They're showing it off on the PCGamer stream [editline]13th June 2016[/editline] Halo Wars 2 PC will have typical RTS PC controls, like grouping and such

the beta is so buggy. I finally got into a match and the two people did nothing all match

Xbox Clubs and Looking for Group should hopefully help out with Halo's 5... non existant custom game problem? Same with MCC for people wanting to play the older games with people. Well, you kinda have to go out of your way to play customs, compared to pre-party chat XBL and Halo 3. If this is what i'm thinking, at least with Looking for Group. Randoms can join you if they are interested, kinda like a a server browser, in a sense. Didn't i hear that Halo Wars 1 is getting ported to Windows 10? I know it will be backwards compatible on the One.

Continuing the trend, my Halo Wars 2 is super borked. Took me twenty minutes to get past the main menu. From what I've played, it's Halo Wars, with evolved gameplay.

I rather they spend time optimizing it than releasing a mess of a PC beta and leaving a sour taste in PC gamers' mouths.

They're playing it extremely safe, and that's a good thing.

Is that a new Cyclops variant, or did they redesign it? Either way I'm loving it.

I've been playing the HW2 Beta, and I have to say, I love it so far. The gameplay seems to be everything good about the first with new additions. I've played around 5 or 6 games so far, and i've won every game i've played. I don't know what it is about Halo Wars, but I always seem to win no matter what. My last game was me v. the other 2 because my team member left at the start. I dont even play other RTS games. And yes, playing matches in the beta seems to award gold packs in Halo 5. I got around 3 so far.

What have they added in HW2, in terms of gameplay mechanics?

It honestly feels the same to me, although I didn't play much of HW1.

Welp. The beta is now crash to dashboard and hardlock/softlock central for me now. Can't even get past the "press start" screen.

Was like that at the start for me, then it started working. 3 games in my 4th and 5th game both ended almost immediately. Got me my H5 gold packs early heh

Apparently having my Xbox connected to the internet via ethernet was causing the all the issues I had?? what

I believe that is a new mechanic. So now you need supply pads for supplies and generators for power. You can also rake in more power (which is harder to get than supplies) by capturing Forerunner power stations throughout the match. Now your commander powers have an unlock tree menu, and you earn points through the match which allow you to specialize your abilities and unlock new ones. I play as Cutter, and I get around 5 points by the end of every game, I unlock all three stages of the MAC cannon, ODST drop, and the ODST battalion(?) drop. So it doesnt change much from the formula of the first other than adding some new features, but I think that this is going to be a really good game.

So call me crazy but i'm predicting that the final mission will put the UNSC Spirt of Fire crew and The Banished working together to fight off the Created, who are wanting the Ark. Which will be another playable faction in multiplayer, made up of prometheans and sentinel constructs like the enforcer. My main belief is that the events of Halo Wars 2, Terminals in Halo 3 Anniversary, and books that come out before Halo 6, will have all races of the galaxy going to end up uniting to stop the Created, showing that Humanity is worthy of inheriting the Precursors Mantle. With the plot-twist being that Cortana doing this all on purpose in order to stop the threat of the flood. Writing this up i was instantly reminded of Mass Effect 3. Considering the direction that 343 has gone it really wouldn't surprise me if something like this happens to set up halo 7 through 9. I don't see how it can get any worse.
