks

Meh, I was hoping for some content updates. I really like how well the game runs now at least.
I'd love to play PA more if only it had a more fleshed out singleplayer campaign instead of the galatic war thing.
