Mods/hacks for getting within the parameters the game allows you to are fine by my book, and anything else, well, for offline play it is neat.
Getting something far beyond natural parameters and beating people up with that is something you grow out of when your age gets in the double digits.

I wonder if cheating is actually linked to any adolescent thought processes, I remember doing alright in the games I played when I was 10 but I hacked after a while because I got... bored of playing normal and I knew they existed? One thing I noticed anytime you hack a game: It immediately became boring after you cheat for a bit.
Hacking in this game would kinda ruin everything for you as being powerful by grinding is the crux of the gameplay.
I bought the game at launch before people even realized just how much of a fucking grindfest it really was, and cheated to alleviate some of that hell. But I never bothered with PvP both because I knew i'd probably get my ass kicked and because of cheaters on PC.

I find hacking to cut part of grinding more engaging than either grinding or plain cheating.

I really just want to respec right now and I don't feel like trying one PQ 15 times to get the Dragon Balls like I did last time...
They fixed a lot of the drop rates and the triggering of the special last tasks.
You'll end up with the 7 balls a lot faster than before.
On my end, each time I boot up the game, I'm reminded that I'll never find the fucking Old Kai again. It's the last one I never did yet! Where are you, you old crutch!
So the second is out, anyone playing?
They reuse a lot of missions, which's saddening.
They reuse a lot of missions, which's saddening.
As in they re-use a lot of missions from the first game, or they use some missions multiple times?
Why would it be saddening, they literally have every mission + 50 more.
The complaints about omg it's the same game either originate from ignorance about the dbz franchise or ignorance about what making a game in a year entails.
It's way more balanced, way more pretty and has literally double the content.
If you liked the first one, this one is just as likable.

I finished the game today, might replay it with a Buu character now since I've only ever played as a Saiyan as it fits my playstyle more.
I observe the suffering of the populace.

Xenoverse 2 is at heart, Xenoverse 1 but better. It's still got some weird oddities, and the story is presented as a sequel, but it covers a lot of the same ground and expands on it simultaneously.
There is basically no reason to play X1, 2 has everything but more
Has the pvp already been ruined by cheaters yet?
I wanted to get this game, but knowing there is no anti-cheat made me sad.

There is one reason, for the story and character import, but the amount of time put into XV1 for that sort of shit really would be a hassle and most people don't care for it.

Awesome. I never played Xenoverse 1 but since afaik Xenoverse 2 has full coop through the entire thing it sounds like it could be a ton of fun playing through with a friend or two.

The story is still singleplayer. There's Parallel Quests like XV1 but I don't know of anything else that's co-op, really.
Also this AI is really fucking pissing me off. It's hard to figure out the exact timing of numerous button inputs and stamina breaks, but starting with the final battle of the Frieza saga and onwards, you can bet your ass that if your Ultimate takes too long, they're stamina breaking you from behind and comboing your ass into a fine paste.
Right now i'm trying to Z rank the Kai tier of the Advancement Tests, the last Z rank I need in them to get [sp]Potential Unlocked[/sp] but Android 18 and Perfect Cell keep countering me and doing an obscene amount of bullshit that costs me the Z.

The eternal cat smile Buus get is the best thing ever, they can destroy planets and grab giant apes but they never look angry or pressured, only mischievous
So I've been getting into Dragon Ball a lot lately. I've watched all of OG Dragon Ball and I'm currently in the middle of the Android/Cell arc in DBZ.
Should I finish the show before I pick this game up or can I jump right in?

The game spans the entire dragon ball z show and the two movies that came after, the game assumes you already understand the show's time travel terminology, you most likely can jump right in, but personally I think it's more enjoyable after you have already finished the show.
That said, if you don't really want the fillers and long drawn out episodes in Z Dragon Ball Kai exists and it practically cuts out a whole lot, and focuses mostly on the sagas.
I'd say it's up to you really.

I'd watch Kai but the voices are all weird and different, I need the Funimation voices in the Remastered version.

Oh I thought you watched it in Japanese. well that's fine then, If you don't mind waiting for a bit and you want to watch the show before playing the game then I definitely suggest you stick to regular Z.
But just so you know I think the game has the same voices as Kai in English.

It does. I think either it or Ultimate Tenkaichi was the first game to start using the Kai voice changes.

Oh, really? I guess I completely misunderstood that trailer :v:
Well, I guess I won't be getting this game after all then.
Why the fuuuuck do they make you start all over again when making a new character

Usually I watch things in the native language with subtitles but Dragon Ball z was a part of my child hood. I watched that shit on Toonami after school every day and I'm just so used to the voices that it would feel wrong otherwise.
I'd probably get over it for the game, though.
My game has no players in it and I can't do any of the online stuff, what gives?
My game has no players in it and I can't do any of the online stuff, what gives?
You need to finish the first two story mission sets before you're allowed online play.
Yeah I just finally hit that. Also, I'm trying to do the 35 combo quest for Hercules but I'm having some trouble with it. The highest I've gotten on it is 27 with the Y + B combo where you A + Forward and hit them back and forth but usually they get some sort of invincibility and I can't progress. Any tips?
