People complain about the Warden Eternal fights, and yeah, they were annoying, but Bungie gave us loads of mini boss fights where we had to take on a pair of hunters. Okay they're not so threatening once you find out you can just walk circles around them (thank you 343 for fixing that) but they were still tanky like the Warden is and we saw them all the time.
Could be wrong but I don't think they showed up near a much. Plus they weren't exactly important plot points/characters in the story. And when the campaign is longer and has more variety, you can afford a little more repetition. But Halo 5's smaller sample size makes it way more noticeable.
In case you guys haven't seen this, here is a slightly outdated changelog that Gamecheat posted on Reddit for the upcoming ElDewrito 0.5.1 update. View it here.
I don't think it mentions it here (just mentions fixes for it) but dual-wielding will be returning, and the input system has undergone a major rewrite (that's right, we have rewritten a good majority of the input system) to allow full rebinding of controls that weren't previously rebindable, such as the dual wield pickup action. Rewriting this system also allows us a ton more flexibility in the future, and fixes a lot of issues, because Saber's input system was buggy and unfinished.
Also notable in this changelog are special Forge items which allow one to disable map barriers in Forge maps. This lets you Forge completely outside the map on any Forge map, while maintaining the barriers if the map doesn't call for it. Permanently disabling the barriers would've caused normal games to be ruined, and a console command to disable barriers would've been clunky, so this is the best solution.
Generally, this update will be focusing heavily on fixing issues and making the game a much smoother experience so that we can pivot over to Anvil while leaving ElDewrito in a very stable, playable state. Almost all bad functioning systems such as the input system or UI bugs will be fixed and the game will transform into a much prettier, stabler experience.
I'm very excited for that update

Too bad there isn't any AI in H:O
Not sure I like these ones...

--Changed mainmenu music to a more suitable track
I actually liked the music. Plus I thought the Elites were getting closer to actually playable. I'm guessing that Female Spartan stuff just wasn't in the game?
p.s Didn't know you were a dev, though. What's the username you use on the irc/subreddit?
Ya, I thought the Halo Online menu track was really good. Wouldn't be surprised if it was more of Tom Salta's work.

IRC/Subreddit username are both ihatecompvir.
We removed the match complete music because it would trigger erroneously, and once playing, it would never end. Games that had no set end could start playing the music and would play it forever. Plus, in games that didn't last forever, it could trigger very, very far away from the end of the game.
I don't know what track the mainmenu was switched to, or why it was. Once you've been messing with Halo Online as much as a lot of the devs have, you get so sick of the same song playing every time you're in the menu so I can understand the switch. Also, the new version might just be a more expanded version of the existing track, in which case it's a good switch.
Also, female spartan/elite stuff were removed because we don't want them in ElDewrito, because of the extra work that has to go in with adding the synchronization of race and gender, as well as figuring out how to convert armor models to the old armor format. We want to mainly make sure existing ElDewrito features work well and are avoiding adding a new, potentially complex feature into the game which could have it's own set of problems. In the newer builds, they switched the way it worked around entirely (the newer builds use a Halo 5 style head/body armor, as opposed to our build which has the 5 slots). Female spartan would've been added most likely if there wasn't an enormous amount of work to be done in getting the female armor to work in our build (the female armor is smaller and better fitted to the female biped - you can put male armor on the female biped, but it looks bad and oversized). Rest assured that female spartan and elites is a planned Anvil feature.
No playable elites? 0/10
H:O development information
I'm really excited about Anvil.
As I understand it, the development team don't want to make this turn into Halo 3 PC (which is understandable from my perspective), but ultimately is stopping people that I used to play H3 with going through the download process, etc.
What are some of the big plans for Anvil? (If you're comfortable with sharing them)
Not to be rude or anything, but how does Anvil Online make female Spartans, Elites and even map importing easier? From what I've heard, Anvil Online is a much tidier version of ElDewrito; that doesn't solve the problem of animations and sounds being fucked or the fact that you have to somehow get the game to accept new resources into the common resource pool.
Also, did Gamecheat ever get the minimal forge pallet working on Edge? Does this include the Forge+ objects?
Does anybody else have issues with MCC? I'm trying to play through the games in coop with a friend, but we get the same error every time we try to join eachother, "Your connection to the game session has failed, please try again."
I don't know if it helps, but i've activated my 48 hours xbox live gold trial.

