Connecting to the XENOVERSE server... :suicide: Well, guess im not plaiyng today.
Aiming for top 3 tomorrow! [thumb]http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/527257229454149164/9B02CB85F35C96E5B24C21833F3042850AAFA333/[/thumb] The most annoying skill I've come across is hurricane, barely noticeable when they do it and it pretty much one hits you if caught.
the only dragon ball game I ever had was budokai and I loved it, sadly it didn't have a lot of content in it though so I went through all of it in a day
First Dragon Ball game I ever played was Budokai 3 and I fell in love with it. I still remember playing it for hours on end even though I had already done everything I could in the game.
Connecting to the XENOVERSE server... :suicide: Well, guess im not plaiyng today.
Just temporarily make a firewall rule blocking it. It's better than dealing with that and being d/c'd every couple of minutes.
So what's the verdict? As someone who loved the Budokai Tenkaichi games on the PS2, is this game worth getting? I haven't played a DBZ game in forever.

DB: XV feels faithful to it, the arenas are fairly open, giving you a fair place to zoom about and nock eachother around. There are a huge amount of characters and the custom characters are fucking excellent as you have so much shit to pick and chose from. The main story took a while to feel challenging to me personally (basically cell saga is kicking my ass) but that might be because it has somewhat RPG elements to the game, other people found it challenging from the get go. The game has parrallel quests which is pretty neat, being able to see things that didn't otherwise happen in the shows. The multiplayer is good, if only let down by peer-to-peer connections, so laggy matches happen and would probably make playing with overseas friends unlikely to work (sad face) 3v3 battles are insanely fun with three of you wizzing about and crazy amounts of ki attacks going on. Other than that the only really slightly dissapointing aspect is the servers are shitting themselves currently and that the destruction is pretty weak, you only really seem to make reasonable size decals on the ground, but i've not unlocked any absolutely insane attacks yet. That said, i love the game, it feels right, it feels rewarding for pulling off a combo, smacking them to the ground them obliterating them with something massive, it's pretty, it runs great (There, now we can point people at this post if they're looking to see how it is currently :v:)
Ah man that sounds awesome. I really wanna try it but it's so expensive. ;_;
Is there a trick to getting skills and souls? Im trying to get the Z-Soul for Veggies training. Done the mission a couple of times now and got pretty much everything else.

patiently waiting until people do a parody of oneyng's KAKA CARROT CAKE in DBZX
Does Kaioken show up in the skill shop at any point?
I wish you could fly in the city. Feels really lame just having to run around super slow to each destination. :(
According to my google-fu Kaioken is suppose to show up in the shop after the Sayian saga, but I've beaten that but I don't see it
And whats up with that [sp]1on1 Frieza [/sp] fight. He just aircombos me to death and hides behind what appears to be superarmor.
Finished story mode, now the joys of farming for the time crystal fragments
I heard people had a lot of trouble getting x20 Kaioken and then I joined a random online PQ and got it by accident... Lucky me I guess since I'm playing a human :v

if I've never watched dbz literally ever will I remotely understand this game or should I watch it first
I dont watch DBZ I just play the games and I have a general understanding of what goes on, I guess this is the worst one for understanding of story since its "People are fucking with the timeline" meaning you're seeing a fucked up version... It doesnt really matter, just beat stuff up.
if I've never watched dbz literally ever will I remotely understand this game or should I watch it first
i can summarize dbz for you There's some guys who can fly around and shoot magical beams at people and they punch other people who can fly around and shoot magical beams at people. And some of them are aliens, robots, monsters and/or wizards. And whatever the fuck Tien and Chiaotzu are. and yamcha is the greatest, watch out for his extra large spirit ball
if I've never watched dbz literally ever will I remotely understand this game or should I watch it first
Don't really need to know anything. Just think of every shonen fighting parody you've ever seen and play it completely unironically and you have DBZ. Strong guy shows up "I am going to blow up the WORLD" Goku shows up, shits all over them while his friends (who aren't dead) gasp at power levels and Goku usually dies somewhere along the line repeat. There are several points where characters turn to the camera, hand on the back of their head with n__n eyes and a big anime sweatdrop.

Remember that move that Nappa does, that levels an entire fucking city with the flick of a finger? Yeah, he never uses that ever again.

Gameinformer's review of Dragonball Xenoverse: Sound: "The music is horrible and so is the voice acting – so it basically sounds just like the show" Did Gameinformer just piss on the whole show on the premise of one game?
