He was in the final cutscene of Halo 3, so he at least survived the war.
Not sure how many people still care for Halo MCC but
Actually, just out of curiosity, does anyone know what ever happened to Lord Hood? Did he just die, or is he still on Earth or something?
Hes alive and well by the time of Halo 5.

He's still the same Fleet Admiral we knew in Halo 2/3. He offered chief a promotion after the Requim incident, to which chief declined. He was also shot in the leg by Palmer.
Palmer is a butthead.

Christ I hate Palmer.

I get the whole "shooting Halsey" thing, even if she conveniently forgets it by the turn of the next game. But why the hell did she shoot Lord Hood?

She did it to get him out of a hostage situation and tackle the guy holding him :v:
Palmer is an egghead.
ftfy
What came first, the chicken or the Palmer?
I want a VN about that one Elite poet on Alliance trying to romance Sarah Palmer
theyd better fucking not
Laskey is the only likeable character besides Roland, and Palmer is the least likeable (good guy) character ever committed to fiction
Halo is dead
I do believe you'd be very pleasantly surprised with not only the number of players who jumped on during the free play period (holy moly lots! by golly it worked!), but also the amount of Halo 5 players each day and month - this isn't something we've talked about yet, but I am rather happy to share that even before the free play period, Halo 5 has had the highest monthly active players for a Halo title since Halo 3.
Also exciting (and not yet discussed, either) is the increase that H5 has seen in players each month over the past few months (we just got done looking at June numbers, which are once again higher than the previous month). As you can imagine this is pretty darn exciting to see, and this thread seemed like an appropriate place to share this news for the first time :)
I'd have to get approval from the powers that be to say more in terms of specifics, but you should rest assured that together, we're quite a strong army.

We back?
We back?
Not until 343 fixes the stigma surrounding it and the entirety of the reclaimer series.
That's impossible.
That's impossible.
That's my point.
I should have clarified: a lot of people put the original halo trilogy on a pedestal and say it's perfect, or at least, everything 343 does is in every way worse than the original trilogy. But a lot of this is nostalgia goggles.
Halo 1's campaign was really monotonous at times and the reuse of levels, while necessary, made some of them infuriatingly hard, especially when you decide to through infinitely respawning flood into a level. The warthog did not control well and the marine AI was useless. Plus, the original Xbox controller sucked, so if you missed just by a little because the controller's deadzone is huge you get massively punished.
Halo 2's campaign is better, but Bungie made the final boss fight really annoying and I shouldn't have to say anything about jackal snipers. It also feels like the arbiter's missions lack substance, especially towards the end (bar Sacred Icon and Quarantine Zone, but they still suffer a bit from that.) Marine AI is better but still is wonky, and I'm still not sure it was necessary to include the rock music (although it was awesome.)
Halo 3's campaign is probably the best in terms of working out the kinks, but it doesn't have the same use of vehicles and the reuse of The Storm in Floodgate is just...why. You only use the Scorpion for 5 minutes, you only use the Hornet for 3 minutes and you don't even use the Banshee at all. Plus, why did Miranada Keys have to die, and why did 343 Guitly Spark have to turn evil at the very last mintue? It added nothing to the story whatsoever.
Finally, Halo ODST was great but short, and Halo Reach had some (IMO) terrible voice acting and again had a problem with vehicle usage (no scorpion whatsoever.)
Halo 4 and Halo 5 have some problems (5 especially), but people are kidding themselves if they think the original trilogy was perfect.
And THAT is why 343 is fighting against fate. Halo is very much a nostalgic series, and memory is not something you can change.
Plus, why did Miranada Keys have to die, and why did 343 Guitly Spark have to turn evil at the very last mintue? It added nothing to the story whatsoever.
Miranda dying supported the undertone "this war has enough dead heroes."
And Guity spark "turned evil" because you wanted to destroy the ring, and he wanted to activate it.
I thought reach had plenty of vehicle bits. Hell, the Sabre portion was probably my favourite out all all the games. Also isn't there a section at Sword Base where you drive around in a scorpion? It's been a bit since I've played Reach.
I get what you mean about people viewing the original games with nostalgia and honestly, at best I always found Halo to be a little cheesey and schlocky but with a solid Sci-fi setting. The problem I have with the newer games is they're getting schlockier in terms of the story, but it feels like they're trying to take themselves more seriously and those two things don't seem to mesh well. Like I'd say ODST and Reach took themselves somewhat seriously, but their entire plots were "fight bad aliens" so they could have a more straight, war movie-esque plot. The new trilogy is going into all these things like Master Chief being a destined hero and the culmination of human evolution and Cortina starting an AI rebellion and it's all very silly but it doesn't feel like it's aware of it, whilst the original trilogy knew that it's premise was silly, but it knew how to still have weight and gravity to what was happening.

Yeah, same thing happened in Halo 1
Yeah, that's what he was saying.
Yeah, same thing happened in Halo 1
Really? I did not know that...... I mean it was direct reference to the events of Halo CE, going back to where it all began (Sorta)

I was adding to your statement, not talking to you.
What the fuck are yall doing
In Halo CE 343 Guilty Spark wants the Chief's head because Cortana stole the activation index and wants to stop him from activating Halo, at the end of Halo 3 343 turns on you because you want to fire the ring too soon, which would destroy it and possibly the Ark too
That post about "X-Box Play Anywhere" was edited.
They edited the bit about "Every new title published by Microsoft" was changed to "Every new title published from Microsoft Studios that we showed onstage at E3 this year"