It probably doesn't help that MCC is a broken-as-hell game. Sorry mate.

Off to a great start. Can i get a new 48-hour trial because of this? Because this is pure bullshit.

You didn't research the MCC dude? It used to skip levels in Halo 1 or not save your progress, Halo 2 either froze up or the friendly AI wouldn't work or didn't save as well, Halo 3 ran at 5 fps and I donno I think Halo 4 was alright. Multiplayer wouldn't work at all. In fact I think Halo CEA still has lag for co-op.
[sp]Welcome to 343i Halo[/sp]

I preordered the game & have never played online before..
I mean jesus, wasn't the entire point of having a console to NOT be bothered by game-breaking bugs? Might aswell scrap the entire Console gaming industry.

Because Elite stuff and Female Spartan stuff is already in the game on the newest build (which Anvil will run off of). Plus, Saber had fixed the gender and race systems up and they are basically all ready for synchronization. This makes it a ton easier to get those things working, because there's not a whole lot of work that has to be done on our part. Also, it should be noted that getting new resources into the common resource pool is already extremely easy - tag tool just doesn't have functionality for manually adding stuff because it requires modifying a tag to use your new resource instead. But, when you use the convert command, or the import bitmap command, the bitmap or converted resources are added as new resources and they do not overwrite old ones.
Yes, he did. I'm going entirely what he put into the changelog - I haven't actually asked him if he has yet.

We're going to be entirely overhauling how easy it is to share modifications. You guys will absolutely love this system when we decide to share more about it, and I do think it will bring along TONS of new players because mods will be something you can't make a mistake about installing.
On top of this, because Anvil runs on the newest build of the game, you can expect to see massive improvements in FPS and general game stability. The loading times in the new builds are cut down MASSIVELY, so that's always something nice. Also, the "unoptimized" maps, Reactor and Edge, run at pure 60FPS, as opposed to the current version where they run at less than 60 FPS in many areas.
In many ways, Anvil is just a prettier, stabler ElDewrito, but in other ways, it is a massive step forward in making ElDewrito a very viable platform for people who like to play Halo on PC.
You devs still amaze me, I've been following the progress since we found out we could download the Russian version. You guys have a lot of skill/talent and I'm eager to see what else you guys can accomplish.
MCC crashed more than ElDewrito has ever for me. That is sad
Since Anvil is on the lastest H:O, does that mean ragdoll physics are as they were in Halo 3 and no longer "host sees impact force, clients don't" along with other Halo 3 physics quirks?
Yes i care about ragdoll more than i should but its lame to have a rocket do the same as a BR to a guy

I'm firmly in the "Bungie Halo" camp (don't own an XBone) and it upsets me that I don't know any of the programming languages used in the development of this, because it's a project I love so much.
I don't think MCC has ever crashed on me, and I've had it since launch.

Games being way more complicated combined with the "safety net" of online patches means consoles get plenty of bugs, terrible framerates, and crashes. I remember the first time I had a console game crash. It was super strange to me at the time.
Of course patching doesn't really apply to MCC because there's no money in it for 343i to do so. It's too bad they didn't introduce micro-transactions with MCC, or it'd probably work perfectly by this point.
The only time a game has crashed on my xbone is when I did some shit that was too crazy in Halo 5's forge.
That being said, this is all anecdotal and don't fuckin matter
MCC is undeniably riddled with serious issues, and making it a singular collection was a mistake.
MCC is a mess. MCC is a waste. MCC is a mistake.
Is halo online considered old news yet?
Also, HALO WARS 2 SO HYPED
I'm glad I finally came to this thread and read the OP
Did you see the last page?

It is fine if you only play SP, which is what I bought it for.

I didn't have a crash exactly, but I got the H5 forage stuck in a loop where it was constantly rendering the lighting and the map wouldn't load.

I've only had it for 3 days now, and it crashed 6 times.

Ya sure about that? When I played it skipped levels in Halo CE and didn't save my progress. When I played Halo 2A the friendly AI wouldn't follow me and it crashed several times. Halo 3 had 5fps.

I played it from day one and never had any issues like that with single player. It was just multiplayer that was bugged to hell
The only issue i had with the MCC (single player wise) at the first days was the game completely skipping a level in Combat Evolved.
