you'd think with the Reach armor ports/recreations they'd of had some sort of realization that too much detail can be a visual clusterfuck, but then they turn around and don't learn at all

Reach armor ports literally only just happened. If anything, it'd be more comparable to say they've learned from what they've done in the past but I don't think that's the case. That being said, the new Stinger armor doesn't look too bad IMO.

Hopefully, but I have a feeling that Microsoft will come down on H5 modding a lot harder than HO modding, especially since it would mean a breach of the UWP format.

That is the model from the online armour customizer, it isn't as high quality as the game.

I don't know why they do this but different programs have different coordinate systems. 3DS Max is a pain in the ass for this, you almost always have shit import lying on it's side because it uses a different axis to define "up" than other software. This change in coordinates also changes how normal maps are read.
Inverted normals seems like a thing a good art team wouldn't miss, it could be that the engine they're using for the viewer is using a different coordinate system or normal map parser (is that the right term?) and it just ended up flipped.

for 343i wanting the armour to able to be worn on a human body you can't possibly wear that helmet.

Why are the textures on their armours so fucking weird? Like they're made of Clay? 4 had a problem where everything looked like you didn't thin your paints, and 5, while better, still looks off
everything in halo 5 looks really plasticy.
the spartans look seriously terrible. it's not just the artstyle too, the graphical quality is insanely low in multiplayer

Isn't that render also from the Waypoint armor editor, and not from ingame?

i cant say much for the actual game, but the waypoint renderer is made to run in browser, so its not really all that fancy looking

I didn't miss the Ark piece on the left, the original skybox in Avalanche doesn't have the ark in the sky, i assumed you were putting it in.
The Ark in thumbnail size almost looks like a giant fucking space eye creepily staring down on the planet.

Unfortunately so much of that skybox gets missed because everyone's too busy dodging the exploding panels. It's so bad that people miss the ark + ring and think they are still on the ark.

I dunno, it always seemed a bit "cheap" to me, the constant reuse of assets (particularly in the floor) in that level. It made it feel like it was a fan level made in Forge rather than a AAA studio, but to each their own I guess.

Goddamn, I remember the hype for Reach and all the backlash from the changes. So many people bitching about how they ruined it, and now I feel like this is the goto title for people who hate 4 & 5 :v: man these were the fucking days, I miss that time
