I wouldn't be surprised if the Plasma Rifle was a port of the Halo 2 Anniversary model.
They did that with the Halo 2 BR, though that makes sense.

Which is also sadly the reach model.
You can see the Plasma rifle in the screenshot above, it looks to be the standard design since Reach

I've also had ideas for games set in the universe that aren't just arena shooters (like an actually stealth-oriented game with ODSTs as opposed to H3ODST where we were told we'd get stealth and instead got the ability to run around enemies, or a Flood survival game where you're trapped on an infested ship) but I can't really make a Halo game myself even if I wanted to.
I can see an Alien: Isolation-like game with Flood working out well.
We need the plasma repeater and needle rifle
Something pssessed me today and I reinstalled MCC to try to play some Halo 2.
Decided to play all four games (multiplayer) and now I remember why I didn't like Halo 3 and why I still don't like it. Didn't get much CE since the (stupid) 2v2 playlist is beyond dead and no one votes for it. Halo 4 is still "eh" to me. Not bad but not good either. And Halo 2 Anniversary pissed me off since all it did was remind me why MCC shouldn't exist and why we should have gotten a full H2A. Regular Halo 2 is still great though if you don't mind waiting a few minutes between matches.

Also, is Reach still poopbutts on the Xbone emulation?

If you don't mind me asking, why don't you like H3?
I don't like the equipment and it feels really sluggish to me. And the weapons all sounded muted and had very little punch to them.
And the pistol sucked ass.
Had the pleasure of playing Swatnums on H3 tonight and it was awful.
Only good thing, imo, is the map design.

I'd prefer to be able to kill the Flood, but yeah, a very tense and atmospheric game would be great. Maybe be forced to improvise for weaponry, like stealing Grunt methane tanks and using them as fuel for a flamethrower, stuff like that.

It is playable
It is playable
That's not really a confidence booster :v:
"Is it better?"
"it's playable" :v:
Well it doesn't bother me at all, and I've been playing multiplayer and doing well.
Actually why isn't the Plasma repeater in to act as a covenant version of the SAW?

To create actual weapon variety rather than simply visual variety. If they added it in, no doubt there would be people who would complain that it's just a reskinned SAW. I'm not opposed to visual variety, but I'm just putting forward my thinking for why it's not in.

Have you not played any other Halo? There's always been covenant counterparts to human weapons. Sword/Shotgun Plasma Rifle/Assault Rifle Carbine/Battle Rifle.
Have you not read what I said?
Gameplay wise those weapon combinations are different. The sword is melee weapon and the shotgun isn't etc.
The plasma repeater is basically an LMG like the SAW, hence my conclusion.
We really don't need another saw type weapon. There's enough guns in the game that are just bigger stronger versions of the last one. They should spend their time adding weapons that actually fill different rolls. Something like the grenade launcher that can emp vehicles and do some damage, or a shotgun melee hybrid like the mauler etc
I miss the grenade launcher from Reach.

See, Overwatch gets it. I'm all for new weapons but I'd rather some diversity. I'm happy to see the old plasma rifle but I hope they add something new to it or at least make it dual-weildable. (hopeful I know)
We need more unique weapons, maybe weapons that are good at taking out specific vehicles or NPCs. Or weapons with alternate functions like Unreal Tournament. The H4 Promethean pistol (I forget the name) was a good step in this direction, having dual firemodes. I think the Promethean visual style suits this idea, I'd be perfectly okay with only Promethean weapons having the ability to change function. Imagine something like the binary rifle, having the ability to change that beam into a small AOE wave around the player that knocks out shields.
That's what I mean by actual variety.
I've said this before and ill say it again, the Noobtube and the Sticky-det were some of the best new weapons in the series.
I think we should have those two again.
I totally forgot about the sticky det. That weapon really didn't get enough time to shine in halo 4

I love seeing the videos and interviews with Marty. He's pretty down to earth.
Marty just seems like an awesome guy. Wish his next game wasn't a playstation vr exclusive.
Played a bit of Xbone Reach. God damn, the temporal AA ghosting. Was it this bad on the 360?
I was reading a Star Wars comic.. And the Artist used the design for the Halo Monitors for the brain of a droid.

No spoilers, I just cut out the images of the device.

I popped my disc in and played around a bit, and it's only really quite bad when flinging objects around at high speed in forge.

I just wish 343 had hired him when they had the chance. Halo 5's soundtrack is awesome, but losing Marty's talents was one of the greatest blows to the feeling of the new Halo games.
