Looks kind of like the ship at the end of Reach
There is a very big difference between this between Halo 1-3 forerunner design and Halo 4-5 design
What drugs are you on?

It looks nothing like The Pillar of Autumn.
Ah never mind I take it back I thought it looked a bit like this:

you know the ship at the end of Reach?
-Snip, never actually seen that before, but it is a thing.-
Maybe you should actually make your posts informative instead of baiting people and trying to act like a smartass by sharing an image of a ship that takes up fuck all screen space and the majority of people won't even remember.
I still disagree, that ship is still following the basic shape of a Halcyon-class.

I wouldn't say so. The basic shapes remain mostly the same, with extra detail coming with increased polygon limit. The only big change is in the textures and you can't say Halo 3 had good textures, they were very bland and repetitive.

Yeah it's suppose to look like a super advanced version of the Halcyon since it shows up 30 years after Reach and it's to imply that the Humans have reach'd (ha) a tech level on par with the Forerunners or at least have greatly advanced
Do note the Infinity has a fuckton of upgraded Autumn copies ("Autumn Class") as its escort now

Also this pattern is getting overused to hell, it's in the armor and weapons already.

It's a diagonal brace used everywhere in building construction and seen often in the Pillar of Autumn, it's for reinforcement. It's a pretty big staple of human architecture.

I'm aware of that but there's no need to have it visible everywhere. You can sacrifice realism for style and get away with it in games.

Right so it's okay for Bungie to show development in Human Technology but as soon as 343i do it it's sacrilege? You are such a hypocrite.

If you want to jump back a few years my complaint was that Halo 4 had Human ships obviously inspired by that ship at the end of Halo Reach. I thought this was dumb because that ship was from 30 years in the future while Halo 4 was 4 years after Halo 3 which means all progress stopped.
I thought we were having a decent conversation until you decided to say that haha
You missed my point entirely.
Did we ever show this?

Oh man, I was playing some Oddball in Halo Online the other day and with the weapon pickups and such it really felt like a proper port of Halo 3 on PC.
Also, rebinding melee to right click is a godsend.

Only issue is have is the 60 FPS lock but you can get the FOV to near ridiculous levels so at least there's that.
The Fall of Reach animated series is on Canadian Netflix.
It's on UK Netflix too.
Why did they use the new designs for stuff? I enjoyed it, but despite not knowing everything about Halo Canon, I could tell a lot of stuff was off. [sp] It's been a long time since I read the book so I seem to remember a Spartan getting shot on the way over to the cruiser, is my memory lying? [/sp]
Seems like a Mishmash of different designs from different Halo games.
Also it doesn't even show the fall of reach.
Yeah, it finished and my thought were "wait, where did Reach fall into all this?" It was barely mentioned. I enjoyed it, but it fell far short of my expectations.
It looks like it was put together by the motion comic people who probably aren't that into the series and were just asked to do stuff based on what they've already done, which is all the 343 stuff.
Honestly, I hated it. Then again, I've been thinking about representing TFOR visually for a long time. I have my mind made up about a lot of things.
In my head:
The spartan training grounds are rough and low tech. No metal. No glowing panels. Just concrete brutalist arcitecture.
Isn't Deja yellow? also all AIs in this era in my world are low poly with sharp edge normals.
The MKIV suits are reconstructions of the 1999 Macworld Mjolnir armor.
The ODST boxing segment would be as brutal as it's described in the book, and also more visually abstract to communicate exactly what the effects of augmentation are. In fact, the whole project, be it a movie or a short, would be pretty stylized.
The asteroid mission is darkly lit and it's actually believable that they'd be able to sneak past people with armor on. It's also way more violent. The whole thing is hard R.
man whatever
The Forward Unto Dawn movie was actually pretty damn good and self-contained. I showed it to my mom and except for the prologue she really liked it.
It was definitely well put together and better acted than I expected.
The fact that The Package Chief is in it though... soured it for me.
what do you mean?
what do you mean?
The Package outfit is ass since it looks more advanced then the MKV
It also looked like fiberglass and not a titanium alloy. I'm with Xaelener on package chief spoiling it. Everything else was so well done and when chief showed up I was like "eww what are they doing."
It would have been much better if Master Chief didn't show up with his suction cup feet and it was just the students escaping. Also what was up with them butchering the Reach commercial costumes?
If there's any kind of movie that actually needs a good sized budget, it's a Halo movie. Believable Covenant and fully armored Spartans just can't be pulled off on a low budget.

I guess they were lazy, Thom and Kat got repainted to make Fred and Kelly..
iirc Kat had an actual arm in Deliver Hope too
I wonder what the budget for those live-action Halo 3 Ads were because they were pretty decent.

We were suppose to get a high budget Halo movie but Microsoft wanted all the profits so everyone pulled out. All the props and CGI were then altered and used in District 9 and Elysium

Source?
Ugh I remember seeing an article with pictures of props from the alleged Halo movie in development. Imo I'm glad it never happened because you could tell what aliens were what, but the redesigns were worse than 343's, and that's saying something.
