Yep, and much like everything else 343 touches, they look nothing like established flood.

It kinda looks like he has little baby arms on his head rubbing his eyes
So calling 343 redesign shit is ok when I do it, but whenever Spartan says it you rate him dumb?
:pudge:
Actually, didn't Spirit Unto Fire or whatever the ship from Halo Wars was called, have Flood overrunning it in the Escalation comics? They're still out there, just not as the primary antagonist right now.
From what I read (more so on Halo-dedicated forums), people were hoping that if the original plot of Halo 5 (Locke/ONI vs Chief) happened, Humanity would enter another civil war, which would be right when the Floor would strike, which would take place in Halo 6.
Now there's no telling how the Flood will be involved in Halo 6, if they're even involved at all.
This thread use to think they looked great.
haha, what the shit, for real?
Would somebody be the hero this thread deserves and find a quote from someone who liked the design back then? Just so we can cringe at it.

Probably more Flood locked away in containment/quarantine zones on the rings. (Probably the one [sp]Cortana finds in the Legendary ending.[/sp])

A full-on civil war would have been a great "full circle" kind of thing since the only reason humanity was united again was because of the Covenant.

Because he constantly shits on everything post Halo 3.

I like ODST and Reach.

The only issue with that would be Cortana knows the Flood is neigh impossible to destroy entirely, so at most she'll threaten the galaxy with being consumed with the Flood if they don't obey her.

I still don't understand why they put so much time, effort, and money into making ads and marketing campaigns for the plot when they completely changed it for the worse.

In this brave new world of completely un-self-aware villains and a desperate grab to keep raising the stakes it's not unthinkable that halo 6 would involve cortana thinking she could use the flood

More like Collectors from ME than flood

Imagine a genuine battle against AI SPARTAN-IVs who are more than willing to use their abilities to their full advantage, even if they're not Locke's team, because of human conflict escalating due to ONI's machinations blowing up big time at long last.
Instead the Rookie [sp]got shot in the head[/sp] as a cheap excuse for Buck being part of Osiris and the Insurrectionists and other human conflicts are all only ever going to get any sort of comeuppance (or progression at all should they become more detailed) in books and comics because the games want to focus solely on the interstellar drama of the Forerunners being ginormous douchebags and [sp]Cortana going evil.[/sp]
They're cool but fuck that is not what flood looks like.
Oh and way to go rating me dumb because I didn't play a game you hated Spartan. Christ.
Now the H2A flood Spartans aren't quite that silly.
Aren't the H2A zombies just normal player models coloured brown with red plasma swords?

What Armor is that even supposed to be. I know those pincers are supposed to be flood stand-in for the energy sword but fuck does it look silly and impractical.

That is what the Halo 4/5 armour looks like without all the parts on it, it is the under suit.

Looking at the H2A model, it's way more badass and true to the flood aesthetic.

343 would be so much better off if they just got Saber Interactive's artists to do the work. Pretty much everything in H2A was on point.
Certain Infinity worked on the MP
I thought they just designed the maps though. Do they have their own artists too?
Yeah, look at the new Doom MP trailer. CA is working on that as well.
There's a reason it kind of looks like Halo.

It used to seem like Spartan was the only person who disliked "new" Halo stuff. This sudden change surprises me.

"sudden"
People have been bitching about 343's changes to Halo starting with their balance tweaks to Reach. The folks here have been more willing to give them chances with stuff here and there and people genuinely seem to say all around that 5's multiplayer is great if not lacking content. But generally besides one or two people who either don't mind or don't care, the art design's almost constantly ridiculed here and the story is agreed to be awful by most. Especially 5's.
Although it seems most people here genuinely like Halo 4's campaign, which I hate as a hardcore Bungie-era Halo lover. I understand it's just my opinion though, so I try not to voice it too much.
The only Halo Campaigns I liked were CE and Reach. The other ones I hardly touched after beating them first time and replaying them in MCC.
I enjoy the multiplayer of Halo much more than the singleplayer.
[editline]14th March 2016[/editline]
I really wish we got a full remaster of Halo 2 instead of MCC. H2A MP is the best part of MCC and the lack of maps makes me sad.
Ah, the campaigns (CE-2-3-ODST-Wars-Reach) were my favorite part of every Halo game. They each hold a very special place in my heart. But since (in my opinion) the campaigns are not really worth it anymore, I have really gotten into matchmaking. Personally, Halo 5's MP is my favorite to date.
I used to replay Halo 3's campaign all the time with friends because, for me at least, it was the first big multiplayer game I had that I also had friends to play with. Running Legendary was always fun, it got a bit stale, but we got pretty good at the game and ended up fooling around with the AI more often than not. Reach was still special to me, but almost all of my friends stopped playing Xbox 360 or didn't get Reach, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
The campaign are at least supposed to be interesting plot-wise, not the mess 4 and 5 were. I can't say if multiplayer has improved since I've barely played any of 5's considering my friend's Xbone is the only way I do play it.

At least art direction is somewhat subjective. The worst offender of 5 to me is still the UI, and I don't think I've ever seen one person defend it. It's stripped down and awkward. User experience as a field has grown so much in the past several years that I don't know how they could fuck up that bad. And it's not like it even went bad with 343. It was decent enough in 4.
