except the game has changed a bunch in the past 12 months the problem is those people never gave it another shot lets say the division comes out and people are like "meh, it's not great", but the devs work hard to fix it and make it better (and by people who are actually playing it, titans is a significant improvement over what was available 2 days ago) would it be fair to treat those reviews as an accurate representation of the product as it exists today
yes it's unfair but it's something every other game has to deal with
Can you save single player games yet? I'd buy Titan if you can save single player...
I'm pretty sure you can save replays, and therefore games.
So, apart from how stupid it is that Uber did this, can anyone say if the game's funner because of it? I don't mind spending the cash to upgrade it, but I'd like to know if it's at least worth the money.

I've been wrestling all day with being stuck on loading screens, turns out the goddamn emoji fireballs I had in my Steam name were fucking with the client super hard
I don't mind funding a RTS that is unique like PA and they will probably add more features to PA Titans since they did it with PA. There are not a lot of games (that I know of) like it, so 15 euro for funding this type of thing is all fine by me.
Can you save single player games yet? I'd buy Titan if you can save single player...
You can for months. And geeez, people, are you really that cheap, that you think 10 months of hard work is not worth 13$? They had to do so much stuff, make orbital teleport work, make new layer for hover tanks and hover boats, actually make units that make sense and are balanced. They made custom CSG to make more unique maps by players, and they made many of maps by themselfs (I think now every map in Galactic Campaign is hand made.) for multi and single. There are many more effects, better animation, less bugs, proper tutorial, and new game mode that adds up to the FFA's. They actually made free updates since launch with major stuff like saves, unit cannon, asteroids, better UI and everything, also new units. Its also FREE for kickstarters, its in price of expansion for every person that had PA before expansion was released, and its standalone expansion that replaces classic PA in store, and is only little bit more expensive (people will buy on sale anyway). PA have been on so many sales for 5-8$ that not many people can complain about being ripped off in this situation. And people complain about this. Geez. I get it, you can not like this game, fair and square, but for god sake, if you complain that it is unfair, that its a scam, that it is not worth the money for the job they actually did, sincerely, f#$% you. I'm watching every thread, reddit topic or anything about PA, and it is so tiresome to see the same false facts, bullshit rage about Uber, and those beautiful statements "there is no strategy in PA, only spam units".
I actually will stand up and say that I don't really like the game. i kinda thought it wouldn't be as insanely fast paced as it is. The baseline skill to play/survive a 15 minute match against the AI is quite high and that's a bit offputting. Maybe i'll get into it properly some day, or maybe this will flood the multiplayer with playes below the skill level of "i'm the only other player online right now", but for now i feel like i need to be on some kind of heavy stimulant to keep up, and even during my week of playing the game where i tried to have daily training sessions to see if i could get it, i either lost immediately or killed the ai immediately, and that's kinda lame. to give a shitty analogy, i was expecting something like battlefield and i got csgo instead.

If you have bad red eco, you can't outplay enemy, your army is smaller because you build slower. If you dont expand, you CAN'T have good eco in the long run, because you need metal spots for more metal. You dont expand - you dont have metal - your eco sucks - you can't build what you want in timely manner. If you dont scout, your enemy can do a lot to suprise you. On T1 he can just harrass you and your metal and eco, and you dont know where he is and where he will strike. He can also prepare many bombers and snipe you. If you dont know that beforehand you have no AA and die. If you know that you can easly counter it and actually defeat him fast, because he focused manly in air, and you can outplay him on land. There is a lot more stuff in T1, and in T2, he can nuke you, smash you, laser you, build teleport and suprise you with big army etc. Just scout, really. If you dont have mobile army, enemy can harrass you and do anything, because static defence rarely is everywhere, and rarely will win against medium-big army. Even in the first minute you need to start building army, even single units, just to counter harrass and even harrass enemy. Thats why first factory and fast second after mex and energy is most popular build order for first 30-60 seconds. Its a rule that you can have one energy generator for one factory building units. One engineer is also worth one T1 energy generator, so it adds up. If you do those 4 things correctly, you can win most fights. At the pure top of ladder strategy and tactics is what wins the fights, and some micro, but not the Starcraft amounts of it.

That's what I often did in Supreme Commander and in this game, it's wonderful to build up massive armies and see them tearing each other apart. For me at least, it's the same as StarCraft, play it with friends so you can take your time instead of having to rush and hurry with everything.

This game is kinda awful in comparison to its spiritual predecessors, including Supreme Commander. There's nothing like the amount of diversity in units and tactics that SC:FA has, especially considering SC:FA has good shielding mechanics among other things.

Also, I think FAF is far different game that is also slower and has more tiers of technology. Its eco is also different. I would not call any of those games worse, I would say they are different. PA was inspired mostly by TA for a reason.
I just played the game a bit again after a long break. The game has improved A LOT, I cannot believe how good it has become. I used to think that the game was too fast paced, but it's just right for me now. I played the tutorial and then started a galactic war, and that has been great for me so far. I haven't even made a titan yet so there's still more in store for me

Only now that this update has come out, supposedly making the game a lot better, am I considering buying it. That said, from what I understand, the game when it came out was not great. In fact, from what I heard, it was kind of really bad, like it was not only unpolished as all hell, but there was barely any content. If I had bought it, and they then came out two years later with a huge update which actually made the game good, made it what it was supposed to be... and then charged me for it, on top of the cost of the original game, which I'm assuming was about 40-60 dollars on it's own... Yeah, I would be pretty pissed, to be honest.
PA:T crashed on startup, and then before I could click start for an AI skirmish. A promising start. [editline]22nd August 2015[/editline] Beat normal AI. It felt way less skilled than the normal AI I played a year ago. Seemed to not be doing much at all. Hard tomorrow.

And it was not ONE big update only, it was many smaller on the way, for free, all the time. New units, content, bug fixes, saves, better galactic campaign etc.
Hard makes the battles a bit more drawn out, which is good. The AI doesn't seem to understand to use bots early game to harass full naval starts though. I probably would have lost my last match if the AI had thought to put even a single blob of bots through my base. Submarines took out the little sets of 4 and 5 I saw now and then, but no way could they stop a blob. Can bots attack while underwater though?
Bots cant attack under water.
The bounty hunter game mode is so much fun. Just playing 8 player FFA even with AI is so much fun. When there are only a few players surviving, with each having 1.5x or 2x economy and just throwing titans at each other is pretty awesome.
This game is sooo much fun, too bad the Normal AI is piss easy. :v:
I'm sad I'm not gonna have the money to buy Titans before my discount expires. I feel like Uber fucked me.

Dunno if it's cheaper than the discount you got on Steam but hey, there it is for you or anybody else who wants to buy it.

I'd like to start playing this game a lot more now, could any regulars add me so we can play? I don't have Titans right now despite kickstarting it. I've sent a support ticket to Uber but I haven't got a reply for days.

It adds chat to main menu with regulars and good players, you might talk there and invite people to lobbys. Also look for clans, and their teamspeaks.
Anybody from here willing to play today?
Sure, if you don't mind that I don't have Titans and I'm not very good at the game.
