Alright Spartan, got the rules and teams all set up in the OP. Agoat, if you come up with any cool graphics you want put up, let me know and I'll post em.
In case you weren't watching the stream. They just showed off what looks to be the Needler rifle as a carbine REQ and Mark V armor coming in the January update.
Here's the teaser they showed.

That armour looks kind of cool.

Alright, I commented on a Halo 5 video just a while ago but I think the question belonged more in this section. I haven't bought Halo 5 yet. I enjoyed the beta but I'm really scared about the game and its community right now.
I've had people rip on this game or either praise it. I heard the campaign was awful. I honestly don't want to never purchase a halo game but it might just seem I might have to.
Should I buy this game or wait for the next one? I'm currently on the verge of selling my Xbox One as well since I cant find much games besides the Halo series.
If you enjoy Halo/Arena style multiplayer, buy it.
If you want a good (online) coop game and don't care too much for story, buy it.
Don't buy the game just for the singleplayer campaign.
The campaign's only really shitty when it comes to it's story and boring characters. The gameplay itself is really solid, and paces itself well. Same goes for the multiplayer, but it's big fault, at least when the game came out, was lack of content. Though most of that's been, or being fixed with content updates, so shouldn't be much of a problem for you. Really comes down to what you buy the Halo games for. If you're a multiplayer person, go for it. If you buy em for the cool stories, skip it.

Hey that looks awesome! We still gotta decide on the main gamemode though I was thinking of switching between slayer and territories for normal matches or just cycle through objective gamemods per map or we can all decide what gamemode when we start the match.
I'll have some fancy Conquest graphics up soon. Gonna make it look real nice.
I like how no one's on my team. THANKS GUYS :v:

Well I mean those 1v1 requests don't just disappear
Am I the only one who holds the opinion that forge is DOA if there is no way to play forge multiplayer outside of your friends lists?
I really hope all these editing tools won't go to waste if there is no way to play any of it except with the 1 or 2 people who own halo 5 on my friends list (if they even play still).
I don't really think that's an opinion. That's just gonna be how it goes if they don't get a proper repository up and running.
It seems like they are, but they're releasing forge first for some reason.
Watch the end of the live stream.
They mention a Forge creation playlist.

Campaign is actually pretty great if you ignore the story. Which is funny because most people enjoy Halo campaigns for the story.. but hey. It's fun.
Multiplayer: Its fucking awesome gameplay wise (see a pattern here?)... but seriously lacking in content and quality of content. I think the december update is going to put a much needed boost in the arm, so it would be a good time to get in.
Current issues with multiplayer: barely any game modes, everything is ranked and made to be over competitive so there isn't hotseat joining (read: good luck if you have a quitter), the current 3 warzone maps are horribly designed, Warzone itself is fun but needs rebalancing in the rules to make it enjoyable, all of the well designed maps in the game are cramped variations of "UNSC boxes" that all play out exactly the same, BTB maps are cool but look+feel incomplete and are a little cramped, half of the maps are utter garbage or feel half assed (every map that was made only in the forge but released as a "full map").

I didn't catch that? When was that said?
In the last 5 minutes of the stream. Bravo mentions a community based playlist that will include game types and Forge maps.
And for your issue with only ranked playlists, they said multiple Social Playlists are coming. The ones coming out next week are BTB and some other unknown playlist(s). And the social playlist while have join-in-progress windows.

I know about social playlists. I was just saying what kind of sucks at the current moment pre-update. A lot of what the december update is bringing should alleviate some of that stuff.
And seems like they just briefly mentioned the words "matchmaking". So that's good, but I really hope it is there at launch, and lets you do it through the file browser somehow. Lobbies would work.
What you're asking for basically sounds like custom games that allows random people to join which would require something like an actual server browser to work properly.
A playlist wouldn't be possible at launch. It will most likely show up in the Janurary update when there is a decent amount of community made content.
[editline]12th December 2015[/editline]
I much rather have a dedicated playlist that highlights the best of what the community is able to make which garuntees a certain level of polish to the maps and game types. I don't want to deal with (more) broken stuff.
The chroma key stuff they put in forge gives me hope that they'll build up support for machinimators. They fucked up in halo 4 with the whole "physics bump" thing. On that note, have they added in a way to lower the guns yet? It'd be a real dick move to Rooster Teeth if there wasn't.
[editline]12th December 2015[/editline]
Also, from what they've said so far, it seems like we are getting a Reach like file browser. No solid evidence but just some of the phrases I've heard devs say in videos and livestreams.
I'm so satisfied with how they are handling halo 5. I keep coming back to it daily because of all the content the MP has. Forge is going to make it 100x better.

It's all good. We can change stuff as we need to.
I've always said this but Halo would benefit greatly from a server browser, more so because of Halo:Online. I just hope Forge isn’t wasted because of the lack of a good fileshare, kinda like Far Cry 2/3/4's systems.
They need to seriously start pushing people to make connections with other players and build communities in game, hopefully these social playlists will help with that a little by making it less serious.
It would be great though if they could just disable Party Chat for Social Playlists (A bit of wishful thinking, i know...), or even just make it so Microphone users, partied or not would join up together.
Ever since halo 3 forge, I've wanted a Playlist for it
I'll probably end up wearing the Mark V armor with the Mark IV helmet. Something about the Mark V helmet just feels off.
maybe its how far out the mouthpiece juts out from the visor

To be fair, I think the rest of the armour looks good though.

Why can't 343i model anything right.
[QUOTE=SpartanXC9;49308725]Why can't 343i model anything right.[/QUOTE]
They modelled the MK. IV wonderfully
He's sort of right though. This is the second time that 343i has tried to make mark v armour, and last time they completely botched the entire thing. This time they did the armour fairly well, but the helmet looks off. It's weird because the mark vi they did for the h2a multiplayer (which I think is in h5 too) is really good, they just can't get mark v right for some reason.
